Tyus Jones, Naji Marshall, Khris Middleton, P.J. Washington and Daniel Gafford will start Friday’s game against the Timberwolves.
Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd told reporters that Jones will start on Friday. He’ll replace Max Christie (ankle) in the opening unit to provide the team with some playmaking and ball-handling at the lead guard position. Jones was recently acquired by the Mavericks via trade; he’s averaging 3.0 points and 4.3 assists in 17.0 minutes per game in his three appearances with Dallas. Joining Jones in the starting lineup are Naji Marshall, Khris Middleton, P.J. Washington and Daniel Gafford.

Tolu Smith (knee) is available for Saturday’s game against the Bulls.
Smith played 18 minutes off the bench in Thursday’s win over the Knicks as he served as Paul Reed’s backup with Jalen Duren and Isaiah Stewart suspended. With Duren’s suspension over now, Smith will likely fall out of the Pistons’ usual rotation.
HLs: Edwards torches Mavericks, scores 40 points
Anthony Edwards returned to Minnesota with his All-Star Game MVP award and scored 40 points to help the Timberwolves beat Dallas 122-111. Edwards, who has eight 40-point games this season, had 14 in the fourth quarter.
  • MEM Forward-Guard #5
Kyle Anderson (knee) is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Heat.
Anderson will continue to have an increased role with Santi Aldama (knee) out, but only if he’s available himself. The 32-year-old forward is questionable with a knee injury of his own. Anderson is only worth streaming in deeper formats if he’s starting.
  • MEM Guard #4
Walter Clayton Jr. (calf) is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Heat.
Clayton has missed the last three games with a right calf contusion. He at least has a chance to return Saturday given his questionable listing. Cam Spencer and Javon Small could see more minutes if Clayton is out again, though neither are worth streaming in most fantasy leagues.
  • MEM Guard #23
Cedric Coward (knee) is out for Saturday’s game against the Heat.
Coward hurt his knee in the Grizzlies’ last game before the All-Star break and ended up missing Friday’s game against the Jazz with the same injury. The team is holding the 22-year-old guard out again Saturday. Taylor Hendricks started and had nine points and nine rebounds in Coward’s absence Friday.
  • MEM Forward-Center #7
Santi Aldama (knee) is out for Saturday’s game against the Heat.
Aldama is still dealing with right knee injury management, which has resulted in him appearing in one game over the last three weeks. Lawson Lovering started and had 11 points and 11 rebounds against the Jazz Friday in Aldama’s absence.
  • NOP Center #21
Yves Missi (calf) is out for Saturday’s game against the 76ers.
Missi is set to miss his third game in a row with a calf injury. Karlo Matkovic and Kevon Looney figure to take on the center duties for New Orleans in Missi’s absence, though neither are worth streaming in most fantasy leagues.
  • NOP Forward #25
Trey Murphy (shoulder) is out for Saturday’s game against the 76ers.
Murphy hurt his shoulder in the Pelicans’ final game before the All-Star break and is now set to miss the first two games of the second half of the season. Jeremiah Fears figures to start and have a higher fantasy ceiling with Murphy sidelined.
  • NOP Guard #5
Dejounte Murray (Achilles) is doubtful for Saturday’s game against the 76ers.
Murray hasn’t played yet this season after tearing his Achilles last season, but Pelicans coach James Borrego said he expects Murray to be back playing next week. The 29-year-old point guard isn’t likely to play Saturday given his doubtful listing, but his return isn’t far off. Jeremiah Fears will end up losing some minutes to Murray once he’s back.
  • MIA Guard #12
Dru Smith (calf) is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Grizzlies.
Smith played only three minutes in the win over the Hawks on Friday. While he’s questionable with a calf injury for Saturday’s game against the Grizzlies, he could see more minutes if he’s available with Davion Mitchell (illness) doubtful.
  • MIA Forward #5
Nikola Jović (back) is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Grizzlies.
Jović’s status is up in the air as he’s listed as questionable with lower back tightness for Saturday’s game against the Grizzlies. If Jović is ruled out, Simone Fontecchio and Jaime Jaquez Jr. could see extra minutes.
