ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that LeBron James has informed the Lakers that he will not be returning to the team in 2026-27.

James, who turns 42 in December, will play his 24th season in the NBA. However, it is not known which team he’ll suit up for. According to agent Rich Paul, the future Hall of Fame forward has informed the Lakers that he will not be re-signing with the team. Given the amount of money now tied up in Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves, James’ decision is surprising but not a seismic shock. In recent days, the Warriors have been rumored as a potential destination, with Draymond Green opting out of the final year of his deal to free up additional money for the franchise to make moves. While Dončić was already one of the first players to be selected in fantasy drafts, James’ exit raises Reaves’ ceiling in 2026-27.
Raptors become 'a top team in the East' with Kawhi
If Kawhi Leonard can sustain his 2025-26 production, the Raptors become "a top team in the East", with the seven-time All-Star reportedly returning to Toronto in a trade from the Clippers, who enter reboot mode.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that the Rockets have agreed to a one-year deal with veteran Bogdan Bogdanović.

The deal to bring in Bogdanovic gives Houston more floor spacing around its top offensive players. The veteran wing dealt with injuries throughout the 2025-26 season with the Clippers, which left him on the outskirts of the nightly rotation for chunks of the season and decreased overall production. However, he’s a proven shooter and secondary ball handler, which should be beneficial for Houston if he can round back into form. He is not expected to have much fantasy value during the 2026-27 season.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that the 76ers have agreed to sign Dean Wade.

Wade was a solid contributor for the Cavaliers last season, a perimeter threat who could also defend at the forward spot. He spent all seven of his NBA seasons with Cleveland but will now depart to Philadelphia and likely play a similar role. Wade averaged 5.8 points and 4.2 rebounds on 43.9/36.2/71.1 shooting splits last season.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that the Bulls and Zach Collins have agreed to a two-year extension worth $17 million.

Due to injuries, Collins appeared in just ten games last season before undergoing season-ending toe surgery just after the All-Star break. Unfortunately, while there have been flashes of the potential that led to him being the 10th overall pick in the 2017 draft, injuries have been a significant issue for the 6-foot-11 forward/center. Since the 2018-19 season, Collins surpassed 65 games played just once in the next seven seasons. Collins’ decision to remain in Chicago gives the Bulls added depth in the frontcourt, but his injury history makes him challenging to rely on in fantasy basketball.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that the Suns and Luke Kennard have agreed to a two-year, $13 million contract.

Kennard appeared in 78 regular-season games in 2025-26, playing 46 for the Hawks before being traded to the Lakers at the February deadline. In 21.6 minutes per game, he averaged 8.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.5 three-pointers while shooting 53.3 percent from the field and 91.3 percent from the foul line. In Kennard, the Suns add one of the most accurate three-point shooters in the NBA, potentially providing valuable spacing playing off of Devin Booker and Jalen Green. The second year of Kennard’s contract is a player option, and he’ll be most valuable to fantasy managers seeking three-point production.

Keon Ellis signed a two-year, $18 million contract with the Brooklyn Nets, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Ellis spent the first three and a half years of his career with the Kings before he was traded to the Cavaliers before last season’s trade deadline. Now the 26-year-old guard is off to the Nets via a two-year deal in free agency. Ellis proved to be a solid bench contributor for the Cavaliers and could have a similar role with the Nets.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that the Trail Blazers have agreed to a one-year deal with Branden Carlson.

Carlson spent the past two seasons with the Thunder, where he appeared in 74 regular-season games. His playing time was limited, but when given a good chunk of minutes down the stretch of the most recent regular season, he produced quality numbers and showed potential as a floor-spacing big. His path to fantasy relevancy is very far away, but a new situation with the Trail Blazers could present more opportunities.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that the Clippers have signed Kobe Sanders to a four-year, $11.2 million contract.

The 50th overall pick in the 2025 draft, Sanders appeared in 68 games for the Clippers, starting 16. In those appearances, the 6-foot-8 forward averaged 7.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 three-pointers in 19.9 minutes, shooting 46.6 percent from the field and 82.6 percent from the foul line. While the Clippers did receive Brandon Ingram as part of the Kawhi Leonard trade, there may be more opportunities for Sanders to contribute next season. That said, he’s likely to be more valuable in dynasty leagues than redraft leagues. The final two seasons of Sanders’ new deal are non-guaranteed.

Heat signed Tim Hardaway Jr., according to NBA Insider Chris Haynes.

No surprise here as the Heat were a prime destination for Hardaway ever since the organization completed the trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Hardaway comes to Miami with the Heat losing both Tyler Herro and Norman Powell. The need to replace that backcourt shooting as well as provide spacing around Giannis and Bam Adebayo made Hardaway an obvious and natural fit. The 34-year-old shooting guard was third in Sixth Man of the Year voting last season and could have an increased role with the Heat this year.

The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski reports that Bones Hyland will return to the Timberwolves for the 206-27 season.

Hyland has found a home with the Timberwolves, having played his best basketball last season since early in his career with the Nuggets. He’s coming off a season in which he posted averages of 8.5 points and 2.6 rebounds while posting 45.3/38.8/78.0 shooting splits. Hyland likely won’t offer much fantasy value aside from the occasional minutes bump due to injuries. He played a career-high 71 games last season with Minnesota.

DeAndre Jordan re-signed with the Pelicans, according to NBA Insider Chris Haynes.

Jordan, who turns 38 in July, will return to New Orleans for his 19th NBA season. Contract terms weren’t disclosed, but it’s safe to assume it’s a one-year deal. Jordan appeared in only 12 games for the Pelicans last season. He offers bench depth and a veteran presence at this point in his career.
