Nikola Jokić finished Thursday’s win over the Kings with 36 points (14-of-16 FGs, 6-of-8 FTs), 12 rebounds, eight assists, two steals and two three-pointers.
Jokić was well on his way to a 12th triple-double of the season, but the nature of Thursday’s game got in the way. Denver held a 28-point lead at the end of the third quarter, so there was no need for the three-time MVP to go back into the game. So, Jokić managers will have to settle for his 22nd double-double and tenth game of the season with at least 30 points. Unfortunately for those who have him rostered, the Nuggets don’t play again until Monday night against the Rockets.
  • TOR Forward #77

Jamison Battle (ankle) is available for Monday’s game against the Heat.
After a two-game absence, Battle has been cleared to play on Monday. However, he has not taken on a prominent role within the Raptors’ rotation on nights when starting center Jakob Poeltl is available. Leave Battle on the waiver wire.
Wembanyama returns with a bang against OKC
Eric Samulski discusses Victor Wembanyama's sensational return from a calf injury that helped propel the Spurs to the NBA Cup final and how the rest of the team was affected by his reintroduction into the lineup.
  • Kasparas Jakučionis (ankle) is available for Monday’s game against the Raptors.
Injuries have limited Jakučionis to one appearance this season, a December 1 win over the Clippers in which he played 54 seconds. While the first-round pick is worth holding onto in dynasty leagues, there’s no reason to consider Jakučionis for redraft formats.
  • BOS Guard #11
Payton Pritchard (neck) is available for Monday’s game against the Pistons.
Added to the Celtics’ injury report early Monday afternoon, Pritchard has been cleared to play after going through an individual workout. He’ll occupy his usual place in the starting lineup, with Anfernee Simons missing out on a boost to his fantasy value.
  • UTA Forward #31
Georges Niang (foot) will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Sidelined by a stress reaction in the fourth metatarsal of his left foot, Niang has yet to appear in a game this season. According to the Jazz, it will be at least two more weeks before he has the opportunity to play. Niang’s continued absence does not directly affect fantasy basketball, but it does leave more minutes available for some of Utah’s younger frontcourt players.
  • DAL Guard #10
Brandon Williams (Achilles) is questionable for Monday’s matchup with the Jazz.
Williams is a late addition to the injury report, so he’s in danger of sitting out Monday’s tilt with Utah. With D’Angelo Russell (illness) also sidelined, Dallas’ backcourt will be sorely shorthanded. Ryan Nembhard could be in for a hefty workload.
  • ORL Guard #4
According to ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk, Jalen Suggs underwent an MRI, revealing a left high hip contusion.
Youngmisuk notes that Suggs’ return timeline will depend on how he responds to treatment. With Franz Wagner still on the shelf, Anthony Black could see a major boost in playing time and usage, though he already started each of Orlando’s last two games. Tristan da Silva may be in line for an expanded role as well.
  • BOS Guard #11
Payton Pritchard (neck) is questionable for Monday’s matchup with the Pistons.
Pritchard is a late addition to the injury report, and there’s a chance he’ll be sidelined for the first time this season. If that’s the case, Anfernee Simons could join the first unit for the first time in a Celtics uniform.
  • TOR Forward-Guard #9
According to Raptors reporter Blake Murphy, RJ Barrett will begin “return-to-play” activities this week.
Barrett - who last played on November 23 - will remain out on Monday against the Heat. Toronto plays three more games in Week 9, so it’s possible Barrett could get back on the court for one of them. Until then, Jamal Shead is a worthwhile streamer in deeper leagues.
  • GSW Forward #23
Draymond Green (foot) accumulated 14 points (5-of-8 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), eight rebounds, seven assists, three steals, one block and eight three-pointers in Sunday’s loss to the Trail Blazers.
Green was back in the Warriors’ lineup after missing three games with a foot injury. The good news for those who have him rostered is that the veteran forward put up a complete stat line. The bad news is that Green’s final line included eight turnovers, a reminder that there are some things for him to clean up. The Warriors play two games in Week 9, a Thursday/Saturday home-and-home against the Suns.
  • GSW Forward #10
Jimmy Butler tallied 16 points (3-of-11 FGs, 10-of-11 FTs), seven rebounds, four assists and three steals in Sunday’s loss to the Trail Blazers.
Butler did most of his damage offensively at the foul line, and he moved into 38th on the NBA’s all-time free throws made list on Sunday. Fantasy managers will be satisfied with the rebounds, assists and steals, but the scoring output was underwhelming. Butler is providing third-round value in eight-cat formats, and availability has not been a serious issue for him thus far. He’ll look to do more offensively when the Warriors visit the Suns on Thursday.
