ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Koby Brea has signed a new, two-way deal to return to the Suns.

The second-year man out of Kentucky appeared in 12 games for Phoenix as a rookie and erupted for a 20 points in the season finale against Oklahoma City. He’s unlikely to see enough run in Year 2 to warrant consideration in fantasy basketball leagues.

Williams played a career-best 61 games last season, though he ended up missing the entirety of the Suns’ first-round series against the Thunder and only played in one of their two play-in games. However, he was still effective when he was on the floor, and Phoenix likely won’t let the 24-year-old walk for cheap. He should be penciled in as their starting center for next season, though Khaman Maluach’s development could alter the Suns’ stance on how much their willing to match on an offer sheet for Williams. Brea was a summer league standout in 2025 and will likely play for the Suns’ squad again, though he is likely still far off from being a rotational player for them.
  • PHX Guard #14
The summer league star hasn’t played much during his rookie season, but with the Suns locked in as the seventh seed, he played 29 minutes off the bench, which led to the best offensive performance of his career. Brea showed a ton of scoring potential this summer, which is why Phoenix added him with the 41st pick. He likely won’t see the floor during the postseason, but this was an encouraging performance for him.
  • PHX Shooting Guard
The 55th overall pick in last month’s draft, Brea’s start in Las Vegas has been encouraging. Having scored 19 points in his summer debut on Friday, the rookie wing had another solid performance against the Hawks. Phoenix has a surplus of wings on its roster, which limits Brea’s short-term fantasy upside. However, the three-point shooting and defense make him an intriguing prospect in deeper dynasty leagues.
  • GSW Shooting Guard
Golden State made this pick, but it’s headed to Phoenix as part of a trade reported earlier Thursday. Brea played four years at Dayton before joining Kentucky for his fifth and final collegiate season. The 6'6, 202-pound wing finished the 2024-25 campaign with averages of 11.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 2.6 triples. He shot 43.5% from beyond the arc last season and a blistering 49.5 percent from downtown the season prior. Brea has obvious potential as a three-point specialist in the NBA, though it’s unknown if he can impact other areas of the game. Heading to Phoenix, he can provide high-level catch-and-shoot ability for a team that must account for Kevin Durant’s departure via trade. However, he’s joining a team that is loaded with wings, which may complicate things regarding Brea’s ability to crack the rotation as a rookie.

Henri Veesaar finished Tuesday’s game with 11 points (4-of-9 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and two three-pointers in the win over the Grizzlies.

Veesaar logged 24 minutes and showcased some of the long-distance shooting that made him an intriguing prospect. He finished as one of six Hawks players to score in double figures, with his four assists being a nice bonus. Veesaar was selected in the second round of the most recent draft and could have a chance to play minutes for the Hawks this season. His progress will be worth following throughout the summer.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that the Grizzlies are acquiring D’Angelo Russell from the Wizards in a trade.

The details from the reported six-team trade are still unfolding, but what’s already known is that Russell is heading to Memphis. The veteran guard had a tough 2025-26 season, playing just 26 total games with the Mavericks before being traded to the Wizards and never logging a minute for Washington. He’ll likely have a chance to play decent minutes for a Grizzlies team that recently traded away its superstar point guard, Ja Morant. If so, Russell could have some value in fantasy leagues this upcoming season.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Khris Middleton has agreed to a three-year deal with the Washington Wizards as part of a multiple-team sign-and-trade.

Middleton will head back to the Wizards, a team he spent parts of the past two seasons with. The veteran was dealt from the Wizards to the Mavericks during the 2025-26 season, but in the 34 games he appeared in before being traded, he averaged 10.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists. He’s unlikely to be much of a factor in fantasy basketball next season.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that the Pistons are acquiring Gary Harris and Taurean Prince from the Bucks via trade in exchange for Caris LeVert and second-round picks.

The veteran guard will now head to his fourth NBA team after the reported trade between the Bucks and Pistons. Harris has seen his fantasy value decline since leaving Denver via trade in the 2020-21 season, with his minutes and scoring decreasing in each of the past four seasons. He averaged 2.7 points over 48 games for Milwaukee last season and is not expected to be fantasy-relevant with the Pistons.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that the Pistons are acquiring Taurean Prince and Gary Harris from the Bucks via trade in exchange for Caris LeVert and second-round picks.

The multi-player deal will allow Prince to have a fresh start in Detroit and compete for playing time on a contending team. Detroit has a fairly established roster following a first-place finish in the Eastern Conference last season, which will make it difficult for Prince to find enough opportunities to have much fantasy impact. He averaged 9.2 points in only 26 appearances with Milwaukee during the 2025-26 season.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that the Pistons are sending Caris LeVert and two second-round picks to the Bucks in exchange for Taurean Prince and Gary Harris.

LeVert logged the fewest minutes per game of his career last season in Detroit and, as a result, was as inefficient and unproductive a scorer as ever. His move to Milwaukee will give him an opportunity to compete for playing time on a team that isn’t anticipated to contend after trading away franchise cornerstone Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat early this offseason. Still, LeVert is not expected to hold much fantasy value for the 2026-27 season.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that the Lakers and Kevon Looney have agreed to a one-year, $3.9 million contract.

The 30th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, Looney is back in the Pacific Division after one season with the New Orleans Pelicans. Having spent his entire NBA career outside of the 2024-25 campaign with the Warriors, the veteran center was limited to just 21 appearances last season. While Looney will give the Lakers the needed depth at center behind new starter Walker Kessler, he’s unlikely to have an impact on fantasy basketball.

NBA Insider Marc Stein reports Tarik Biberovic will sign a two-year, $6 million contract with the Mavericks.

Biberovic was drafted by Memphis in the second round in 2023, but he never came over to the NBA, outside of summer league. Dallas acquired Biberovic in a trade, and he’ll finally make the trip across the sea to sign with the Mavericks.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports Jalen Brunson is “undergoing surgery on his left wrist and is expected to return to basketball activities later this summer.”

While this shouldn’t impact Brunson’s availability to start next season, it does make his Finals MVP run even more impressive. Scoring 45 points in a closeout win while dealing with an injury in his shooting wrist is just another testament to Brunson’s resilience. He’ll still have plenty of time to get in shape prior to training camp.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports the Cavaliers and Donovan Mitchell have agreed to a four-year, $273 million contract extension.

This is a monster extension for Mitchell, and he’ll have a player option for the 2030-31 season. That would have him making north of $75 million when he’s 34 years old. It may not age well, but Cleveland is going to be competitive for at least the next few years, and the commitment to winning could help them lure LeBron James back home.
