Spurs selected Ja’Kobi Gillespie with the No. 42 pick in the NBA Draft.

After two seasons at Belmont and one at Maryland, the 6-foot, 182-pound Gillespie transferred to Tennessee for his senior season. Appearing in 37 games, he averaged 18.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 2.1 steals and 2.8 three-pointers, shooting 41.0 percent from the field and 81.4 percent from the foul line. Gillespie’s speed and acumen helped him compensate for the lack of size, and that will need to remain the case at the next level. In San Antonio, his ability to defend will give him a chance to fight for minutes on the back end of the rotation. Gillespie may not offer much in redraft leagues, but he’s worth having on a roster in dynasty leagues.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports Utah is signing Josh Okogie for the 2026-27 season.

The veteran team will join his fifth NBA team after agreeing to a deal with the Jazz. Okogie, known for his defensive versatility, spent last season with the Rockets, where he averaged 4.5 points across 78 regular-season games. He’s unlikely to see significant enough playing time to produce at a level that is valuable for fantasy basketball next season.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports Jordan Miller has signed a three-year, $15.3 million deal with the Clippers.

Miller entered restricted free agency this summer but opted to return to the Clippers for another three seasons. They selected him with the 48th pick in 2023, and after playing sparingly through his first two seasons, he took on a much larger role for the Clippers over the final three months of last year. With Keaton Wagler, Brandon Ingram and Gradey Dick now in town, Miller’s role may look smaller than it did down the stretch of last season.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports the Lakers have traded Deandre Ayton to the Wizards in exchange for Jaden Hardy and two second-round picks.

The second-round picks are in 2031 and 2032. The Lakers recently acquired Walker Kessler to be the team’s starting center, and they’ll offload Ayton just a few days after he picked up his player option for next season. He’ll now likely be the backup center behind Alex Sarr, which eliminates most of the fantasy value that he had this past season. However, he should be one of the better backup bigs in the league and has streaming upside if the Wizards face an injury in the frontcourt to either Sarr or Anthony Davis.
