Steve Nash says Steph Curry is the greatest shooter in NBA history

As regular-season and postseason three-point records fall and Stephen Curry continues to far outpace the likes of Ray Allen and Reggie Miller, he can’t simply be looked at as the greatest shooter of his generation. There’s a growing case that he’s the greatest shooter in the history of basketball.

That’s certainly the conclusion that many of the all-time greats are coming to. One of the most vocal members of the Curry fan club is the just-retired Steve Nash, himself in that conversation. He had some insights on just what makes Curry so great in a new interview with Bleacher Report’s Ric Bucher:

“Steph takes it to another level,” Nash said. “I was able to do it going left and right, and we can both do it at speed, but I was always trying to get to the three-point line. He can do it from deeper and, frankly, I never took a step-back. He has no trouble taking a step-back and making it. You add that to all the other shots. It could be a clincher in this game of deciding who’s the best.”

Bucher’s story also features heavy praise for Curry from the likes of Kiki Vandeweghe and Dana Barros. At age 27, that’s already intimidating company to be in. And if the Warriors prevail in the NBA Finals this month, that’s yet another notch in Curry’s belt. As it is, it’s becoming harder and harder to deny the historical greatness of Curry as a shooter.
