Damian Lillard finished Wednesday’s exhibition against the Warriors with 15 points (5-of-11 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), one rebound, one assist, two steals and three three-pointers.

Appearing in a game for the first time since the 2025 NBA Playoffs, Lillard looked sharp in his 19 minutes. Coming off a ruptured Achilles tendon, he started alongside newcomer Ja Morant and did most of his work off the ball. Lillard will be a key figure for the Trail Blazers this season, but his assist production may take a slight hit with Morant’s arrival. That said, Lillard simply being on the court is a win for fantasy managers and basketball in general.
In prolific rookie race, Boozer is most NBA-ready
In what profiles to be a prolific rookie of the year race, Chris Mannix and Grant Liffmann unpack their ladder, highlighting Cam Boozer as the most "NBA-ready" player and a case for an end-of-lottery pick.

Damian Lillard didn’t play in Monday’s exhibition, and his absence opened a starting spot for Holiday. Like the other starters, the veteran guard was done at halftime. The move to the bench lowers Holiday’s fantasy ceiling considerably, giving managers no reason to use a top-100 pick on him. However, he should play enough to provide reliable late-round value in most leagues.

Lillard, who did not play last season while recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon, was cleared to resume 5-on-5 in late April, so his statement at Trail Blazers media day is not a surprise. Lillard said that he’s “operating like I wasn’t hurt,” which is music to the ears of fantasy managers. However, one concern as he begins his second stint in Portland is the team’s perimeter depth. The Trail Blazers acquired Ja Morant from Memphis, and they also have holdovers Jrue Holiday and Scoot Henderson. That may lead to Lillard’s workload being managed early in the season, potentially lowering his fantasy ceiling.
  • POR Guard #0
Lillard ruptured his Achilles tendon during last season’s playoffs, missing the entire 2025-26 campaign as a result. The veteran guard, who turns 36 in July, appears to be on track to return to action next season, as he has resumed playing 5-on-5. Lillard also noted on Thursday that, while nothing was ever said about him possibly playing this season, he did think about the possibility. With Lillard back in the fold, the Trail Blazers should be in a position to take a step forward after earning the No. 7 seed in this year’s playoffs.
  • POR Guard #0
Lillard’s score of 29 in the final round was enough to beat Kon Knueppel, who had 17, and Devin Booker, who had 27. The 35-year-old point guard won the three-point contest for the third time in his career, tying Larry Bird and Craig Hodges for most in NBA history. Lillard is out for the season after rupturing his left Achilles during last year’s playoffs.
  • POR Guard #5
Holiday, acquired from the Celtics during the offseason, only played 17 minutes in his unofficial Trail Blazers’ debut. The veteran guard did not shoot the ball well, but he was solid otherwise, making plays for others and committing just one turnover on the night. With Scoot Henderson likely to miss the start of the regular season with a torn left hamstring and Damian Lillard out for the season as he recovers from a ruptured Achilles, Holiday will have to take on point guard duties for the foreseeable future. After seeing his fantasy value take a hit in Boston last season, Holiday will be worth the investment in Portland.

Lillard ruptured his left Achilles tendon during the Bucks’ first-round series against the Pacers. Planning on doing his rehab in Portland, the guard agreed to a multi-year deal with the Trail Blazers after Milwaukee bought out his contract. Lillard’s declaration that he doesn’t plan on attempting to play this season is unsurprising, but there had been no official declaration from him or the team. With his comments on Monday, fantasy managers don’t need to consider stashing Lillard with a late-round pick. This will be a critical season for Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe, as both will take on significant roles with Lillard sidelined and Anfernee Simons now a member of the Celtics.
  • POR Point Guard #0
The contract includes a player option in 2027. Lillard now will have a 2025-26 set salary of $70M between his Portland and Milwaukee deals, and a salary of $141M over the next two years, according to Charania. The 35-year-old point guard is heading back to where his career began when the Trail Blazers selected him with the sixth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Lillard is unlikely to play much if at all this season as he recovers from Achilles surgery, but looks to finish his career right where he started it. The deal includes a no-trade clause.
  • MIL Point Guard #0
The Bucks chose to waive and stretch Lillard, who is likely to miss all of next season as he recovers from an Achilles tear. Milwaukee is able to stretch the $113 million still owed to Lillard over five seasons. This was a necessary move for the team to have the requisite space to sign free agent center Myles Turner. The Bucks had to get creative to give their roster an immediate upgrade. Lillard’s free-agent market will be a bit of a mystery given the fact that he’s unlikely to play much — if at all — this season. It’s possible we’ve seen the last of him as a major fantasy option.
  • MIL Point Guard #0
Lillard suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon tear last Sunday during the Bucks’ season-ending Game 4 loss to the Pacers. The 34-year-old point guard remains without a recovery timeline, but the assumption is that he’ll miss a significant portion of next season. His status impacts Milwaukee’s entire rotation and approach to the offseason as the franchise heads into the summer with limited assets to help strengthen their roster.
  • MIL Power Forward #9
Damian Lillard’s season-ending Achilles tendon tear meant the Bucks would have to make at least one change to their starting lineup. Porter will fill the void left by the perennial All-Star, with Green and Portis also being moved from the bench to the starting five. They replace Kyle Kuzma and Brook Lopez, as Bucks coach Doc Rivers searches for an answer that will keep his team’s season alive.

