Jake LaRavia (ankle) is out for Friday’s game against the Clippers.

LaRavia was initially listed as questionable, but it should be no surprise that he’s been ruled out Friday after he sprained his right ankle in Wednesday’s win over the Warriors. The good news is that the injury isn’t considered serious and he should return to game action soon. Without LaRavia, Quentin Grimes could see enough minutes off the bench to be worth steaming consideration in category leagues.

Fred VanVleet (knee) is out for Saturday’s game against the Thunder.

VanVleet will sit with right knee injury management and it likely won’t be the last time he does so this season. With Reed Sheppard (back) also out, Marcus Smart should move into the starting lineup Saturday against the Thunder.

Alperen Şengün (back) is off the injury report ahead of Saturday’s game against the Thunder.

Şengün is good to go after sitting out Friday’s game against the Mavericks with back soreness. He should be started in all formats. Clint Capela will head back to the bench after picking up a spot start Friday.

Jabari Walker (knee) is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Hornets.

Walker has missed the last three games with a knee injury. If he’s out again, Adem Bona should start and see plenty of minutes with Joel Embiid (foot) also out.

Joel Embiid (foot) is out for Saturday’s game against the Hornets.

Embiid had a 10/7/7 line in Friday’s win over the Knicks, but he’ll sit out Saturday on the second night of a back-to-back. With Embiid out, Adem Bona and Jabari Walker are candidates to move into the startling lineup.

LeBron James (sciatica) is out for Saturday’s game against the Hornets.

James posted as 20/9/8 line in Friday’s win over the Knicks, but he’ll sit out Saturday on the second night of a back-to-back. At age-41, LeBron isn’t going to play every night, but fantasy managers knew that going into the season.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports the Thunder are no longer signing Ochai Agbaji in light of Chet Holmgren’s injury.

Agbaji was waived by the Knicks earlier this month. Charania reported Friday that he was signed by the Thunder, but Oklahoma City is re-evaluating its open roster spot in light of losing Holmgren (knee) for at least two months. It appears Agbaji will have to catch on with another team.

Walker Kessler finished Friday’s loss to the Warriors with 10 points (4-of-7 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), 13 rebounds, two assists and five blocks.

Kessler has blocked at least five shots in two games this season and at least one in each of the Lakers’ six games. Add in the rebounds and field-goal percentage, and this was a good night for fantasy managers who are rostering the 7-footer. As long as Kessler can stay healthy, he should provide good value for those punting free-throw percentage. The Lakers end their week with a home game against the Raptors on Sunday.

Austin Reaves accounted for 21 points (9-of-19 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, five assists, one steal, one block and one three-pointer in Friday’s loss to the Warriors.

Although Reaves recorded his fifth 20-point game in six appearances, it was not a good night for him. For those hoping Luka Dončić’s return to the Lakers’ lineup would help limit Reaves’ turnovers, he committed eight for the second straight game. He was also 1-of-6 from three, but the recent jump in turnovers is a concern, especially for managers in nine-cat leagues. Hopefully, Reaves will take better care of the basketball on Sunday against the Raptors.
