Sergio de Larrea turns in 9/6/5/1/1 line vs. GSW

Sergio de Larrea posted a full line on Thursday with nine points (3-of-14 FGs), six rebounds, five assists, one steal, one block and one three-pointer against the Warriors.

It wasn’t the most efficient shooting performance for de Larrea, but there was a lot to like about what he did in his first summer league action. He flashed upside on both ends of the floor, but he’s clearly a prospect that has a lot of developing to do. He should get that opportunity for Dallas this season and is worth stashing in dynasty formats.

De Larrea didn’t start Saturday’s game, but Kyrie Irving’s and Cooper Flagg’s absences gave the rookie opportunities he wouldn’t get if the Mavericks’ rotation were whole. To his credit, the first-round pick capitalized on the extra playing time, leading the Mavericks in points and three-pointers. De Larrea’s performance doesn’t change much regarding his value in redraft leagues, as Irving should be available for Monday’s game against the Heat. But dynasty-league managers who are rostering the rookie should be thrilled with what they saw.
  • De Larrea did not shoot the ball well on Thursday, missing all five of his three-point attempts, but the rookie’s overall floor game was excellent. Finishing one rebound shy of a double-double, de Larrea also accounted for 14 assists and three turnovers. While a healthy Kyrie Irving will run the show for the Mavericks when next season begins, fantasy managers in redraft leagues should not sleep on the 6-foot-5 de Larrea. A must-draft player in dynasty leagues, he may have some value in redraft formats as well.
  • De Larrea had an excellent floor game on Monday after struggling in Saturday’s loss to the Lakers. The rookie guard was responsible for 12 of Dallas’ 25 assists on the night, with the other four Mavericks starters combining for six. With Kyrie Irving expected to be fully healthy when next season begins and Cooper Flagg also in line to have the ball in his hands plenty, de Larrea’s fantasy ceiling may be limited as a rookie. But the basketball IQ makes him someone worth stashing in dynasty leagues.
  • After shooting 3-of-14 in his first summer league appearance on Thursday, de Larrea attempted just four shots on Saturday. He did have some nice assists and was once again active defensively in a decent overall showing. Through two games, it’s clear that some patience will be needed, but de Larrea has the basketball smarts needed to make an impact down the line. He is certainly worth stashing in dynasty leagues.
  • A native of Valladolid, Spain, the 6-foot-6 De Larrea helped lead Valencia to the Spanish Supercup this season. One of the top young international players in this draft class, he averaged 7.1 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists in just over 14 minutes per game while shooting 45.0 percent from the field, 40.9 percent from three and 81.2 percent from the foul line. De Larrea’s combination of basketball IQ, size and shooting ability makes him one of the most intriguing prospects in this class. New York traded back from 24 to 25 and received cash considerations. De Larrea’s draft rights were eventually acquired by Phoenix, which sent them to Dallas in exchange for the draft rights to No. 30 overall pick Koa Peat. For the transactions, the Knicks received five second-round picks, two from Dallas and three from Phoenix. The question is whether De Larrea comes over immediately or spends another season in Spain, but his chances of playing in the NBA in 2026-27 have improved with the move to Dallas.

Cade Cunningham, Daniss Jenkins, Duncan Robinson, John Collins and Paul Reed will start Sunday’s game against the 76ers.

Injuries have left the Pistons without two starters, as Ausar Thompson and Jalen Duren have been ruled out. Jenkins and Reed will replace them in the lineup, with the latter offering greater long-term value since Duren will be out for at least two weeks.

Tyrese Maxey, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Jaylen Brown, LeBron James and Dean Wade will start Sunday’s game against the Pistons.

The 76ers won’t have VJ Edgecombe or Joel Embiid for Sunday’s game, resulting in two changes to the starting lineup. Caldwell-Pope will replace Edgecombe, marking his first start of the season. The other change is James, who returns after sitting out Saturday’s win over the Bucks. He’ll fill the void left by Embiid.

Ivica Zubac (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday’s game against the Nets.

Zubac sprained his left ankle with about five minutes remaining in the first quarter and has not returned to the Pacers’ bench since. If he can’t return, Obi Toppin and Jay Huff will get the available minutes. The Pacers also play on Monday, so fantasy managers could be without Zubac for the start of Week 2.

VJ Edgecombe (core) is now out for Sunday’s game against the Pistons.

Edgecombe suffered the injury in Saturday’s contest against the Bucks, and is now sidelined for the second leg of the back-to-back.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will get the start in place of Edgecombe on Sunday. After not being on the initial injury report, this is something fantasy managers should watch over the next few days.

Alpha Diallo (wrist, personal) is doubtful for Monday’s game against the Warriors.

In addition to the sprained right wrist that kept him out of Saturday’s win over the Pelicans, personal reasons may keep Diallo out of Monday’s game. With Cameron Johnson (ankle) also out, the Nuggets inserted Bryce Hopkins into the starting lineup. He may get another start, but fantasy managers would be better off streaming Trevon Brazile.

Jalen Suggs, Jase Richardson, Desmond Bane, Franz Wagner and Wendell Carter Jr. will start Sunday’s game against the Knicks.

Sunday’s game is Orlando’s first since losing Paolo Banchero to a low-grade right ankle sprain during Friday’s loss to the Timberwolves. The Magic will go small on Sunday, with Richardson’s inclusion in the lineup meaning that Bane and Wagner will shift down a position.

Immanuel Quickley, Ja’Kobe Walter, RJ Barrett, Scottie Barnes and Jakob Poeltl will start Sunday’s game against the Timberwolves.

Due to left knee swelling, Kawhi Leonard will not play in Sunday’s game. Walter will replace him in the starting lineup, and the third-year wing is worth streaming in deep leagues because of the opportunity.

Spencer Jones (hamstring) is out for Monday’s game against the Warriors.

Jones, who is still working his way back from a strained hamstring, remains out for the Nuggets. Expect Trevor Brazile to carry that backup role.

Cameron Johnson (ankle) is doubtful for Monday’s game against the Warriors.

Johnson did not play in Saturday’s win over the Pelicans, and he’ll likely miss another game on Monday. With Alpha Diallo (wrist) also unavailable, the Nuggets started Bryce Hopkins against New Orleans. Hopkins played just 19 minutes, while fellow rookie Trevon Brazile was far more effective off the bench. Brazile is the better option for managers looking for a streamer on Monday’s slate.

Oso Ighodaro (oblique) is doubtful for Monday’s game against the Thunder.

Ighodaro did not play in Saturday’s win over the Warriors, leading to a significant increase in starter Khaman Maluach’s playing time. Expect that to continue if Ighodaro can’t play against the Thunder.
