CJ McCollum is being inserted into the Hawks’ starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the Nets.

The Hawks have been successful in recent weeks with a closing lineup that includes McCollum, with Zaccharie Risacher moving to the bench. In the aftermath of Friday’s blowout loss to the Heat, Atlanta will go with this lineup from the start. McCollum joins Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Dyson Daniels, Jalen Johnson and Onyeka Okongwu in the starting five.

CJ McCollum accounted for 20 points (8-of-16 FGs), two rebounds, one assist and four three-pointers in Friday’s loss to the Heat.

McCollum was one of the reasons the Hawks were able to bounce back from a 16-point first quarter, shooting 4-of-7 from the field in the second. Unfortunately for him and the Hawks, the veteran guard didn’t offer much production after halftime, and Miami eventually pulled away for a 31-point victory. Atlanta’s need for bench scoring has preserved McCollum’s fantasy value, as he has been close to a top-50 player over the past two weeks.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker finished Friday’s loss to the Heat with 20 points (8-of-18 FGs), three rebounds, three assists and four three-pointers.

Alexander-Walker has scored at least 20 points in 31 games this season, eight more than his total in his first six NBA seasons. He didn’t record any defensive stats against the Heat on Friday, but NAW continues to offer consistent fantasy value. Rostered in 59 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Alexander-Walker can provide some 10-team league managers with excellent value the rest of the season as the Hawks look to earn a playoff berth.
Jalen Johnson

Jalen Johnson recorded 16 points (6-of-22 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), 16 rebounds, 11 assists and two three-pointers in Friday’s loss to the Heat.

While Johnson finished Friday’s defeat with his 11th triple-double of the season, the efficiency was lacking. He kept the turnovers in check, but the 6-of-22 night from the field was one of the worst this season for the Hawks’ All-Star forward. The good news for Johnson managers is that Atlanta has another game to play in Week 17, at home against the struggling Nets on Sunday.
Onyeka Okongwu

Onyeka Okongwu amassed 22 points (8-of-12 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), three rebounds, three assists, one steal, two blocks and four three-pointers in Friday’s loss to the Heat.

Okongwu has reached double figures in four of the five games he’s played since returning from a mouth injury, with Friday’s performance being his most productive. However, while the Hawks’ center recorded a complete stat line, the rebounding production was a letdown. That said, Okongwu could be in for a big finish to Week 17, as the Hawks host the rebuilding Nets on Sunday.
CJ McCollum

CJ McCollum had 23 points (6-of-13 FGs, 8-of-10 FTs), one rebound, five assists, one steal, two blocks and three three-pointers in Thursday’s win over the 76ers.

McCollum continues to come off the bench, but ended up being the Hawks’ second leading scorer in the win over the 76ers on Thursday. The 34-year-old shooting guard had 23 points in 30 minutes off the bench. He’s provided 11th-round per game value on the season, according to Basketball Monster. The Hawks have two more games this week, starting with a matchup against the Heat on Friday.
Jalen Johnson

Jalen Johnson had 32 points (9-of-22 FGs, 14-of-16 FTs), 10 rebounds, five assists, three steals and one block in the Hawks’ 117-107 victory over the 76ers on Thursday.

Johnson continues to absolutely carry the Hawks and fantasy teams alike. Over his last six games, the 24-year-old small forward is averaging 27.7 points, 11.7 rebounds, 9.7 assists and 2.2 steals. Johnson is once again filling up stat sheets with his varied skillset. He’s provided 14th-overall per game value this season, according to Basketball Monster. The Hawks face the Heat on Friday on the second night of a back-to-back.
Jonathan Kuminga

According to the Atlanta Hawks’ official X.com account, Jonathan Kuminga is progressing in his rehabilitation and will be re-evaluated in a week.

It’s unclear what Kuminga’s role will be once he’s cleared to play, but fantasy managers will have to stash him in an IL spot until he’s back on the court. Due to his extensive time off, Kuminga will likely require time to ramp up.
Caleb Houstan

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that the Hawks have signed Caleb Houstan to a contract for the rest of the season.

Houstan has played well for the Hawks’ G League affiliate, and the two-way player has been rewarded with a standard deal for the rest of the 2025-26 campaign. He’s logged 4.9 minutes per game across 10 outings for the parent club, and fantasy managers shouldn’t expect a major boost in production. He can remain on the waiver wire.
Jalen Johnson

Jalen Johnson stuffed the stat sheet on Wednesday with 19 points (7-of-15 FGs), 13 rebounds, nine assists, four steals, one block and one three-pointer in a 110-107 loss to the Hornets.

Johnson did a bit of everything in his return to the lineup after missing Monday’s game with a knee issue. He fell one assist shy of a triple-double, but he was still able to fill up the box score. Over his last five games, Johnson has averaged 26.8 points, 12.0 rebounds, 10.6 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.8 triples per game. His breakout season has resulted in his first All-Star appearance, and he’ll look to stay hot after the break.
