Kristaps Porzingis shot 5-of-14 from the field and 6-of-10 from the foul line in Monday’s 121-118 loss to the Hornets, tallying 17 points, eight rebounds, two steals, three blocks, and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes.
Outside of Jayson Tatum, who was 7-of-15, the Celtics had a rough night from beyond the arc. Porzingis made just one of his eight attempts, and Celtics other than Tatum combined to shoot 9-of-35. Monday’s performance was nothing more than a blip on the radar for KP, who’s been a top 25 player in 9-cat per-game value. His outperformed his Yahoo ADP of 42 by two rounds, which is sustainable. The only question would be Porzingis’ injury history, as he can be a league-winner if able to play 60-65 games. Jaylen Brown also had an off night, shooting 5-of-17 from the field and finishing with 13 points, four rebounds, and three assists in 34 minutes.
