According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Celtics have traded Malcolm Brogdon to the Trail Blazers.
The reigning Sixth Man of the Year is on the move, as he was one of two players sent to Portland in exchange for Jrue Holiday. In addition to Brogdon, the Trail Blazers will receive Robert Williams, a 2024 first-round pick (via Golden State) and a 2029 first. While Brogdon was productive off the bench in his lone season with the Celtics, things ended on a sour note. He injured his right elbow during the Eastern Conference Finals, with it being unknown if surgery would be required. Boston then tried to include him in the Kristaps Porzingis trade, but things fell through when the Clippers expressed concern about Brogdon’s health (Marcus Smart would be traded to Memphis to complete the deal). Brogdon can be a quality fantasy option when healthy, but his value in Portland is unknown. He may be in a situation similar to Holiday, where his career “clock” and desire to compete for a championship doesn’t mesh with the franchise’s ongoing rebuild. Don’t be surprised if Portland looks to find Brogdon a new home, as that would protect the minutes of young guards Scoot Henderson, Shaedon Sharpe, and Anfernee Simons.

Brandon Miller had 20 points (8-of-16 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), two assists and two three-pointers in Tuesday’s loss to the Celtics.
Miller had 20 points, but not much else in the loss to the Celtics on Tuesday. The Hornets were 16-of-49 from behind the three-point line in this one and the 23-year-old small forward contributed to the total by going 2-of-8. Miller has provided top-60 per game value this season, making him a value at his preseason ADP.
White: Celtics have a lot of different ways to win
Derrick White joins NBA showtime to discuss what went right for the Boston Celtics against the Charlotte Hornets and what Jaylen Brown has meant this season.
  • UTA Guard #21
Bez Mbeng accumulated 26 points (12-of-18 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), three rebounds, three assists, five steals and one three-pointer in Tuesday’s loss to the Pelicans.
  • UTA Forward #5
Cody Williams accounted for 19 points (8-of-17 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), four rebounds and five assists in Tuesday’s loss to the Pelicans.
  • UTA Guard #0
Kennedy Chandler recorded 31 points (11-of-18 FGs, 7-of-8 FTs), seven rebounds, eight assists, two steals and two three-pointers in Tuesday’s loss to the Pelicans.
  • NOP Center #22
Derik Queen notched 17 points (6-of-9 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), 12 rebounds, seven assists, three steals and two blocks in Tuesday’s win over the Jazz.
  • NOP Guard #24
Jordan Hawkins amassed 25 points (11-of-16 FGs), six rebounds, four assists, three steals and three three-pointers in Tuesday’s win over the Jazz.
  • NOP Guard-Forward #14
Micah Peavy amassed 20 points (9-of-13 FGs), four rebounds, two assists, two steals and two three-pointers in Tuesday’s win over the Jazz.
Peavy has not been a consistent member of the Pelicans’ rotation this season, which makes this part of the season that much more important for him. The 20 points were a season-high for the rookie wing, who finished a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line. Peavy’s contract for the 2025-26 season is guaranteed, so he is secure in that regard. The goal now is to solidify a spot in the rotation for himself.
  • NOP Guard #0
Jeremiah Fears tallied 40 points (17-of-29 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), five rebounds, six assists, three steals and one three-pointer in Tuesday’s win over the Jazz.
Given the many absences from the Pelicans’ rotation, Tuesday’s game was set up to be a showcase for Fears. The rookie guard took full advantage, as he set the Pelicans franchise rookie record for points in a game. And this wasn’t an inefficient 40, either. Fears shot over 50 percent from the field and committed just two turnovers. He was 1-of-7 from beyond the arc, but that’s the only negative to take away from the rookie’s performance.
  • NOP Guard #3
Jordan Poole accounted for 34 points (12-of-23 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), two rebounds, five assists, one steal, one block and seven three-pointers in Tuesday’s win over the Jazz.
Inserted into the Pelicans’ starting lineup due to the team’s many absences, Poole looked sharp on Tuesday. And he was at his best during the third quarter, with the veteran guard going off for 22 points in the frame. Poole finished with a complete stat line, providing excellent value to the few in active leagues brave enough to stream him. If the Pelicans remain as shorthanded as they were on Tuesday, Poole could put up some big numbers in the team’s final two games of the season.
  • CHA Guard #1
LaMelo Ball had 36 points (12-of-24 FGs, 6-of-6 FTs), five rebounds, six assists, one steal and six three-pointers in Tuesday’s loss to the Celtics.
Ball followed up his 35-point performance in Sunday’s win over the Timberwolves with 36 points against the Celtics, though the Hornets weren’t fortunate enough to win this time. The 24-year-old point guard has been as advertised this year. There were great highs and lows, but in the end Ball stayed healthy and provided fourth-round per game value over the course of the season. That’s a win for his fantasy managers this year.
