Report: PHX, Collin Gillespie agree to 4-year deal

After three seasons at Sam Houston State, earning all-conference honors in 2024 and 2025, Wilkerson transferred to Indiana for his final season. Starting all 32 games he played, the 6-foot-6 wing averaged 20.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 3.3 three-pointers, shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 88.8 percent from the foul line. Wilkerson can score on three levels, and the hope is that he can use his length to provide greater value as a defender.

After being a starter during his first season at Arizona, Awaka moved to the bench to make room for expected first-round pick Koa Peat. However, the 6-foot-8 senior forward’s production improved. In 39 games, Awaka averaged 9.3 points and 9.1 rebounds in 20.8 minutes, shooting 58.7 percent from the field and 64.2 percent from the foul line. Awaka’s rebounding ability and physicality will give him a chance to carve out a role in the NBA.

Suder spent two seasons at Bellarmine before transferring to Miami (OH) ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. His senior year was the best, with the 6-foot-4 guard averaging 14.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.2 three-pointers while shooting 54.6 percent from the field and 73.4 percent from the foul line. While Suder did shoot 42.1 percent from three, he made only 33.1 percent of his attempts over four seasons, so there will be questions about his consistency.

A seldom-called-upon role player in his two seasons at Providence, Castro flourished after transferring to George Washington ahead of the 2024-25 season. As a senior, the 6-foot-9 pivot averaged 15.3 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.7 blocks in 27.3 minutes, shooting 62.7 percent from the field and 66.1 percent from the foul line. While undersized for a potential NBA center, Castro’s athleticism and motor can help him compensate for that.

The exact terms of the deal are unclear, but Hoiberg is a solid defensive addition for Phoenix. The son of former Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg was named to the Big Ten All-Defensive team last season while playing for his dad. He averaged 9.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game last season, though he was a low volume shooter. His main impact at the NBA level will be on defense, though he did showcase some playmaking chips during his final season for the Cornhuskers.

After two seasons at Syracuse, Copeland played for Will Wade at both McNeese and NC State before turning pro this spring. The 6-foot-6 guard’s lone season at NC State was his most productive, with Copeland averaging 13.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.7 three-pointers in 28.9 minutes, shooting 49.4 percent from the field, 39.7 percent from three and 77.7 percent from the foul line. In addition to the playmaking ability, Copeland showed signs of being able to do more as a perimeter shooter at the next level. It was a surprise that he went undrafted, but this is a good landing spot for Copeland to develop. The Rockets have a lot of talent at the top, but he should help provide depth in the backcourt.

While the report says the Hornets have not signaled they’re looking to move on from Ball, that has not kept some teams from taking the initiative to see if they can get something done. According to both Charania and NBA insider Marc Stein, Minnesota and Toronto are the teams in question. Having struggled with injuries in recent years, Ball appeared in 72 games last season and was one of the reasons why the Hornets landed in the Play-In tournament. He averaged 20.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 7.1 assists, 1.2 steals and 3.8 three-pointers per game, shooting 40.7 percent from the field and 89.9 percent from the foul line. If Ball is moved, it would be a clear sign that Brandon Miller and Kon Knueppel are the Hornets’ cornerstones.

After three seasons at Iowa, Dix transferred to Creighton for his final college season. Making 34 starts, the 6-foot-6 wing averaged 13.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.9 steals and 2.0 three-pointers, shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 86.7 percent from the foul line. After shooting nearly 42 percent from three at Iowa, Dix made just 33.8 percent of his attempts at Creighton. He’ll likely spend most of his time in the G League due to OKC’s depth, especially after they added two more guards during the draft.

Donaldson spent two seasons at Auburn and one at Michigan before transferring to Miami (FL) for the 2025-26 campaign. Earning second-team All-ACC honors, the 6-foot-3 guard averaged 16.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.7 three-pointers in 34.0 minutes. Donaldson shot 45.4 percent from the field, 35.9 percent from three and 76.6 percent from the foul line, and there’s room for growth in that aspect of his game. He’ll remain in South Beach, where he’ll help fill out the gutted Heat roster following the trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo, making this an intriguing landing spot for him.

The 6-foot-7, 245-pound Okereke played three seasons at Cornell before transferring to Vanderbilt for his final year of college basketball. In 36 games, he averaged 9.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.1 three-pointers, shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 77.5 percent from the foul line. While on limited volume, Okereke shot 40 percent from beyond the arc last season.
