Andscape’s Marc J. Spears reports that Ben Simmons is expected to remain in the starting lineup when the Kings open the regular season.

After sitting out the entire 2025-26 season, Simmons started and played nine minutes in his unofficial debut for the Kings on Saturday against the Warriors. At the time of his signing, reports said the veteran guard/forward was expected to back up rookie point guard Darius Acuff Jr., but the Kings appear to have a different plan. Simmons, whose minutes will be increased in Sacramento’s final two preseason games, is expected to remain a starter. That likely pushes Precious Achiuwa to the bench, with Zach LaVine, Keegan Murray, and Domantas Sabonis rounding out the starting five. Despite Monday’s report, fantasy managers should still wait until the later rounds of drafts to select Simmons.
Holmgren injury further depletes Thunder rotation
Chet Holmgren will miss 8-10 weeks with a patellar tendon tear, further depleting the Thunder’s roster while creating additional opportunities for Isaiah Hartenstein, Kenrich Williams and Aday Mara.

Al Horford (back) is out for Monday’s game against the Suns.

Max Strus (foot) is off the injury report for Monday’s matchup with the Raptors.

Rui Hachimura (quad) is out for Monday’s game against the Raptors.

Hachimura is coming off a 24-point game in Sunday’s loss to the Warriors, but he’ll sit out the second night of a back-to-back against the Raptors Monday. With Hachimura sidelined with left quad soreness, Kobe Sanders could move into the starting lineup.

Scottie Barnes (hip) is questionable for Monday’s game against the Clippers.

Barnes popped up on the injury report Monday afternoon as questionable with left hip tightness. While the injury doesn’t sound overly serious, Barnes could be on the wrong side of questionable here. If he’s ruled out, Collin Murray-Boyles could move into the starting lineup.

Jakob Poeltl (shoulder) has been upgraded to questionable for Monday’s matchup with the Clippers.

Poeltl sat out Sunday’s loss to the Lakers, but he could return for the second leg of the back-to-back set. If Poeltl ultimately sits again, Trayce Jackson-Davis and Collin Murray-Boyles would be in line for expanded roles.

Clint Capela (ankle) has been ruled out of Monday’s matchup with the Celtics.

Capela’s absence doesn’t impact fantasy hoops, as Alperen Şengün is available and should handle a heavy dose of minutes in the frontcourt.

Paul George (rest) is out for Monday’s matchup with the Rockets.

The Celtics are playing the second leg of a back-to-back set, and PG will sit this one out. Baylor Scheierman and Sam Hauser are candidates to replace him in the starting five, though neither player is an appealing streamer with all 30 teams in action.
