Dalton Knecht finished with 25 points (9-of-18 FGs), eight rebounds and four three-pointers against the Spurs on Tuesday.
It took a few games, but the Knecht that we saw as a rookie finally showed up. He scored 11 points in the final 2:34 of this game to help the Lakers storm back after trailing by double digits with four minutes left. He wasn’t great in their last two games, so it was good to see him finally get his shot going. Hopefully this will carry over into the games in Las Vegas.

Keyonte George, Brice Sensabaugh, Cody Williams, Lauri Markkanen and Kevin Love will start Thursday’s game against the Mavericks.
The Jazz won’t have Jusuf Nurkić for Thursday’s game, as he is out with a toe injury. As a result, Love will step in as the starting center. The other change to the Jazz lineup is Williams, who replaces Svi Mykhailiuk in the starting five.
How current NBA era is evolving with ball movement
Austin Rivers and Pausha Haghighi dive into the current game of today's NBA, detailing how it is evolving into a familiar ball movement style of play in previous eras, but still making it its own.
  • LAL Forward #28
Rui Hachimura (calf) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Bucks.
Hachimura has missed the Lakers’ last five games with a strained right calf, and a return to action may not be far away. If he’s able to play on Friday, Jake LaRavia will be the player most affected. While LaRavia’s minutes would decrease, he may be worth holding onto in deep leagues to account for a potential minutes restriction for Hachimura.
  • LAL Forward #23
LeBron James (foot) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Bucks.
James did not play in Wednesday’s loss to the Spurs, which led to Jarred Vanderbilt making a spot start. Vanderbilt is more valuable as a defender than as a scorer, so he did not offer much fantasy value. James will be back in the starting lineup if he’s allowed to play on Friday.
  • POR Forward #9
Jerami Grant (Achilles) is out for Friday’s game against the Rockets.
Counting Friday, Grant will have missed Portland’s last 12 games with an injury the team said wasn’t “long-term.” With Kris Murray (back) also out, the Trail Blazers will once again turn to Sidy Cissoko to fill the void in the starting lineup.
  • POR Forward #24
Kris Murray (back) is out for Friday’s game against the Rockets.
Murray did not play in Wednesday’s win over the Rockets, opening up a place in the starting lineup for Sidy Cissoko. With Jerami Grant (Achilles) still out, Cissoko should get another start on Friday.
  • POR Guard #5
Jrue Holiday (calf) is doubtful for Friday’s game against the Rockets.
Sidelined since November 14, Holiday was cleared to resume on-court activities on New Year’s Day. He’s making progress, but the doubtful tag suggests that Holiday won’t be available on Friday. Deni Avdija will run the show as long as the Trail Blazers are shorthanded on the perimeter, and he’s played at an All-Star level this season.
  • UTA Center #30
Jusuf Nurkić (toe) is out for Thursday’s game against the Mavericks.
Initially questionable for Thursday’s game, Nurkić is now officially out. Kevin Love and Kyle Filipowski should see their minutes increase, with one moving into the starting lineup.
  • CHI Guard #0
Tre Jones, Coby White, Isaac Okoro, Matas Buzelis and Nikola Vučević will start Thursday’s game against the Heat.
White is back after sitting out Wednesday’s loss to the Pistons. With Kevin Huerter (back) unavailable, White can easily slide into the starting lineup without bumping anyone to the bench. White will be under a limit of 24-26 minutes.
  • DAL Guard #10
Brandon Williams (heel) is available for Thursday’s game against the Jazz.
Initially probable for Thursday’s game, Williams is officially available. He’s come off the bench recently, but that has not negatively affected his playing time. Whichever guard plays more between Williams and Ryan Nembhard depends mainly on who has the hot hand.
  • MIA Guard #14
Davion Mitchell, Tyler Herro, Norman Powell, Andrew Wiggins and Bam Adebayo will start Thursday’s game against the Bulls.
After coming off the bench in his first game back from a right great toe injury, Herro has returned to the starting lineup. As a result, Kel’el Ware will come off the bench. While his ceiling is slightly lower with the demotion, Ware should still be rostered in most leagues.
