Ja Morant sprained his ankle during practice on Sunday and will be considered “week-to-week.”
It was a left ankle injury for Morant, who joins a long list of injured Grizzlies. With the start of the regular season a little over two weeks away, Morant’s status for opening night is certainly in question, and it would be surprising if he played much, if at all, during the preseason. Ty Jerome and Scotty Pippen Jr. would occupy the point guard minutes in Morant’s absence.

Khris Middleton (trade) is out for Saturday’s game against the Spurs.
While Tyus Jones, AJ Johnson and Marvin Bagley III are available to make their Mavericks’ debuts on Saturday, Middleton is out. Nothing has been reported regarding a potential buyout, but it may be worth keeping an eye out for. Middleton’s timeline doesn’t align with the Mavericks’, especially with the franchise pivoting to a rebuild.

Numbers on the Board gives their take on the winners and losers of this year's NBA Trade Deadline.
  • DAL Guard #10
Brandon Williams (leg) is available for Saturday’s game against the Spurs.
Williams was initially listed as probable, so his availability isn’t much of a surprise, though he missed the last two games. With Ryan Nembhard listed as doubtful, Williams and Tyus Jones, who is making his Mavericks debut, figure to have added playmaking responsibilities in this one.
  • SAC Forward-Guard #12
De’Andre Hunter (eye) is out for Saturday’s game against the Cavaliers.
Hunter injured his left eye after taking an inadvertent hit from Clippers’ wing Kobe Sanders. The Kings’ forward/guard has been diagnosed with left eye iritis, which is swelling and irritation in the colored ring around the pupil. Hopefully, this will not be an injury that keeps Hunter sidelined for an extended period. Nique Clifford, who logged 33 minutes on Friday, may move into the starting lineup after coming off the bench.
  • SAC Guard #8
Zach LaVine (finger) is out for Saturday’s game against the Cavaliers.
LaVine was ruled out with right fifth finger soreness. Nique Clifford figures to enter the starting lineup and has been productive with LaVine out before. Clifford is worth adding in deeper formats.
  • SAC Forward-Center #11
Domantas Sabonis (back) is out for Saturday’s game against the Cavaliers.
Sabonis’ continued absence means that Maxime Raynaud will remain in the starting lineup. Given where the Kings are in the standings, it remains to be seen how much Sabonis plays the rest of the season. Raynaud and fellow rookie Dylan Cardwell will have added fantasy value moving forward.
  • MEM Forward-Guard #5
Kyle Anderson (illness) is off the injury report ahead of Saturday’s game against the Trail Blazers.
Anderson missed Friday’s game with an illness. It would’ve been the first game of his second stint in his career with the Grizzlies, but that’ll likely come Saturday. Without knowing how the Grizzlies plan to deploy Anderson, it’s difficult to gauge his current fantasy value.
  • Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (rest) is not on the injury report for Saturday’s game against the Trail Blazers.
Caldwell-Pope was held out of Friday’s loss to the Trail Blazers, which factored into Jahmai Mashack playing 20 minutes off the bench. With Cedric Coward and Jaylen Wells both doubtful, Mashack may remain in the rotation despite KCP being available.
  • MEM Forward #0
Jaylen Wells (shoulder) is doubtful for Saturday’s game against the Trail Blazers.
Wells is on track to sit out Saturday’s game after logging 27 minutes in Friday’s loss to Portland. The second-year wing is dealing with a sore left shoulder. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (rest) is off the injury report after not playing on Friday, so he may absorb some of the minutes that would have gone to Wells.
  • ATL Forward #0
Jonathan Kuminga (knee) will be re-evaluated after the All-Star break.
Kuminga sustained a bone bruise to his left knee while he was still with the Warriors. The injury occurred in the January 22 game against the Mavericks. The Hawks say the 23-year-old power forward will be sidelined through the All-Star break before being re-evaluated. Fans will have to wait until then before getting their first glimpse of Kuminga in an Atlanta uniform.
  • MEM Guard-Forward #2
Ty Jerome (calf) is not on the injury report for Saturday’s game against the Trail Blazers.
Jerome did not play in Friday’s loss to the Trail Blazers, leading to Scotty Pippen Jr. making the start in his season debut. Pippen is out, so the Grizzlies can move Jerome back into the lineup without any fuss.
