Conwell’s Summer League debut was a good one. The 37th-overall pick of the 2026 draft was one of two Miami players to reach at least 20 points in the game. Despite some inefficient shooting, he got to the line frequently, which is where he scored nearly half of his points. Conwell was the only player taken in the recent draft by the Heat, so he could have a good chance of being the team’s focal point throughout the summer.

Thunder selected Ryan Conwell with the No. 37 pick in the NBA Draft.

In what has become a more common occurrence in this era of college basketball, Conwell played for four different schools in his four seasons. He saved his best for last, averaging 18.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 3.3 three-pointers in 30.9 minutes per game at Louisville in 2025-26. While a more than capable scorer, the 6-foot-4 guard will need to improve his efficiency to stick at the NBA level. Conwell shot 40.8 percent from the field, 34.5 percent from three and 83.2 percent from the foul line as a senior. Oklahoma City made the pick, but Conwell will be headed to Miami via trade. Given the talent that the Heat gave up to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo, Conwell’s perimeter shooting ability could prove valuable. He isn’t a lock to provide reliable fantasy value as a rookie, but there should be opportunities to contribute.

Will Richard totaled 16 points (6-of-8 FGs), three rebounds, three assists, three steals and four three-pointers in Friday’s win over the Lakers.

Richard looked on Friday like someone who’d logged legitimate NBA minutes before. He shot the ball efficiently, did some nice secondary playmaking, and was active defensively with his hands. But one of the most important takeaways from the contest was how productive Richard was from beyond the arc. He shot 4-of-5 from deep, which is big, considering the 33.5 percent of three-pointers he made last season as a rookie. If he can remain consistent from the three-point line, Richard should be able to find a bigger role next season on a team that currently has limited backcourt depth.

Carr, the Lakers’ 24th pick in the most recent NBA Draft, was the team’s best scorer on Friday. The bulk of his production came from beyond the arc, where he nearly converted half of his looks on double-digit attempts. He didn’t provide much else in terms of box score numbers. However, he could potentially grow into a role in the regular-season rotation if the level of shooting he displayed against Golden State is sustainable.

Lendenborg made quite the first impression on Friday in his first action as a pro. He led all Golden State scorers and tied a team high with four three-pointers, with all four triples coming in the first half. He also led the team in assists and was the only one to record at least one block and one steal before the final horn sounded. Lendenborg was selected with the 11th overall pick in this most recent draft. He’ll likely have a chance to be a rotation player from opening night on.

Young has been with the Heat organization for one season, so his familiarity with the system should help him remain productive during the NBA Summer League. Given that he never played more than 10 minutes in any of his 14 appearances with the Heat last season, it’s unlikely he’ll have much fantasy relevance during the 2026-27 season.

Drummond’s reported deal will be an important one for the Knicks as they look to fill the void at backup center. Drummond has played 14 seasons in the NBA, serving various roles. He’ll essentially replace Mitchell Robinson, who agreed to a deal with the Celtics, to help New York in its title defense. Drummond averaged 6.4 points and 8.4 rebounds last season with the 76ers.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports Jordan Miller has signed a three-year, $15.3 million deal with the Clippers.

Miller entered restricted free agency this summer but opted to return to the Clippers for another three seasons. They selected him with the 48th pick in 2023, and after playing sparingly through his first two seasons, he took on a much larger role for the Clippers over the final three months of last year. With Keaton Wagler, Brandon Ingram and Gradey Dick now in town, Miller’s role may look smaller than it did down the stretch of last season.

Lyles signed with Real Madrid last September after a decade in the NBA, with the last four seasons in Sacramento.
