An expected move is now official. GM Ryan McDonough said the team is “thrilled” with its new hire, and said Hornacek has “all of the qualities we were looking for in a head coach— he is a leader, a teacher and a student of the game.”

This is not an injury designation. Jenkins has played 49 games for the Pistons so far this season, and players on two-way contracts are limited to 50 games played during the regular season. The Pistons are likely holding Jenkins out to preserve his eligibility while working on signing him to a standard contract. Once the trade deadline is finished, we should have a better idea of how the Pistons will be able to convert his contract.

Vincent has been a reserve for the Lakers for the last few seasons, but he’ll now be a depth piece in Atlanta. He should be a reserve point guard option, which likely pushes Keaton Wallace further down the depth chart. However, with Dyson Daniels, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and CJ McCollum all healthy, there isn’t going to be many minutes for Vincent.

The Lakers haven’t been a successful three-point shooting team this season, but the addition of Kennard off the bench should help with that. With Austin Reaves back healthy, the Lakers don’t have as much of a need for Vincent as a reserve, but Kennard should have a place in the rotation. Fantasy managers shouldn’t pay this any mind, though this will be a helpful addition for the Lakers.

The three-time NBA Dunk Contest champion appeared in three games for the Pacers earlier this season and two games for the Magic last year. He’s averaging just 5.8 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in nine NBA games over his four-year career.

Atlanta acquired Reath as part of the deal that sent Vit Krejčí to Portland, but Reath had been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing season-ending surgery on a stress fracture in his right foot prior to the trade. He won’t stick around in Atlanta, and he likely won’t find a new home until he heals up.

Phillips entered the league as a defensive prospect, but that never led to consistent minutes in Chicago. He’ll likely be in a similar situation in Minnesota as a depth piece, which won’t lead to much production in the box score. This isn’t a situation where Phillips will benefit from a change of scenery.

The 2023 second-round pick has been viewed as a high-upside piece for a few seasons, but he hasn’t been able to turn that into consistent production. That was on a contender. In Chicago, he’ll be the tallest player on the roster, though there is still time for the Bulls to change that with more moves. Miller should be get a chance to at least play rotation minutes this season, which could lead to some production during silly season, but that doesn’t justify him as a player worthy of a roster spot in standard leagues at this point.

Minnesota gave up an unprotected first-round pick in 2031 and a pick swap in 2030 to acquire Dillingham on draft night, but they’ll cut their losses early. Dillingham was able to show some flashes as a rookie, but he hasn’t been able to do much in year two. He joins a crowded guard room in Chicago, so there isn’t a clear path to minutes, but he still holds plenty of upside.

Dosunmu spent the first 4.5 seasons of his career in his hometown of Chicago after playing three seasons at Illinois, so this will be quite the fresh start for him. Minnesota has lacked a reliable point guard this season, and they just traded Mike Conley this week. Dosunmu may not start, but he should be one of the primary options off the bench and spend a ton of time on the floor as a lead ball handler. With Dillingham included in the deal, Bones Hyland and Jaylen Clark will be the other point guards in Minnesota.

Jackson started and played 27 minutes against the Kings on Wednesday. The 21-year-old power forward could be one of the main beneficiaries of the Jaren Jackson Jr. trade as he’s consistently shown he can produce when given the opportunity. Jackson has scored in doubled figures in six of his last seven games. He and the rest of the Grizzlies take on the Trail Blazers on Friday.
