Jordan Goodwin finished with a career-high 26 points (9-of-16 FGs) and four rebounds over 30 minutes off the bench during Sunday’s win over the Thunder.
Goodwin put together one of the best shooting performances of his career in this one, setting new career-high marks for points (26) and three-pointers (eight) as he knocked down a surreal 8-of-13 from beyond the arc. It was the third 20-point performance of his career. His combination of scoring upside and strong rebounding give him some appeal in deeper fantasy leagues but he’ll need to stay hot from distance to be a reliable option.

Bub Carrington finished with 11 points (3-of-4 FGs), two rebounds, nine assists, one steal and three three-pointers on Friday against the Kings.
Carrington returned to the starting lineup for this game with Bilal Coulibaly (back) and Khris Middleton (knee) sidelined. He was able to bounce back after struggling in Wednesday’s loss where he shot 1-of-11. In this game, he was efficient as a shooter and nearly recorded his first double-double of the season. Carrington likely won’t remain in that role consistently, but he was able to have a productive night in an increased role. He could start again in Denver on Saturday, assuming Coulibaly and Middleton weren’t both just resting on the first night of a back-to-back.
HLs: Durant torches Timberwolves in win
Watch Houston Rockets wing Kevin Durant rack up 39 points in a tight win over the Minnesota Timberwolves Friday night.
  • WAS Center #20
Alex Sarr led the Wizards with 19 points (8-of-12 FGs), four rebounds, three assists and one block against the Kings on Friday.
Sarr had a big first half for Washington and entered the break with 18 points. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to contribute much after halftime. Sarr has had a strong second season, and the first half was indicative of that. He didn’t do much else in the box score, but that hasn’t been the case for more of the year. He’ll look to bounce back in Denver on Saturday, which should be a favorable matchup with Nikola Jokic and Jonas Valanciunas still sidelined.
  • Russell Westbrook led the Kings with 26 points (9-of-14 FGs), two rebounds, six assists, one steal and six three-pointers on Friday against the Wizards.
Westbrook fell one point shy of matching his season high for points, but it was the efficiency of his shooting that made this performance so good. He also set a new season high for three-pointers, which was enough to help the Kings win a fourth straight game. The counting stats have been consistent for Russ this year, though they could drop as Domantas Sabonis ramps up. For now, managers shouldn’t expect this level of efficiency often, but Westbrook should see enough usage to continue providing value.
  • SAC Forward #9
Precious Achiuwa finished with 16 points (7-of-8 FGs), six rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one three-pointer against the Wizards on Friday.
Achiuwa has been starting for the Kings with Keegan Murray (ankle) sidelined. He has had a few strong performances scattered, but the last four games have been his best. During that stretch, he’s averaging 13.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 61.1 percent from the floor. As long as he continues to start, he’ll have upside as a streamer, especially if he continues to play 33.8 minutes per game like he has during this four-game stretch.
  • SAC Forward-Center #11
Domantas Sabonis returned to the lineup on Friday and contributed 13 points (5-of-6 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), six rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block in a 128-115 win over the Wizards.
After missing nearly two months with a partially-torn meniscus, Sabonis was available to take on the Wizards. Though he came off the bench, he did enough to help the Kings win their fourth straight game. He played 21 minutes and was productive during his time on the floor, which is a great sign for the fantasy managers that have been patiently waiting for him to return. his role should increase as he plays more games, and Maxime Raynaud will eventually return to playing a role off the bench. For now, it was just good to have Sabonis back out on the floor.
  • MIN Center #27
Rudy Gobert recorded a double-double on Friday with 10 points (4-of-7 FGs, 2-of-10 FTs), 13 rebounds, one assist, two steals and two blocks against the Rockets.
Gobert added another double-double to his season total and was able to make a big impact on the defensive end. However, it was an abysmal night for him from the free throw line. Both teams struggled in that department; Minnesota shot 20-of-35 on free throws, while Houston shot 20-of-34. The struggles seemed to be contagious, but nobody got hit harder than Gobert. Still, managers aren’t relying on Gobert for help in that category, and he was able to contribute in enough other areas to make up for it.
  • MIN Center-Forward #11
Naz Reid provided a boost off the bench with 25 points (8-of-12 FGs), 10 rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and five triples against the Rockets on Friday.
Reid returned to the bench with Rudy Gobert back after serving a one-game suspension, but that didn’t slow down his scoring. This was his third 20-point double-double of the season, and over his last four games, Reid is averaging 21.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.0 steal, 1.0 block and 3.8 triples per game. This was one of his best performances of the season, and he’ll look to stay hot in San Antonio on Saturday.
  • MIN Forward-Center #30
Julius Randle led the Timberwolves with 39 points (14-of-25 FGs, 9-of-11 FTs), four rebounds, two assists, one block, two triples and five turnovers in a 110-105 loss to the Rockets on Friday.
With Anthony Edwards (foot) out for a second straight game, Randle stepped up as the primary scorer in his place. He set a new season high for scoring, but it wasn’t enough for Minnesota to walk away with a win. Still, Randle has scored 68 points over their last two games with Edwards unavailable, and he should continue to be a focal point of the offense as long as Edwards is out. Next up on the schedule is a matchup with the Spurs on Saturday.
  • HOU Forward #7
Kevin Durant led the Rockets with 39 points (11-of-18 FGs, 11-of-14 FTs), four rebounds, seven assists, two steals, one block, six three-pointers and five turnovers in a 110-105 win over the Timberwolves on Friday.
On Thursday, Durant had one of his worst shooting performances of the season in a blowout loss to the Thunder. However, he was able to respond with one of his best games of the year. The turnovers and free throws were suboptimal, but he set a new season high for scoring and was still effective as a playmaker. Durant hasn’t been as effective this year as he’s been in the past, but he’s still more than capable of outings like this from time to time.
  • HOU Center #28
Alperen Şengün recorded a double-double on Friday with 25 points (11-of-22 FGs, 3-of-9 FTs), 14 rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block against the Timberwolves.
Though it was an abysmal night from the free throw line, Şengün was able to record his third-straight double-double while posting a full stat line. The poor free throw percentage dragged his overall value down in this game, but he was able to do enough for help Houston get the win before fouling out late in the game. They’ll wrap up the week against the Pelicans on Sunday, which is a favorable matchup for Şengün to have another big night.
