Tre Johnson (back, foot) is out for Thursday’s game against the Bulls.

In addition to a sprained right foot, Johnson is dealing with a sore lower back. Leaky Black started Tuesday’s loss to the Bulls, but he was limited to 24 minutes, so fantasy managers in active leagues should not expect too big of a boost to his playing time.

Jett Howard (calf) is questionable to play against the Pacers on Friday.

Howard is trending in the right direction after initially being expected to miss a third straight game to start the year. With Cooper Flagg (shoulder) out and Kyrie Irving (knee) doubtful, Howard could end up seeing rotation minutes if he plays, though not enough to warrant fantasy consideration.
HLs: Tatum leads Celtics past resilient Knicks
The New York Knicks closed the gap against Boston in the second half, but a clutch performance down the stretch by Jayson Tatum and a 36-point day staved off the defending champs for the Celtics' first win of the year.

Morez Johnson Jr. (shin) is now probable for Saturday’s game against the Spurs.

Johnson, who played 17 minutes off the bench in Friday’s win over the Pacers, was initially questionable for Saturday’s game due to right shin splints. The rookie is on track to play, giving the Mavericks another defensive option to throw at Victor Wembanyama.

Kyrie Irving (knee) is not doubtful to play against the Spurs on Saturday.

Irving was initially listed as questionable but is now expected to miss Saturday’s game. It’s the second leg of a back-to-back, and Cooper Flagg (shoulder) is sidelined, so they apparently don’t want to put too much on Irving’s knee. Marcus Sasser should get the start at point guard, with Walter Clayton Jr. taking on a larger role off the bench.

Zaccharie Risacher (hip) is now probable for Saturday’s game against the Spurs.

Dealing with a sore right hip, Risacher was initially questionable for Saturday’s game. With Cooper Flagg (shoulder) out and Kyrie Irving (knee) downgraded to doubtful, Risacher may have more offensive opportunities. However, Naji Marshall is a better option for managers seeking a streamer.

Jose Alvarado (ankle) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Magic.

Alvarado, who played 11 minutes in Friday’s loss to the Celtics, is dealing with a sprained left ankle. If he can’t play, his absence would hurt the Knicks’ rotation more than fantasy basketball. Tyler Kolek could slide into the back end of the rotation, but he’s unlikely to get the minutes needed to merit being streamed in fantasy leagues.

Pelle Larsson (finger) is available to play against the Hornets on Saturday.

Larsson was initially listed as probable, and he has now officially been cleared to suit up. He has played a significant role off the bench this season, though he hasn’t been able to find his shot yet.

Patrick Williams (groin) is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Wizards.

Williams, a DNP-CD in Chicago’s first two games of the season, is on the injury report with right adductor/groin soreness and tightness. His availability won’t affect fantasy basketball, as he hasn’t been in head coach Tiago Splitter’s rotation.

Noa Essengue (head) is now questionable to play against the Wizards on Saturday.

Essengue was initially listed as probable for this game, but his status has been downgraded. Patrick Williams (groin) has been added to the injury report as questionable, though he would be in line for extra minutes if he plays and Essengue doesn’t. Rookie Dailyn Swain is another option to take on more minutes if both Essengue and Williams are out.

Tyrese Haliburton (Achilles) is not on the injury report for Sunday’s game against the Nets.

Sunday’s game is the first of two in as many days for the Pacers, who visit the Bucks on Monday. After missing so much time following his Achilles rupture during the 2025 NBA Finals, Haliburton may not be at a point where the Pacers feel comfortable with him playing back-to-backs. Since he’s available on Sunday, Haliburton may not play in Indiana’s first game of Week 2.

Aaron Nesmith (hamstring) is probable to play against the Nets on Sunday.

Nesmith missed the season opener with this hamstring injury, but he was able to play on Friday despite a questionable tag. He played 20 minutes off the bench in that game and should play a similar role against Brooklyn. He should eventually replace Jarace Walker in the starting lineup, but it’s unclear if that will happen in this game.
