Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol will be sidelined on Thursday night when the Chicago Bulls play the Sacramento Kings, according to Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau.
Rose has missed the Bulls’ last two games after injuring his left hamstring last Thursday against the Toronto Raptors. Gasol sat out the Bulls’ Monday win over the Clippers in Los Angeles with a left calf strain.

Rose has missed the Bulls’ last two games after injuring his left hamstring last Thursday against the Toronto Raptors. Gasol sat out the Bulls’ Monday win over the Clippers in Los Angeles with a left calf strain.
The two injuries appear to be minor, although Rose’s has been subject to more scrutiny given that he’s coming off two major knee surgeries the last two seasons and sprains in both ankles earlier this season. He likely won’t return until next week at the earliest. Gasol is still day-to-day and could play Friday against the Portland Trail Blazers.
So far, the Bulls are 6-0 on the road, winning games without many key players at various points. But the loss of Gasol is a major blow that gives the Bulls one less body to put on DeMarcus Cousins. Kirk Hinrich and Taj Gibson will likely start for Rose and Gasol, respectively.
