Angels selected the contract of LHP Joey Lucchesi from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Lucchesi was re-signed to a minor league contract a couple of weeks ago after he had been released and tested the open market. He’ll add another option to the middle of an Angels’ bullpen that’s desperate for anyone that can consistently get quality outs.
Jordan Romano

LAA Relief Pitcher #68

Angels designated RHP Jordan Romano for assignment.

Ouch. Romano had been functioning as the Angels’ closer this season, though he gave up four runs in the eighth inning in mop up duty on Saturday night and that appears to have been the final nail in his coffin. Rather than simply pulling him from the closer’s role, they booted him from the roster entirely. That leaves the ninth inning wide open now with Sam Bachman perhaps the favorite for save chances in the interim until Kirby Yates or Ben Joyce return from the injured list.
Reynaldo López

ATL Starting Pitcher #40

According to Mark Bowman of MLB.com, the Braves have yet to commit to when or if Reynaldo López will make a start next week.

The 32-year-old hurler was pulled during the second inning during Tuesday’s loss to the Nationals and clearly isn’t right at the moment. The Braves could opt to keep rookie JR Ritchie in their rotation while allowing López to work through his issues in the bullpen. If fantasy managers were planning on starting him or streaming him for his two starts next week, it doesn’t sound like he’s going to be making them.
Will Smith

LAD Catcher #16

Will Smith (back) was held out of the Dodgers’ starting lineup for the second consecutive game on Sunday.

The Dodgers had been hopeful that Smith would be able to return on Sunday, so this is at least mildly concerning. Dalton Rushing will once again start in his place behind the plate and will bat seventh against Cubs’ southpaw Shota Imanaga.
Geraldo Perdomo

AZ Shortstop #2

Geraldo Perdomo (ankle) is not in the Diamondbacks’ lineup for Sunday’s matchup against the Padres in Mexico City.

The Diamondbacks still believe that Perdomo won’t require an extended absence from the left ankle sprain that he sustained during Saturday’s game, but they’ll hold him out on Sunday as a precautionary measure. Jose Fernandez will make his first career start at shortstop in his place and will bat sixth against Padres’ right-hander Michael King.
Jared Jones

PIT Starting Pitcher #17

Jared Jones (elbow) is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment at Low-A Bradenton on Wednesday.

That will open the 30-day rehab window for the 24-year-old hurler as he continues to work his way back from Tommy John surgery. Barring any setbacks along the way, he could be ready to join the Pirates’ rotation at the end of May. Inconsistency should be expected upon his eventual return, but Jones may be worth stashing now for fantasy managers in deeper leagues.
Giancarlo Stanton

NYY Designated Hitter #27

Giancarlo Stanton (calf) remained out of the Yankees’ starting lineup for Sunday’s contest against the Astros.

Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Sunday that they’ll make a decision on his status and whether or not he’ll require a trip to the injured list before Monday’s game. Ben Rice is serving as the Yankees’ designated hitter on Sunday with J.C. Escarra behind the dish for the Bombers against Astros’ right-hander Spencer Arrighetti.
Josh Naylor

SEA 1st Baseman #12

Josh Naylor was held out of the Mariners’ starting lineup on Sunday due to a bruised quad.

Mariners’ skipper Dan Wilson told reporters before the game that the injury isn’t believed to be serious and that Naylor would be available to pinch-hit. Connor Joe will start in his place at first base and bat seventh against Cardinals’ right-hander Michael McGreevy on Sunday afternoon in St. Louis.
Willy Adames

SF Shortstop #2

Willy Adames is not in the Giants’ starting lineup for Sunday afternoon’s showdown against the Marlins.

Adames has really struggled to start the 2026 season, slashing .207/.248/.378 with three homers, six RBI, zero stolen bases (in two attempts) and a 36/5 K/BB ratio across 117 plate appearances. Christian Koss will start in his place at shortstop and will bat eighth against Max Meyer and the Marlins on Sunday in San Francisco.
Brenan Hanifee

DET Relief Pitcher #75

Tigers recalled RHP Brenan Hanifee from Triple-A Toledo.

The 27-year-old hurler will take the place of the injured Connor Seabold (ankle) in the Tigers’ bullpen. Hanifee was off to an underwhelming start at Triple-A Toledo, posting a 4.91 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and a 12/5 K/BB ratio over 11 innings in his first 10 appearances.
