NBA teams have done some weird stuff to campaign for their players to receive awards. They’ve handed out iPhones with custom apps, done viral videos, and lots more.

The Milwaukee Bucks have an NBA Rookie of the Year candidate in Malcolm Brogdon, but instead of doing any of that they decided to go in a different direction. At Brogdon’s request, the team donated their marketing budget for the campaign to charity.

In a release from the team, they explained that instead of printing up fake $1 bills with Brogdon’s face on them, they wanted to rest on his laurels as a player.

In his first season Brogdon is averaging 10.3 points,4.3 assists, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per-game. He’s also shooting 40.4 percent from 3-point range and has a true shooting percentage of 55.7%.
