Left-hander Joey Lucchesi was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Klassen will be thrown right into the fire for the Angels, starting on Sunday against the Mariners. It’s unclear if Ryan Johnson is being bumped from the rotation entirely after his poor season debut, or simply getting pushed back. Klassen, 24, posted a 6.43 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and a 14/9 K/BB ratio over 14 innings during five appearances in Cactus League play.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #58
Ugh. Brown came out of his last start against the Red Sox complaining of some soreness in his shoulder and will now hit the shelf for at least a couple of weeks as the Astros allow it to calm down. Hopefully that’s all it is and the Astros’ ace is able to return before the end of April. Christian Roa was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move, though that’s likely just as a fresh bullpen arm until Spencer Arrighetti arrives to take Brown’s spot in the Astros’ rotation.
  • LAD Shortstop #50
Dodgers’ skipper Dave Roberts was hesitant to put a timeline on Betts’ potential return to action, but said he was hopeful that it would be less than the 4-to-6 weeks that is typically seen with an oblique injury. Hyeseong Kim was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take his place on the active roster.
  • LAA Center Fielder #7
Adell has been objectively one of the worst defensive players in the sport since becoming a regular. Don’t tell that to the Mariners. He robbed Cal Raleigh of a homer in the first, Josh Naylor of a roundtripper in the late innings, and in the bottom of the ninth, he dove into the right-field bleachers to rob J.P. Crawford of a solo shot that woulda tied the game. Remarkable. Adell is certainly athletic enough to provide these types of things, but you probably would have guessed several other outfielders before landing on Adell to do it.
  • NYY Relief Pitcher #53
The Marlins scored two runs in the eighth to tie the game before the Yankees scored three in the bottom of the inning to rebuild a three-run cushion. It’s a good thing they did because Bednar had a rough inning. He allowed an infield single to start the inning and then later issued a walk and gave up an RBI single. He gave up yet another single, but it was sandwiched between two strikeouts, including one of Griffin Conine to end the game. It’s Bednar’s fourth save of the season, and while his 4.15 ERA leaves a little to be desired, he should likely be one of the better closers in fantasy this season.
  • MIA Shortstop #9
Edwards is having a solid series and a good start to the season, slashing .467/.500/.633. He has just one steal and two RBIs, so there hasn’t been much value so far, aside from the batting average. Still, previous experience tells us that the steals will come.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #40
Weathers struck out four and walked three while throwing 59 percent of pitches for strikes. The left-hander got plenty of called strikes on his four-seamer and sinker, and his changeup missed bats, but it also missed the strike zone a lot. The pieces are still there for Weathers to be a solid starter in New York, but he’ll need to find the strike zone a bit more regularly. He could still be on the streaming radar next week at home against the Athletics.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #44
Sensational. Luzardo was anything but in his start against the Rangers on Sunday, and while it came against the worst team in baseball, it’s still one of the better starts for any pitcher in 2026. He was able to pick up those 11 strikeout while generating a phenomenal 23 swings-and-misses, and he didn’t walk anyone while throwing 72-of-99 pitches for strikes. He’ll try and keep this up Friday when he faces the Diamondbacks.
  • TB Center Fielder #31
Both of Mullins’ hits were singles, and these were his first two steals of the season. He’s been hitting sixth for the Rays against right-handed pitchers, so there should be some chances for RBIs this season, but he’s also slashing just .133/.156/.167 so far this season with two runs scored. The Rays paid him a lot of money, for them, this season, so he’s not likely to lose his job, but he needs to produce more consistently before he can be on fantasy radars.
  • TB Relief Pitcher #32
Matz also walked two and struck out eight on the night, in what was a much better start than we saw his first time out this season. The left-hander had just a nine percent swinging strike rate despite his eight strikeouts, but he got ahead early with his sinker to continually put him in advantageous counts. Matz’s changeup usage was up significantly in this one, a key change that the Rays are making with him this season. He struggled to command that pitch tonight, but it would be a nice change for him this season. However, Matz is probably not worth starting in shallower formats next week against the Yankees.
