Graham Ike accounted for 12 points (5-of-13 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), 10 rebounds, two assists and one steal in Saturday’s loss to the Suns.

Starting for the second consecutive game, Ike looked more comfortable than he did in Friday’s loss to the Grizzlies. Of course, while Suns center Khaman Maluach is listed at 7-foot-1, he isn’t as big as Memphis’ Zach Edey, which may have made things easier for Ike. The rookie out of Gonzaga, who’s on a two-way contract, recorded his first double-double and played 26 minutes. While Ike doesn’t need to be added in redraft leagues, dynasty league managers should stash him if possible.
Take the Lakers over the Trail Blazers
Jay Croucher and Drew Dinsick analyze the matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Portland Trail Blazers; Croucher and Dinsick both suggest taking the Lakers over the Trail Blazers.

After starting Draymond Green at center in Wednesday’s loss to the Lakers, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr opted against that approach on Friday. As a result, Ike made his first NBA start. The rookie from Gonzaga shot reasonably well, but he offered little value beyond points and three-pointers. The Warriors visit Phoenix on Saturday, and Ike may play more, as Al Horford hasn’t played both games of back-to-backs in a few years.

The 54th overall pick in June’s draft, Jones played for the Warriors’ Summer League team but faced long odds of earning a roster spot in training camp. Instead of going to training camp, he’ll play in Italy this season, with the Warriors retaining his draft rights. With the Warriors signing former Gonzaga center Graham Ike to a two-way contract, all three of those slots are filled going into camp, with Malevy Leons and L.J. Cryer occupying the other two.

After two seasons at Wyoming, Ike played three at Gonzaga, emerging as one of the most dominant post presences in college basketball. As a redshirt senior, the 6-foot-9, 250-pound pivot averaged 19.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.8 blocks while shooting 56.3 percent from the field and 79.7 percent from the foul line. Ike became more comfortable stepping out on the perimeter during his time playing for Mark Few. However, the All-American still needs time to develop a consistent shot to become a reliable pick-and-pop option.

NBA Insider Marc Stein reports that Santi Aldama was assigned to the Texas Legends of the G League to practice with the team as part of his return-to-play protocol.

Aldama underwent knee surgery in March and has yet to make his Mavericks debut, but his assignment to Dallas’ G League affiliate is an encouraging update to his status moving forward.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Kawhi Leonard will miss “a period of weeks” due to swelling in his left knee.

According to Shams, an MRI revealed no structural damage, but the Raptors are being cautious with the superstar and will keep an eye on his knee while ramping him back up. In his absence, Ja’Kobe Walter should see an increased role. Walter started on Sunday and finished with 22/4/2 with three “stocks” and five triples. Guys like Jamal Shead and Collin Murray-Boyles could also be in line for bumps in playing time, but Walter is the preferred add from a fantasy basketball perspective.

DeMar DeRozan accounted for 21 points (7-of-15 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), four rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block and two three-pointers in Monday’s loss to the Warriors.

For the first time since his rookie season, DeRozan is being asked to come off the bench. As expected, the veteran forward needs to adjust to the unfamiliar role. After taking 19 shots in Denver’s first two games, he took 15 against the Warriors and recorded his first 20-point stat line of the season. As DeRozan gets more comfortable in his role, his chances of providing the fantasy value managers have grown accustomed to over the years improve.

Bryce Hopkins finished Monday’s loss to the Warriors with 13 points (5-of-9 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), two rebounds, one assist and one three-pointer.

Monday’s start was the second in as many games for Hopkins, who continues to fill in for the injured Cameron Johnson (ankle). Unlike Saturday’s win over the Pelicans, when he offered limited production, the rookie was more aggressive on offense. The result was Hopkins’ first double-figure scoring night as an NBA player. He should remain a starter until Johnson is healthy enough to play.

Jamal Murray notched 19 points (8-of-13 FGs), six rebounds, eight assists, three steals and three three-pointers in Monday’s loss to the Warriors.

After going off for 42 points in Saturday’s win over the Pelicans, Murray cooled off a bit on Monday. However, he still shot well; the final line reflected lower shot volume and his inability to get to the foul line. After attempting 13 free throws against New Orleans, Murray didn’t attempt any against the Warriors. Monday’s outcome aside, Murray’s gotten off to a good individual start this season.

Nikola Jokić recorded 19 points (8-of-18 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), seven rebounds, 11 assists, one steal, three blocks and one three-pointer in Monday’s loss to the Warriors.

Two nights after recording a triple-double in Denver’s comeback win over the Pelicans, Jokić posted a double-double on Monday. The three-time MVP finished with a complete stat line and committed one turnover, a good start to the week for those rostering him. However, the Nuggets are now 1-2, and they needed to erase a large deficit to get that lone win. Simply put, Jokić needs more help from teammates not named Jamal Murray.

Brandin Podziemski recorded 18 points (7-of-14 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), seven rebounds, five assists, one steal and three three-pointers in Monday’s win over the Nuggets.

Back in the lineup after sitting out Saturday’s loss to the Suns, Podziemski recorded his second 18-point game of the season. He played 33 minutes against the Nuggets, a positive sign given the back issue that kept Podz out of the Warriors’ October 21 season opener. Golden State has three more games in Week 2, ending with a Sunday/Monday back-to-back, so another injury management night could be on the horizon for Podziemski.

Stephen Curry accounted for 24 points (8-of-8 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), three rebounds, three assists, two steals and three three-pointers in Monday’s win over the Nuggets.

For just the second time in his illustrious career, Curry finished a game without missing a shot. After making his lone attempt during the first half, the Warriors guard shot 7-of-7 from the field in the second half as they pulled away from the Nuggets. Given Yaxel Lendeborg’s play, the Warriors didn’t have to rely as much on Curry. If that continues, it would make the future Hall of Fame guard’s job a little easier.

Yaxel Lendeborg finished Monday’s win over the Nuggets with 31 points (9-of-19 FGs, 12-of-13 Fts), 12 rebounds, six assists, one block and one three-pointer.

On a night when Stephen Curry attempted just one shot in the first half, Lendeborg had his best game as a pro. The rookie forward recorded his second double-double in four games and his first 30-point stat line. Given Lendeborg’s role with the Warriors and how much the team seems to trust him, he could be one of the best rookies in fantasy basketball this season.

Mo Bamba started the second half and finished with 14 points (7-of-8 FGs), seven rebounds, one assist and four blocks on Monday against the Grizzlies.

Both Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee) and Lauri Markkanen (wrist) exited early from this game, which allowed Bamba and Josh Green to start the second half. Green wasn’t productive, but Bamba made the most of the opportunity. If Jackson remains out against the Spurs on Wednesday, Bamba may be in line to start. However, it is unlikely he produces to this level again, and the matchup against Victor Wembanyama isn’t ideal.
