Jaden Ivey played 24 minutes in Sunday’s 142-113 loss to the Raptors, scoring nine points (3-of-10 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs) with three rebounds, and four assists.
With Killian Hayes out due to injury, Ivey made his first start of the season on Sunday. The second-year guard struggled mightily, missing all five of his 3-point attempts. The good news is that Ivey accumulated the four assists without committing a turnover, but Sunday’s performance won’t help his chances of holding onto the job long-term. Alec Burks finished with 14 points (3-of-9 FGs, 7-of-8 FTs), four rebounds, one assist, and one 3-pointer, while rookie Marcus Sasser tallied nine points, one rebound, six assists, one steal, and one 3-pointer. Burks didn’t shoot the ball well on Sunday, but he and Sasser may be the best options the Pistons have to slide in next to Cade Cunningham.
