Tari Eason was ejected from Wednesday’s game against the Mavericks after being assessed a Flagrant 2 foul.

Due to his decision to push Mavericks forward P.J. Washington, Eason played just three minutes in Wednesday’s opener before receiving his marching orders. The Rockets forward finished with two points (1-of-2 FGs), one rebound and one steal.
HLs: Tatum leads Celtics past resilient Knicks
The New York Knicks closed the gap against Boston in the second half, but a clutch performance down the stretch by Jayson Tatum and a 36-point day staved off the defending champs for the Celtics' first win of the year.

Charles Bassey (knee) is available for Saturday’s game against the Suns.

Bassey is set to make his first appearance of the season after missing the Warriors’ first two games. With Draymond Green (back) ruled out, Bassey should get rotation minutes, whether he starts or comes off the bench.

Grayson Allen provided a boost off the bench with 20 points (6-of-12 FGs), three rebounds, five assists, one steal and four three-pointers against the Heat on Saturday.

Allen hasn’t started in place of Kon Knueppel (hamstring), but he has been able to fill the shooting void. That included a clutch four-point play in this game, which gave the Hornets a lead that they didn’t relinquish. Allen is rostered in just 33 percent of Yahoo! leagues, but with how many threes Charlotte shoots as a team, Allen should be rostered until Knueppel returns.

Dennis Schröder lit up the Heat with 25 points (8-of-17 FGs), six rebounds, four assists and three three-pointers on Saturday.

After struggling in Friday’s blowout loss to the Hawks, Schröder was able to bounce back with his best performance of the season. Two of his three starts in place of Coby White (calf) have been productive, with the one poor performance coming in a 47-point loss that was bad for the entire team. Schröder is worth streaming until White returns to the lineup. He’s currently rostered in just 26 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Brandon Miller led the Hornets with 34 points (10-of-29 FGs, 11-of-12 FTs), seven rebounds, four assists, one block and three three-pointers in a 115-110 win over the Heat on Saturday.

Miller has been the focal point of the offense for Charlotte early on this year, which gives him a green light to shoot often. He is averaging 21.3 shot attempts per game this season, and while he still isn’t shooting efficiently, he was able to pour in the points in this one. The difference in this game was the free throw rate. He shot three total free throws in their first two games, far less than his 12 attempts in this one. Miller is going to continue to get as many shots as he wants until Kon Knueppel (hamstring) returns. He should be in for more big scoring nights, especially when his shot starts falling at a higher rate.

Jeremiah Fears, Dejounte Murray, Trey Murphy, Zion Williamson and DeAndre Jordan will start Saturday’s game against the Nuggets.

With Yves Missi suffering a bone bruise in his knee during Friday’s loss to the Jazz, the Pelicans had a hole to fill at center. Instead of Derik Queen, Jordan will fill the void. While an interesting choice, Jordan offers better defense than Queen.

Naz Reid lit up the Heat with 23 points (9-of-16 FGs), nine rebounds, two blocks and five three-pointers on Saturday.

Reid has been productive in his first season as a Hornet, but this was his highest-scoring performance so far this year. It was also his best field goal percentage and the most triples he’s knocked down in a game this season. Reid has fit in flawlessly with Charlotte’s three-point heavy approach on offense, and he should continue to have some strong scoring nights. Any extra value he can add in other categories will just be a cherry on top.

Davion Mitchell led the Heat with 22 points (8-of-13 FGs), one rebound, 10 assists, one steal and three three-pointers in a 15-110 loss to the Hornets on Saturday.

Miami trailed by 21 points entering the fourth quarter, but Mitchell fueled a monster comeback, mostly with Giannis Antetokounmpo on the bench. That didn’t result in a win, but it was another strong performance for him. He has been fantastic this year, averaging 17.0 points, 8.7 assists and 2.3 three-pointers per game, all of which would be career bests for him. He has been a bright spot despite a rough start to the year for Miami.

Pelle Larsson provided a boost off the bench with 15 points (5-of-9 FGs), seven rebounds, four assists, one steal and one three-pointer against the Hornets on Saturday.

After a rough start to the year offensively, Larsson was able to get things going in this one. He totaled nine points on 1-of-9 shooting across his first two outings, so this performance was a huge step in the right direction. Larsson was a late-round flier for fantasy managers hoping he would take a step forward for the Heat this season. He’s trending in the right direction, but he’ll need to produce to this level more consistently to be worth keeping rostered.

Bam Adebayo finished with 20 points (7-of-17 FGs), eight rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and two three-pointers on Saturday against the Hornets.

It has been a rough start to the year for Bam, but after totaling 19 points in Miami’s first two games, he was able to surpass that mark in this one. It wasn’t enough for them to get in the win column, but it was good to see him have a productive outing. He’ll try to build on this performance in their next game, which comes against the Mavericks on Monday.

Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with 14 points (4-of-11 FGs, 6-of-8 FTs), six rebounds, three assists and one steal against the Hornets on Saturday.

So far this season, the story for Miami has been that Giannis hasn’t had enough help. Well, his teammates stepped up more in this game, but Antetokounmpo wasn’t quite as productive. They went on a big run without him to tie things up in the fourth quarter. He entered with about four minutes left, committed two fouls in three minutes, and the Hornets took a six-point lead. It was a rough performance for him, but there is no reason for managers to worry. He averaged 35.5 points through their first two games and should get back on track against the Mavericks on Monday.
