ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that the Grizzlies have agreed to a two-year deal with Taj Gibson.
Gibson finished last season with the Hornets, starting 11 of the 37 games that he appeared in. He’s back in the NBA for a 17th season, joining the Grizzlies for the rest of the season. Due to Memphis’s lack of healthy post players, the 40-year-old may play legitimate rotation minutes. However, there’s no need to consider adding Gibson.

Olivier-Maxence Prospere totaled 17 points (6-of-10 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), five rebounds, and three three-pointers in the loss to the Spurs on Wednesday.
Prosper’s strength on Wednesday was his three-point shooting; he tied a team high with makes, propelling him to the second-highest scoring total on the team. He grabbed a handful of rebounds but didn’t contribute to many other areas during his 25 minutes on the floor. Still, he was one of the Grizzlies’ top performers, and has now scored in double figures 11 times in March.
Highlights: Doncic helps Lakers hang on vs. Pacers
Luka Doncic puts in 43 points worth of work and dished out seven assists as Los Angeles closed out a win in Indianapolis.
  • MEM Forward #45
GG Jackson finished Wednesday’s loss to the Spurs with 20 points (7-of-15 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), seven rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block and three three-pointers.
Jackson, once again, was one of Memphis’ better performers on Wednesday. Despite the blowout loss, he still logged 30 minutes and took advantage of his opportunities by shooting the ball efficiently, particularly from the three-point line. His work on the glass was solid, and his three stocks were helpful from a fantasy basketball lens. The Grizzlies are now officially eliminated from playoff contention following their loss to the Spurs, but that shouldn’t have much of an impact on Jackson’s outlook the rest of the way.
  • SAS Guard #5
Stephon Castle tallied 15 points (5-of-7 FGs, 5-of-9 FTs), three rebounds and nine assists in the win over the Grizzlies on Wednesday.
Castle had an up-and-down performance on Wednesday. He elevated his teammates by facilitating at a high level, but gave the opposition opportunities by committing five turnovers. And while he was extremely efficient from the floor, the second-year guard left almost a good chunk of points at the charity stripe. Castle ultimately came close to securing a double-double, despite some shortcomings in his 26 minutes of game action. However, there’s another level he’s shown capable of reaching, one fantasy managers are hoping to see in the thick of the fantasy playoffs.
  • SAS Guard-Forward #24
Devin Vassell amassed 19 points (7-of-10 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), seven rebounds, four assists, one steal and four three-pointers in Wednesday’s win over the Grizzlies.
Vassell had the hot hand on Wednesday, particularly from beyond the arc. His three-point production helped tie a team-high in points, while his activity on the glass put him within striking distance of a double-double. However, a one-sided contest ultimately limited Vassell to 26 minutes. Perhaps he’ll be able to carry his momentum over to Saturday’s game against the Bucks, when the Spurs try for their eighth consecutive win.
  • SAS Forward-Center #1
Victor Wembanyama added 19 points (8-of-15 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), 15 rebounds, three assists, three steals, seven blocks and one three-pointer in the blowout win over the Grizzlies.
Wemby was stellar in his relatively limited minutes on Wednesday, as a 25-point win limited him to only 27 minutes. His time on the floor was productive, however, as he racked up another double-double while blocking all but two of his team’s nine shots. The former first-overall pick also added a few steals to combine for 10 stocks, the second time he’s done that this season. Wembanyama, regardless of minutes, is arguably as reliable a fantasy option as any. He’ll have a chance to put together another spectacular line on Saturday when the Spurs face the Bucks.
  • CLE Guard #45
Donovan Mitchell had 28 points (12-of-22 FGs), six rebounds, four assists and four three-pointers in Wednesday’s loss to the Heat.
Mitchell was coming off a 42-point performance in the win over the Magic on Tuesday. The difference in the two games for the 29-year-old shooting guard were simple: free throws. Mitchell was 11-of-11 from the line against the Magic and didn’t even attempt a single free throw against the Heat. He was still able to put up 28 points and four three-pointers. Mitchell has provided second-round per game value over the last two weeks. The Cavaliers only have one more game this week with a rematch against the Heat on Friday.
  • MIA Guard #24
Norman Powell had 19 points (7-of-12 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, two assists, two steals and three three-pointers in Wednesday’s win over the Cavaliers.
Powell must be feeling better as the Heat moved him back into the starting lineup after coming off the bench following an injury absence. The 32-year-old responded with 19 points and three three-pointers. Powell has provided 12th-round per game value over the last two weeks. His managers will benefit from the Heat playing two more games this week.
  • MIA Center-Forward #13
Bam Adebayo had 17 points (6-of-19 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), 10 rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one three-pointer in Wednesday’s win over the Cavaliers.
Adebayo was 5-of-10 from the field if you remove his ugly 1-of-9 from behind the three-point line. Otherwise it was an excellent game for the 28-year-old center in a tough matchup against the Cavaliers’ frontline. Adebayo has provided top-75 per game value over the last two weeks. The Heat have two more games this week with a rematch against the Cavaliers set for Friday.
  • OKC Center-Forward #7
Chet Holmgren shot 3-of-7 from the field and 3-of-4 from the foul line in Tuesday’s loss to the Celtics, scoring 10 points with five rebounds and one three-pointer.
The Thunder did not get much production from players not named Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on Wednesday, including Holmgren. The ten points were the fewest he’s scored in a game in a month, having tallied seven points in a February 24 win over the Raptors. Nights like Wednesday have not been the norm for Holmgren, who has provided fourth-round value in eight-cat formats since the All-Star break. He’ll look to bounce back when the Thunder host the Bulls on Friday.
  • OKC Guard #5
Luguentz Dort accounted for 14 points (5-of-9 FGs), five rebounds, one block and four three-pointers in Wednesday’s loss to the Celtics.
In his prior five appearances, Dort shot a combined 6-of-33 from the field overall and 5-of-26 from beyond the arc. To say he needed a night like Wednesday would be a serious understatement. Dort was 4-of-6 from deep against the Celtics. While the defensive production was limited, category-league managers will take the three-point production, which has not always been there for Dort.