Kel’el Ware finished Wednesday’s exhibition against the Bulls with five points (2-of-9 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, one assist and two blocked shots.

Despite Myles Turner not playing, Ware still came off the bench on Wednesday while Jericho Sims (three points, eight rebounds, two assists and one blocked shot) started. As he showed last season, Ware doesn’t need to start to provide quality fantasy value. However, it’s fair to wonder whether his playing time will increase after averaging 22.2 minutes per game in his first two NBA seasons.

Ousmane Dieng recorded 10 points (4-of-12 FGs), 11 rebounds, four assists, one block and two three-pointers in Wednesday’s exhibition against the Bulls.

Dieng was one of the Bucks whose role expanded considerably on Wednesday as multiple key players sat out. He capitalized on the opportunity, recording a double-double in 27 minutes. However, Dieng also committed four turnovers. Dieng showed flashes of solid fantasy value last season, but that was under a different head coach and on an injury-depleted roster. He’s worth rostering in dynasty leagues, but Dieng isn’t worth the risk in redraft leagues.

Matas Buzelis recorded 19 points (6-of-9 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), two rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block and five three-pointers in Wednesday’s exhibition against the Bucks.

Buzelis led six Bulls in double figures on Wednesday, but his three-point shooting stood out. The third-year forward made five of seven attempts. Last season, Buzelis made at least five triples in six games, including a 7-of-8 in a December 21 win over the Hawks. He attempted 6.4 three-pointers per game last season but made just 34.9 percent. If Buzelis becomes a reliable perimeter shooter, his fantasy ceiling will rise considerably.

Jalen Smith amassed 15 points (4-of-10 FGs, 4-of-6 FTs), seven rebounds, two assists, one block and three three-pointers in Wednesday’s exhibition against the Bucks.

As the Bulls await Nic Claxton’s return from a hamstring injury he sustained early in training camp, Smith has filled the center spot. He isn’t a rugged big man, but “Stix” provided late-round value when healthy last season. He’s worth taking a flier on in drafts, especially since Claxton won’t be re-evaluated until just before the regular season starts.

Norman Powell finished Wednesday’s exhibition against the Bucks with 16 points (3-of-8 FGs, 8-of-10 FTs), one rebound, one assist, one steal and two three-pointers.

With the Bulls playing their starters and the Bucks not, Wednesday’s game wasn’t particularly competitive. Powell didn’t do much beyond points and free throws, but there’s little to take away from this performance for his fantasy outlook. Powell can provide middle-round fantasy value in 12-team formats, but managers need the veteran guard to stay healthy to get full value from rostering him.

Kasparas Jakučionis tallied 18 points (3-of-8 FGs, 11-of-11 FTs), one rebound, six assists, one steal and one three-pointer in Wednesday’s exhibition against the Bulls.

Shipped to Milwaukee after one season as part of the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade, Jakučionis started Wednesday because the Bucks held out Ryan Rollins, Tyler Herro and Kevin Porter Jr. The second-year guard had his moments, leading the Bucks in assists and making 11 free throws. However, Jakučionis also committed five turnovers, which isn’t surprising for a young guard who played limited minutes as a rookie. Given Milwaukee’s perimeter depth, Jakučionis may struggle to earn consistent minutes this season. While that makes him a non-factor in redraft leagues, he should be rostered in dynasty leagues.

Michael Porter Jr. played well against the Heat on Wednesday with 27 points (9-of-17 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), two rebounds, one assist, one steal, and four 3-pointers on Wednesday.

While this is a classic MPJ stat line, Porter will continue to be one of the main focal points of the offense in Brooklyn. Julius Randle hasn’t supplanted Porter in the offensive hierarchy. If Porter continues to be healthy, he should be a very good contributor going forward.

Joan Beringer puts up 10 points, (3-of-4 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), seven rebounds, one steal, and one block in 17 minutes against the Timberwolves.

If you bought low in dynasty leagues on Beringer before summer league, congratulations! He has the fantasy profile to be an impactful player in redraft and dynasty leagues going forward. If Gobert misses any time, Beringer becomes an immediate add. We might only be a year or two away before he’s a starter and putting up top 60 numbers at least.

Anthony Edwards puts up 20 points (5-of-15 FGs, 9-of-9 FTs), three assists, two steals, and one 3-Pointer on Wednesday.

It wasn’t the best game for Anthony Edwards, but he got to the line really well. The Timberwolves struggled in a 22 point loss to the Pistons. Edwards should bounce back and still be a target in the first round of redraft leagues.

Jamaree Bouyea accounted for 15 points (7-of-11 FGs, 0-of-1 FTs), four rebounds, eight assists, one steal and one three-pointer in Wednesday’s exhibition against the Spurs.

The Suns were missing multiple key contributors on Wednesday, including Collin Gillespie, so Bouyea started at point guard. He had a productive night, dishing out eight assists with two turnovers, but that doesn’t change his fantasy outlook. You don’t need to consider drafting Bouyea, but injuries may make him worth streaming in the occasional game.
