Scoot Henderson (hamstring), Jrue Holiday (calf) and Matisse Thybulle (thumb) all did non-contact work during practice on Tuesday.
It appears all three Trail Blazers are still a ways away from returning to the floor. Scoot has yet to suit up this season, while Holiday has been out almost a month and Thybulle hasn’t played since October. Portland has made it work without Scoot and Jrue by starting Sidy Cissoko and putting the ball in Deni Avdija’s hands, though the return of either would help this rotation tremendously.
  • WAS Forward-Center #23

Anthony Davis (hand) is progressing well and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Davis, who suffered ligament damage in his left hand in early January, is progressing in his recovery. However, the Wizards’ forward/center still has not been cleared for basketball activities. For fantasy managers who can afford to take their chances on Davis being active at some point, he’s worth holding onto in an IL slot. That said, managers in leagues where the playoffs will begin before Davis’ re-evaluation will have to seek alternatives.
Should NBA include a 1-on-1 tournament in ASG?
Numbers on the Board debates if a 1-on-1 tournament should be added to NBA All-Star Weekend and names some players who have showed interest in participating. They also discuss how that event can elevate All-Star Weekend.
  • WAS Guard #3
Trae Young (knee) will be re-evaluated in one week.
Young, who hasn’t made his debut yet for the Wizards since coming to Washington in a trade for CJ McCollum, is set to ramp up on-court activities. The 27-year-old point guard isn’t ready to return quite yet and will be re-evaluated in a week.
  • MIN Guard-Forward #1
Terrence Shannon Jr. (foot) is off the injury report for Friday’s game against the Mavericks.
The Timberwolves have a clean injury report for their first game out of the All-Star break, including Shannon. Due to a strained left foot, he’s been out since Christmas. While Shannon’s return may result in fewer minutes for Jaylen Clark, who already wasn’t playing much, this is unlikely to affect fantasy basketball in the short term.
  • LAL Guard #15
Austin Reaves (calf) is no longer under a minutes restriction.
In the five games he played after missing time with a strained right calf for the second time this season, Reaves did not exceed 29 minutes. Coming out of the All-Star break, that restriction has been removed, so Reaves will be in the starting lineup for Friday’s game against the Clippers. This will likely bump Marcus Smart to the bench.
  • LAL Center #5
Deandre Ayton (knee) is expected to be available for Friday’s game against the Clippers.
Ayton missed the Lakers’ final two games before the All-Star break with a sore right knee, opening up a spot in the starting lineup for Jaxson Hayes. Ayton’s expected return would bump Hayes to the bench, eliminating his minimal streaming value.
  • POR Guard-Forward #4
Matisse Thybulle (thumb) was a full participant in Thursday’s practice.
Due to thumb and knee injuries, Thybulle has not been available for a game since October 29. However, the veteran wing could be available for Friday’s game against the Nuggets after fully participating in Thursday’s practice. While fantasy managers should not expect much from Thybulle, his defensive ability could make him worth a look in deep category leagues once he’s playing without any restrictions.
  • POR Forward #24
Kris Murray (back) was a full participant in Thursday’s practice.
Due to a lumbar sprain, Murray has not appeared in a game since January 5. However, with the third-year wing practicing on Thursday, there’s a chance that he’ll be available for Friday’s game against the Nuggets. Given the time missed and the possibility that Matisse Thybulle will also be available, Murray is only worth rostering in dynasty leagues.
  • MIA Guard #9
Pelle Larsson (elbow) is available for Friday’s game against the Hawks.
Larsson missed Miami’s final three games before the All-Star break with a right elbow contusion. He’ll be available on Friday, but a return to the starting lineup is not guaranteed. Tyler Herro (ribs) participated fully in Thursday’s practice and is listed as probable to play in what would be his first game since January 15.
  • POR Guard #17
Shaedon Sharpe (calf) is out for Friday’s game against the Nuggets.
Even with the All-Star break, Sharpe isn’t over his calf injury. The 22-year-old shooting guard is set to miss his fifth consecutive game Friday against the Nuggets. Jerami Grant should see increased usage and Scoot Henderson could see additional minutes too.
  • MIA Guard #24
Norman Powell (back) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Hawks.
Powell missed Miami’s last two games before the All-Star break due to lower back tightness, and he’s back on the injury report for the same issue ahead of Friday’s matchup with the Hawks. Kel’el Ware moved into the starting lineup in those games, most recently recording a double-double in Miami’s February 11 win over the Pelicans.
