Henri Veesaar finished Tuesday’s game with 11 points (4-of-9 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and two three-pointers in the win over the Grizzlies.

Veesaar logged 24 minutes and showcased some of the long-distance shooting that made him an intriguing prospect. He finished as one of six Hawks players to score in double figures, with his four assists being a nice bonus. Veesaar was selected in the second round of the most recent draft and could have a chance to play minutes for the Hawks this season. His progress will be worth following throughout the summer.

Asa Newell produced 13 points (5-of-8 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), seven rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block and one three-pointer in Monday’s win over the Thunder.

After a solid showing in Saturday’s summer opener, Newell shot the ball better on Monday. His improved efficiency in that area is encouraging for the Hawks, who rarely called Newell’s number during his rookie season. That said, rebounding and defense will likely need to be his calling cards if he’s to crack Quin Snyder’s rotation once the regular season begins.

Kingston Flemings finished Monday’s win over the Thunder with 12 points (4-of-10 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), two rebounds, five assists, one steal and three blocked shots.

After struggling with his shot in his summer debut on Saturday, Flemings cleaned some things up on Monday. However, where he once again stood out was as a playmaker and defender. Flemings recorded five more assists while committing just one turnover, and his four “stocks” included three blocked shots. While he’s likely to come off the bench as a rookie, Flemings has shown early on that he may offer value in deeper redraft leagues to managers specifically seeking assists and defensive stats.

Zuby Ejiofor recorded 19 points (5-of-13 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), 15 rebounds, three assists, one block and three three-pointers in Monday’s win over the Thunder.

After starting slowly, due mainly to Oklahoma City’s Aday Mara, Ejiofor looked far more comfortable offensively in the second half. Excellent on the glass throughout, he made his final three shots after starting 2-of-10 from the field. Eight of Ejiofor’s field-goal attempts came from beyond the arc, a major departure from what he was asked to do at the college level. Due to Atlanta’s need for interior depth, he’ll be in the mix for rotation minutes when training camp begins. That won’t mean much in redraft leagues, but Ejiofor will be a solid option to have rostered in dynasty leagues.

Henri Veesaar contributed five points (2-of-4 FGs), three rebounds, one assist and one three-pointer against the Jazz on Saturday.

Veesaar slid to the Hawks at pick No. 52 last month, but he’s far more talented than his draft slot. However, he didn’t contribute much during his 18-minute summer league debut. It’s obviously far too early to draw any conclusions, but Veesaar should see his role increase as summer league continues.

Asa Newell finished with 15 points (5-of-15 FGs), five rebounds, three assists, one steal and one three-pointer against the Jazz on Saturday.

Newell didn’t have his best shooting performance from deep, but he got up plenty of shots from deep and looked confident as a shooter. That’s going to help him get on the floor, but the other factor is how well he can defend down low and rebound. He still has a ways to go on that end, even if he does look noticeably stronger than he did as a rookie.

Zuby Ejiofor contributed eight points (2-of-7 FGs), 11 rebounds, two assists and three steals against the Jazz on Saturday.

Ejiofor was the Hawks second first-round pick last month, and he has a chance to be a rotation player this season. While he didn’t do much scoring in this game, he found other ways to make an impact, which is certainly an encouraging sign. Ejiofor made his mark on defense and on the glass and should spend time as both a backup power forward and backup center during his rookie season.

Kingston Flemings finished with 14 points (4-of-16 FGs), one rebound, nine assists, four steals and two three-pointers in a 103-102 loss to the Jazz on Saturday.

The Hawks added Flemings with the No. 8 pick in the draft, and while he struggled to score, there was a lot to like about what he did as a playmaker. One encouraging aspect about what he did as a scorer was his shot from deep, which was a question mark entering the draft. He even hit a big shot that nearly tied the game at 100 late, but his foot was in the line. Still, the assists and steals should be his bread and butter for fantasy hoops, and he only turned the ball over once.

Jock Landale and the Hawks have agreed to a one-year contract worth $14 million.

Between the Grizzlies and Hawks, Landale appeared in 67 games in 2025-26. Serving mainly as Onyeka Okongwu’s backup until a high ankle sprain ended his season in early April, the 6-foot-11 center averaged 9.1 points and 4.1 rebounds in 19.4 minutes for the Hawks. Landale’s return fortifies Atlanta’s center rotation, which the team added to in the draft by selecting Zuby Ejiofor with the 23rd overall pick.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that the Hawks have declined Jonathan Kuminga’s option for the 2026-27 season.

With Kuminga’s $24.33 million option, it’s unsurprising the Hawks declined to exercise it. According to multiple reports, the front office attempted to find a trade partner but failed, leading to this transaction. Acquired from the Warriors, Kuminga appeared in 16 games for Atlanta, averaging 12.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.1 three-pointers in 22.1 minutes. While he had his moments of fantasy relevance, especially with the Warriors, Kuminga likely needs to land in a position where he’ll be featured to be worth the risk in most drafts.
