ESPN’s Shams Charania reports the Knicks have relieved Tom Thibodeau of his duties as head coach.
One year after signing a three-year extension, Thibodeau is out as head coach of the Knicks. New York had back-to-back 50-win seasons and made the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in 25 years under Thibodeau, but the team is looking for a new voice to help the organization get over the hump after five years with coach Thibs. The Knicks’ pursuit of a championship for the first time since 1973 will begin this offseason with the search for a new coach.

Keon Ellis (wrist) is available for Sunday’s game against the Timberwolves.
Ellis will play after initially being listed as questionable with a sore right wrist. With Dennis Schröder also available after missing time with a hip injury, there may not be as many minutes available to Ellis. He should not be rostered in most fantasy leagues.
Highlights: Bagley III wills Wizards to a road win
Marvin Bagley III notched a 23-point, 14-rebound double-double along with some clutch plays on defense to will his Washington Wizards to a road win over the Indiana Pacers.
  • CHA Guard-Forward #7
Kon Knueppel exploded for 29 points (11-of-19 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block over 43 minutes, leading the Hornets to a 119-111 overtime win over the Cavaliers.
Knueppel continues to be the metaphorical straw that stirs the drink for the upstart Hornets as he stayed sizzling-hot with 27 points in regulation and finishing just shy of his second consecutive 30-point effort. The 20-year-old rookie delivered a sublime 33-point, nine-assist performance during Friday’s loss to the Bulls. He’s been a revelation this season for fantasy purposes, delivering sixth-round value through 26 games, averaging a crisp 19.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.2 blocks. The Hornets will attempt to keep the momentum going when they square off against the Hawks on Thursday before closing out the week with a road tilt against the Pistons.
  • CLE Guard #10
Darius Garland accumulated a team-high 26 points (8-of-19 FGs, 7-of-8 FTs), two rebounds, nine assists one steal and one block over 39 minutes in Sunday’s overtime loss to the Hornets.
Garland led the Cavaliers in scoring during regulation before coming up empty on all three of his shot attempts as they somehow went scoreless in overtime. He also committed a costly turnover with 23 seconds left in the marathon affair that enabled Charlotte to hang on for an improbable win. Cleveland will attempt to get back on track next week with a pair of matchups against the Bulls, who rank 23rd in defensive rating since the start of December.
  • CHA Forward #24
Brandon Miller erupted for 25 points (8-of-23 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), 13 rebounds, six assists and one steal over 38 minutes during Sunday’s overtime victory over the Cavaliers.
Miller, who left the game briefly with what appeared to be a left shoulder issue, had a chance to put Charlotte ahead in the final seconds but wound up missing a seven-footer. He atoned for it moments later by knocking down a game-tying step back three-pointer with five ticks left in regulation. He finished with 23 points in regulation before hitting a pair of free throws in overtime to give the Hornets a lead that they wouldn’t relinquish.
  • NOP Forward #1
Zion Williamson (adductor) is available for Sunday’s game against the Bulls.
Williamson is back after a six-game absence. His return affects multiple players, starting with Saddiq Bey. Bey has excelled as a starter and will remain in that role on Sunday, but his minutes may decrease. Also affected by Williamson’s presence in the lineup is Derik Queen, who may not be asked to facilitate as much as he was during the Pelicans’ last six games. If so, the rookie center would have a lower fantasy ceiling, which would be unfortunate.
  • CLE Guard #45
Donovan Mitchell recorded just 17 points (6-of-24 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), two rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one block over 37 minutes during Sunday’s overtime loss to the Hornets.
It was an off-night for Cleveland’s primary catalyst as Mitchell went just 1-of-10 from three-point range during regulation and missed a potential game-winning jumper at the buzzer. He also came up empty on all three of his shot attempts during overtime as Charlotte pulled out a stunning win. The clunker comes on the heels of a surreal 48-point eruption during Friday’s win over the lowly Wizards. He’ll attempt to rebound next week when the Cavaliers face off against the reeling Bulls in a pair of contests.
  • CLE Center #31
Jarrett Allen registered nine points (3-of-8 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), three rebounds and one assist over 22 minutes during Sunday’s overtime loss to the Hornets.
Allen made his return to Cleveland’s lineup following a six-game absence dating back to November 28 due to a finger injury. The 27-year-old big man was limited to just 22 minutes and hoisted just eight field goals. It’s been a bit of a lost season for him so far but the positive news is that he’s healthy and back in the mix as the Cavaliers attempts to get back on track without Evan Mobley (calf) for a couple weeks.
  • SAC Guard #17
Dennis Schröder (hip) is available for Sunday’s game against the Timberwolves.
Initially listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game, Schröder was upgraded to questionable early Sunday afternoon. He’s now officially good to go, rejoining the Kings after a seven-game absence. His return means that fellow reserve Malik Monk will spend less time on the ball, and Keon Ellis may lose a few minutes.
  • CHI Forward #7
Dalen Terry (hand) is available for Sunday’s game against the Pelicans.
While Terry should play rotation minutes with Ayo Dosunmu (thumb) unavailable, his opportunities remain limited due to Kevin Huerter’s return. There’s no need to consider streaming Terry.
  • WAS Forward #35
Marvin Bagley III went off for 23 points (9-of-14 FGs, 5-of-10 FTs), 14 rebounds, one steal and one block over 31 minutes on Sunday, powering the Wizards to a 108–89 victory over the Pacers.
Bagley had little trouble handling Indiana’s overmatched frontcourt as he recorded his second consecutive double-double, attempting double-digit free throws for the third time in his last six contests since the start of December. The 26-year-old former lottery pick is averaging 14 points and 8.7 rebounds during that span, offering some appeal in deeper fantasy formats. The Wizards return to action on Thursday with a road tilt against the Spurs before weekend contests against the Grizzlies and Spurs.
