Steve Kerr has agreed to a two-year, $35 million contract extension, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Kerr’s new deal makes him the highest-paid coach in NBA history on an annual basis, and this contract will likely be met with plenty of scrutiny. Golden State is just two years removed from winning the NBA Finals, but the team is 28-26 this season and the No. 10 seed in the Western Conference. It’s been a rocky season for the Warriors, but as Franklin Delano Roosevelt famously campaigned in 1940 and 1944, “Don’t swap horses in the middle of the stream.” Golden State will stick with a coach who has the most wins with the team, six championship appearances and four titles.

Kyrie Irving (knee) is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Spurs.

Irving is listed as questionable for left knee injury management reasons. If he’s able to go he’ll be the top option for the Mavericks with Cooper Flagg (shoulder) sidelined. If not, Dallas doesn’t stand much of a chance against the Spurs without their two best players.
HLs: Tatum leads Celtics past resilient Knicks
The New York Knicks closed the gap against Boston in the second half, but a clutch performance down the stretch by Jayson Tatum and a 36-point day staved off the defending champs for the Celtics' first win of the year.

Cooper Flagg (shoulder) is out for Saturday’s game against the Spurs.

No surprise here as Flagg left Friday night’s game against the Pacers with shoulder soreness. Expect the Mavericks to play through Kyrie Irving in his absence against the Spurs on Saturday.

AJ Dybantsa (ankle) is out for Saturday’s game against the Bulls.

Dybantsa is still yet to play this season due to a sprained left ankle. After being ruled out Saturday, his next chance to make his NBA debut is Monday against the Hornets.

Anthony Black (ankle) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Knicks.

Black has missed the first two games of the season, but at least has a chance to suit up Sunday given his questionable listing. With Paolo Banchero (ankle) likely out, the Magic could certainly use Black back in the lineup.

Grant Williams (hamstring) is out for Saturday’s game against the Heat.

Williams didn’t play in the first two games of the season and has since been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Heat. Royce O’Neale will continue to backup Naz Reid in his absence.

Christian Anderson (ankle) is probable for Saturday’s game against the Heat.

Anderson is listed as probable for Saturday’s game against the Heat with a left ankle sprain. He played 13 minutes and was held without a point in Wednesday’s win over the Nets. Anderson is a potentially attractive dynasty asset, but won’t provide much value in redraft leagues this year.

Reed Sheppard (knee) is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Hawks.

Sheppard missed Friday’s win over the Spurs after banging his knee in the season opener against the Mavericks. If he’s able to play, Sheppard could see a lot of usage with Fred VanVleet (knee) sitting out.

Steven Adams (calf) is out for Saturday’s game against the Hawks.

Adams played only eight minutes in Friday’s win over the Spurs. Sitting out Saturday with calf injury management, Adams doesn’t have much fantasy value at this point in his career.

Fred VanVleet (knee) is out for Saturday’s game against the Hawks.

VanVleet had 14 points in the win over the Spurs on Friday. He’ll sit out with right knee injury management against the Hawks on Saturday. Marcus Smart will likely start in his absence.

LeBron James (back) is out for Saturday’s game against the Bucks.

With the 76ers as the only team with four games in Week 1, it was always unlikely that LeBron would play in all four. With Joel Embiid off the injury report Saturday, it seems like those roles could be reversed Sunday against the Pistons with Embiid sitting out and LeBron active.
