And the Winner is . . . Mark Rypien! Patience is a virtue for this Former NFL Quarterback. With 2nd Place finishes in 2012 and 2013 – Rypien, Washington Redskins Super Bowl XXVI MVP, stayed the course through Sunday’s 3 hour rain/lightning hold to win the 25 Year Silver Anniversary of NBC Sports’ American Century Championship. And Mark’s sweet spot – he was this Super Bowl of Celebrity Sports tournament’s first champion back in 1990. This ‘Old Dog’ has plenty of tricks left. And the Winner is . . . Mark Mulder! After three straight Top Ten finishes, Mulder finally broke through in Lake Tahoe. Coming into the final round, Mulder trailed the leader by 5 strokes but he rode seven Sunday birdies to his first American Century Championship victory.
And the Winner of the 5th Annual Isuzu Celebrity Golf Championship is . . .Dick Anderson!
And the Winner is . . . Mark Mulder! Again! And just like last year, Mulder came into the last round 5 strokes behind the leader and used a strong round on Sunday to win back to back American Century Championships. Mulder came out firing with 7 birdies on his first 13 holes to take the lead. Regardless, he had to sweat it out until the end as Mardy Fish missed a 12 foot putt for eagle on the final hole that would have send the tournament to a playoff.
And the Winner of the 4th Annual Isuzu Celebrity Golf Championship is . . .Rick Rhoden!
And the Winner is . . . Mark Mulder! Three-Peat! After a slow start, Mulder uses a big round two to take the lead into the final round. He holds off the field including Mardy Fish, a charging Steph Curry and the returning Tony Romo.
And the Winner is . . . Tony Romo! The Former Dallas Cowboy scores 27 points on the final day by shooting a 4-Under 68 to take the title home after starting the day in 3rd place. Mark Mulder and Joe Pavelski made it tough on him throughout the day and Ray Allen finished in a career best T-3
And the Winner is . . . Tony Romo! The defending champ leads wire to wire to cruise to a 10 point victory. The former QB holds off three-time champion Mark Mulder and perennial challengers Mardy Fish & Derek Lowe who finish tied for 3rd. Case Keenum, Stephen Curry & Adam Thielen all finish in the top ten leading the way for active players.
And the Winner is . . . Mardy Fish! A historic second round 63 earned Fish 37 points in the modified stableford scoring system and gave him a 36 hole lead that he would not relinquish. Former Buffalo Bills DT Kyle Williams held the first round lead but had to settle for a second place finish. John Smoltz’s consistency found him in third place and Stephen Curry rallied on Sunday to score 26 points and finish fourth. Two-time defending champion, Tony Romo, was forced to WD after a second round wrist injury.
