Tyrese Maxey exploded for a game-high 38 points (13-of-27 FGs, 10-of-12 FTs), four rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks over 44 minutes in Sunday’s overtime loss to the Raptors.
Maxey heated up in the second quarter, finishing the opening half with a team-high 14 points, despite going just 4-of-10 from the floor. He took over the game in the second half, scoring 24 of his 38 points in the final two quarters and overtime, including a trio of key buckets in the final minute. The 25-year-old scoring machine drained a clutch step back three-pointer with 20 seconds left to give Philadelphia a four-point advantage which they were unable to hang onto. The two teams will square off again on Monday night for the tail-end of a back-to-back as the 76ers kick off a three-game week that also includes a pair of showdowns against the Cavaliers.
