Cooper Flagg tallied 42 points (13-of-27 FGs, 15-of-20 FTs), seven rebounds, six assists, one steal, two blocks and one three-pointer in the loss to the Jazz on Monday.
Flagg made history on Monday in Salt Lake City, becoming the first 18-year-old player to score 40 points in an NBA game. He got there with efficient shooting and lots of production from the charity stripe, but just as impressively, he was able to impact the game as a rebounder, passer, and defender. The career-high scoring total wasn’t enough to give the Mavericks a third straight win. However, Flagg continues to make strides as his rookie season progresses. He’ll have a chance to be productive again on Thursday against the Pistons.
