Finally, a positive update. Kincaid strained a hamstring in Week 10 against the Dolphins and has been unable to practice ever since. Today’s limited session does not guarantee he suits up in Week 13 against the Steelers. It could indicate the opposite, as he has not yet been cleared to practice fully. But it is a positive development nonetheless. If he can resume practicing in full tomorrow, he has a shot. Expect a return in Week 14 against a Bengals defense that has given up 962 receiving yards to opposing tight ends. They are the only defense to allow 800 or more.
  • GB Running Back #8
Dealing with a calf injury in Weeks 7-9, Jacobs banked two RB1 finishes and one RB2 finish. He totaled 14 touches and 16 touches in Weeks 7 and 8, respectively, buoyed by three touchdowns scored in those two games. They are his only outings notching fewer than 20 touches in a game this season. He totaled 21 in Week 9. No. 2 RB Emanuel Wilson played well with Jacobs sidelined by the current knee injury, a bone bruise, last week. It is possible the Packers mildly restrict Jacobs’ touch count a la Weeks 7 and 8, while allowing Wilson to handle 10-12 touches behind him. Jacobs should be in starting lineups against the Lions, though he is perhaps best viewed as a high-end RB2 with RB1 upside, rather than as a locked-in RB1. Wilson is on the RB3/FLEX radar, though his workload admittedly remains tough to project.
  • JAC Wide Receiver #7
Thomas is clearly still bothered by this shoulder injury, but he should have a healthy target share with WR/CB Travis Hunter (knee) now on injured reserve. The Raiders’ swinging-door defense also helpfully increases Thomas’ odds of hauling in a few downfield passes. The volatile wide receiver is a WR1 in Week 9.
  • GB Running Back #8
Jacobs played through this calf injury in Weeks 7-8, resulting in season-low touch counts of 14 and 16. He logged 20-plus touches each game in Weeks 1-6. He, unfortunately, remained limited in all three weeks, suggesting he will again handle another reduced workload against the Panthers. Fortunately for fantasy managers, Jacobs remains involved in the red zone, yielding three touchdowns over the last two weeks, which keeps him locked into the high-end RB2 tier, at worst. No. 2 RB Emanuel Wilson can be started as an RB3/FLEX in deep leagues.
  • CHI Wide Receiver #2
In Weeks 7 and 8, Moore sat out on Wednesday, practiced in a limited capacity on Thursday, practiced in full on Friday and suited up on game day. Through two Week 9 practices, he is on track to do the same. He finished as a WR4 and WR3, respectively, during that span. Against the Bengals, Moore can be treated as a WR3 with upside.
  • CHI Running Back #4
Swift practiced in full on Wednesday before being downgraded to limited on Thursday and Friday. The Bears’ starting running back has dealt with quad and hip injuries already this season, playing through questionable designations in Weeks 3 and 4. Given his past availability, it seems likely that he suits up against the Saints this weekend, and Swift even told reporters on Friday that he will play, saying his two limited sessions were just “maintenance.” Monitoring reports leading up to kickoff will be worthwhile, regardless. Backup RB Kyle Monangai is a recommended bench stash where available.
  • SF Tight End #85
Kittle also told reporters that he fully tore his hamstring in Week 1 against the Seahawks. No wonder he was quickly ruled out in-game and placed on injured reserve two days later. While Kittle expects to play this week, he acknowledges it will ultimately be up to head coach Kyle Shanahan whether he makes his return. The 49ers’ pass-catching corps has been plagued by injuries this season, yet the 49ers are 4-2, with a 3-0 record against NFC West foes. If active, Kittle is an elite TE1.
  • IND Tight End #84
Warren’s return to practice on Thursday was encouraging, but his inability to practice in full on Friday is concerning. If the Colts allow him to suit up, he should be in starting lineups due to his already-elite per-play efficiency. He appears to be truly questionable, though. Fantasy managers should make backup plans.
  • JAC Running Back #33
Tuten’s continued limited participation puts him on track to suit up in Week 3 against the Texans. The red non-contact jersey is a bit concerning, though. Hopefully, Tuten practices in full tomorrow and can safely be started as a high-upside FLEX option, operating as the Jaguars’ oft-used backup running back.
  • JAC Wide Receiver #7
Interpreting downgrades can be tricky. It’s entirely possible that the Jaguars’ coaching staff is just managing Thomas’ reps. It’s also possible he experienced irritation and/or a setback. The latter scenario seems unlikely, given the lack of alarm bells from Jaguars beat reporters. We expect Thomas to practice in full tomorrow, but this is clearly worth monitoring. Stay tuned.
