Steve Clifford met with Michael Jordan and Mitch Kupchak this week and is considered a serious candidate for the Charlotte head coaching vacancy.
Clifford coached the Hornets from 2013-2018, finishing with a 196-214 record. Most recently, he coached Orlando from 2018-2021 before serving as an assistant in Brooklyn last season. Clifford is familiar with the organization, which may or may not be a good thing for Charlotte fans. It looks like it’ll come down to Clifford and Mike D’Antoni to fill the coaching vacancy.

Jaden Ivey, Anfernee Simons, Isaac Okoro, Matas Buzelis and Guerschon Yabusele will start Saturday’s game against the Nuggets.
The Bulls lost Jalen Smith to a calf strain during Thursday’s loss to the Raptors, opening up a spot in the starting lineup. Yabusele, who recorded a double-double in his Bulls’ debut in Toronto, moves into the starting lineup. Nick Richards, who is making his Bulls’ debut, should slide into the backup center role.

  • DEN Forward #23
Jamal Murray, Julian Strawther, Christian Braun, Cameron Johnson and Nikola Jokić will start Saturday’s game against the Bulls.
Johnson is back in the lineup for the first time since December 23, and the decision to start him means that Spencer Jones will come off the bench. While his minutes will be restricted, Chicago’s defensive struggles could benefit Johnson. The other change to the lineup is Strawther, who steps in for the injured Peyton Watson.
  • Brandin Podziemski (illness) is available for Saturday’s game against the Lakers.
After an illness limited him to 13 minutes in Thursday’s win over the Suns, Podziemski is good to go for Saturday night. He’ll likely come off the bench again, but the Warriors will still need his offensive output with Stephen Curry (knee) unavailable.
  • PHX Forward #18
Isaiah Livers (shoulder) will be re-evaluated after the All-Star break.
Livers suffered a sprained left shoulder during Thursday’s loss to the Warriors. Counting Saturday’s game against the 76ers, he’ll miss another three games before being re-evaluated. Livers’ absence may result in the recent addition, Amir Coffey, sliding into the rotation, offering additional wing depth off the bench. Coffey is unlikely to affect fantasy basketball.
  • PHX Guard #8
Suns coach Jordan Ott told reporters Grayson Allen (knee) will be re-evaluated after the All-Star break.
Allen is dealing with a right knee sprain and will be out through the All-Star break, according to Suns coach Jordan Ott, before being re-evaluated. The Suns are in position to handle his injury well with Devin Booker and Jalen Green returning Saturday.
  • PHX Guard #4
Jalen Green (hamstring, hip) is available for Saturday’s game against the 76ers.
Green is back after a four-game absence. He was under a minutes restriction due to a second hamstring strain, so fantasy managers should expect the same on Saturday. With Grayson Allen (ankle) out, the Suns should not have to make too many changes to the rotation to get Green into the mix.
  • PHX Guard #1
Devin Booker (ankle) is available for Saturday’s game against the 76ers.
Booker is back after spraining his ankle in a January loss to the Hawks. With Grayson Allen (ankle) going down with an injury in Thursday’s loss to the Warriors, the Suns can make a one-for-one swap without changing the rest of their starting lineup against the 76ers on Saturday.
  • GSW Guard #30
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said ahead of Saturday’s game against the Lakers that Stephen Curry (knee) could be sidelined through the All-Star break.
Saturday’s game against the Lakers is the third that Curry has missed with “runner’s knee,” and he’ll likely be out longer. In addition to saying that his star guard was doubtful for Monday’s game against the Grizzlies, Kerr said that the Warriors may hold Curry out through the All-Star break. If that were to happen, he would also miss Wednesday’s game against the Spurs. Gui Santos has played well recently, and he’s worthy of streaming consideration in deep leagues while Curry sits.
  • GSW Forward-Center #7
Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters Kristaps Porziņģis (Achilles) will be out through the All-Star break.
Kerr told reporters that Porzingis met with the Warriors team doctor and the plan is to keep the 30-year-old center out through the All-Star break. The idea is that with some rest Porzingis will be ready to go for the second half of the season. It’s a fine idea, but health issues have followed Porzingis since the 2024 NBA Finals, making him difficult to trust in fantasy basketball.
  • DEN Guard #0
Christian Braun (ankle) is available for Saturday’s game against the Bulls.
Braun was initially probable for Saturday’s game, so the status upgrade was expected. He’ll take on his usual role within the Nuggets’ starting lineup. While Braun’s production has not been what fantasy managers hoped for, his ceiling may be raised due to Peyton Watson’s absence.
