Donovan Mitchell finished Monday’s win over the Hornets with 30 points (10-of-18 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), four rebounds, five assists and six three-pointers.
After sitting out Friday’s loss to the Hornets with an illness, Mitchell looked spry in Monday’s rematch. He’s scored at least 30 points in 16 of his 27 appearances, including the last two. Mitchell’s return pushed Tyrese Proctor out of the rotation, as he only played the final two minutes. The Cavaliers host the Pelicans on Tuesday; if Mitchell doesn’t play, there may be room for Proctor in the starting five if Sam Merrill doesn’t play.

Jonas Valančiūnas (illness) is probable for Thursday’s game against the Timberwolves.
Valančiūnas was dealing with an illness ahead of Denver’s last two games but ultimately filled his usual role as Nikola Jokić’s backup. The probable tag suggests that the veteran center will be able to take on those responsibilities on Thursday night.

  • MIN Forward #3
Jaden McDaniels (oblique) is probable for Thursday’s game against the Nuggets.
McDaniels is on track to return to action after a one-game absence. If he’s cleared, Mike Conley would most likely return to the bench, which would be a hit to his already-low fantasy value.
  • DEN Forward #23
ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Cameron Johnson (knee) will be re-evaluated in four to six weeks.
Johnson hyperextended his right knee during Tuesday’s loss to the Mavericks and was diagnosed with a bone bruise. With Christian Braun and Aaron Gordon still out, the Nuggets will be down three starters for the foreseeable future. Johnson’s absence opens the door for Bruce Brown and Tim Hardaway Jr. to step up. While the latter is mainly a three-point specialist, the former can be more useful to fantasy managers needing production across the board.
  • LAL Forward-Guard #77
Luka Dončić (leg) is now probable for Thursday’s game against the Rockets.
Initially questionable after a one-game absence, Dončić is on track to return Thursday night. If so, he would push Nick Smith Jr. to the bench, and potentially out of the rotation entirely.
  • LAL Center-Forward #11
Jaxson Hayes (ankle) is out for Thursday’s game against the Rockets.
Hayes will miss Thursday’s game with a sore left ankle. The good news for the Lakers is that Deandre Ayton (elbow) is back, so he’ll play most of the available minutes at the center position. Hayes’ absence likely means that Jarred Vanderbilt will spend some time at center when Ayton sits.
  • MIN Guard #8
Bones Hyland (illness) is questionable for Thursday’s game against the Nuggets.
Hyland is a late addition to the Timberwolves’ injury report. How impactful his absence would be if he can’t play depends on Jaden McDaniels (oblique), who is also questionable. If McDaniels plays, the minutes available to Hyland would decrease.
  • NYK Guard #11
Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns will start Thursday’s game against the Cavaliers.
Brunson and Anunoby are back after sitting out Tuesday’s loss to the Timberwolves. Their returns push Tyler Kolek and Mitchell Robinson to the bench, lowering the fantasy ceiling of the former. As for Robinson, coming off the bench may be better for him given the injury history.
  • CLE Center #4
Evan Mobley (calf) is available for Thursday’s game against the Knicks.
Thursday’s game will be Mobley’s first since December 12, when he suffered a strained calf during a win over the Wizards. He was given a timeframe of two to four weeks, so the Cavaliers’ forward/center is back a little earlier than expected. While fantasy managers should expect a minutes restriction of some kind, Mobley doesn’t need to log heavy minutes to have an impact. He will come off the bench, leaving Dean Wade in the starting lineup.
  • NYK Forward #28
Guerschon Yabusele (illness) is available for Thursday’s game against the Cavaliers.
Yabusele is good to go after missing Tuesday’s loss to the Timberwolves. However, he has not been guaranteed rotation minutes recently, so the forward’s availability does not affect fantasy basketball.
  • LAL Forward #28
Rui Hachimura (groin) is probable for Thursday’s game against the Rockets.
Hachimura is on the injury report for right groin injury management reasons. It looks like the 27-year-old small forward will return to the starting lineup, though, given his probable listing. Jake LaRavia will likely head back to the Lakers’ bench with Hachimura back.
