Nets selected Danny Wolf with the No. 27 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
After spending two seasons at Yale, Wolf transferred to Michigan for his final collegiate season, where he averaged 13.2 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.4 blocks and one three-pointer per game. Simply put, there aren’t many seven-footers who can pass as well as Wolf. The shot was iffy, and the turnovers were bad, but his vision is unique. There are also questions about how effective he can be defensively, though the shot-blocking numbers were decent. Still, it all comes back to the passing for Wolf. A center that can operate as an offensive hub is a coveted piece in the modern NBA. While the Nets do have some young post players on their roster, Wolf brings a different skill set due to his ability to shoot and serve as a facilitator.

Joel Embiid, VJ Edgecombe, Paul George, Tyrese Maxey and Dominick Barlow will start on Friday against the Bulls.
With Barlow and Edgecombe back in the lineup, the Sixers’ opening unit will look different from the one that played in the team’s 114-106 loss to the Nets in its most recent game. Their returns move Jabari Walker and Jared McCain back to the Philadelphia bench, where they’ll join Quentin Grimes to form a stronger reserve unit. The Sixers lost their only other matchup with the Bulls back in November, but will have a chance to avenge it on Friday and inch closer to the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

Numbers on the Board hands out their grades for Christmas Day's slate of NBA games, analyzing the Knicks' comeback over the Cavs, Nikola Jokic's takeover, and JJ Redick's comments on the Lakers.
  • PHI Center-Forward #21
Joel Embiid (knee) is available for Friday’s game against the Bulls.
Embiid is good to go after missing the 76ers’ last two games due to right knee injury management. His return means that Andre Drummond will come off the bench, where he boasts a lower fantasy ceiling.
  • NOP Guard #3
Jordan Poole (ankle) is available for Friday’s game against the Suns.
Poole is back after a one-game absence, which will likely result in fewer minutes for Jordan Hawkins and Micah Peavy. With Herb Jones (ankle) out, Poole should move into the starting lineup, replacing Bryce McGowens.
  • MIA Guard #9
Davion Mitchell, Norman Powell, Pelle Larsson, Andrew Wiggins and Kel’el Ware will start Friday’s game against the Hawks.
Larsson is back after missing five games with a sprained ankle, and he has been inserted into the starting lineup. The Heat are without Bam Adebayo (back), opening up a spot for Larsson. The other four starters are unchanged.
  • MEM Guard #23
Cedric Coward (heel) is available for Friday’s game against the Bucks.
Coward is back after sitting out Tuesday’s win over the Jazz. However, he will be under a minutes restriction. For that reason, GG Jackson, who started against Utah, may remain in the Grizzlies’ rotation. However, he’ll have a low fantasy ceiling with Coward back in the lineup.
  • BOS Guard #27
Jordan Walsh, Payton Pritchard, Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and Neemias Queta will start vs. the Pacers on Friday.
Walsh (illness) will return to the lineup, giving the Celtics their commonly used starting unit. Sam Hauser returns to the bench with Walsh available. The Celtics, now third in the Eastern Conference standings, have won three straight games and will look to extend that streak against the Pacers on Friday.
  • MEM Guard #12
Ja Morant (ankle) is available for Friday’s game against the Bucks.
Morant is back after missing Memphis’ last four games. He will be on a minutes restriction, so those who have been rostering Cam Spencer should not drop him just yet. Spencer has played well enough to merit rostering, especially with Vince Williams Jr. (knee) sidelined.
  • DAL Guard #10
Brandon Williams (calf) is doubtful for Saturday’s game against the Kings.
Williams, who scored a season-high 26 points in Thursday’s loss to the Warriors, is on track to miss Saturday’s game with a left calf contusion. If he’s ruled out, more minutes would become available to D’Angelo Russell, but Ryan Nembhard will remain the starting point guard.
  • Updating a prior blurb, Collin Murray-Boyles (illness) is out for Friday’s game against the Wizards.
Less than an hour after it was announced that Murray-Boyles was available for Friday’s game, he has been ruled out. His absence opens up frontcourt minutes among the Raptors’ reserves, with Jonathan Mogbo likely seeing action as Sandro Mamukelashvili’s backup. There’s no need to stream Mogbo.
  • MIN Guard #10
Mike Conley (rest) is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Nets.
Despite Saturday’s game not being part of a back-to-back, Conley is on the injury report for rest reasons. Whether he plays may be influenced by Anthony Edwards (shoulder), who is also listed as questionable. If Edwards can’t play, Conley would be the replacement in the starting lineup if he’s available.
