The Athletic’s Josh Robbins reported the Wizards will discuss a contract extension with Anthony Davis during the season.

The report made to sure to point out that, despite Aug. 6 marking the first day that Davis is eligible to sign an extension with Washington, negotiations won’t happen until during the season. AD didn’t suit up for the Wizards last season after they dealt for him, so having him play in some games for them will help both parties figure out if Washington will be his long-term home. The Wizards have plenty of talent on their roster, with AD and Trae Young as veteran stars, while AJ Dybantsa, Alex Sarr, Kyshawn George and Tre Johnson highlight the future faces of the franchise. If they’re able to get things to click, this can be a competitive team in the East next season.
Lonnie Walker

DEN Shooting Guard #16

Lonnie Walker IV agreed to a one-year, $3.3 million contract with the Nuggets, reports ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Walker spent the last season with Maccabi Tel Aviv in the EuroLeague. Prior to that, he spent seven seasons in the NBA. Walker 12.4 points and 23.4 minutes per game in 2024-25 with the Sixers. He’ll earn the veteran minimum with the Nuggets.
Dillon Brooks

Dillon Brooks agreed to a three-year, $73 million contract extension, reports ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Brooks only played 56 games last year, breaking a streak of three consecutive seasons with at least 72 games played. Still, Brooks averaged a career-high 20.2 points per game in his first year in Phoenix. That seems to have made an impression as the Suns decided to lock up the 30-year-old guard for the foreseeable future. With the team bringing in Miles Bridges and Luke Kennard this offseason, it could be tough to repeat the usage that led to his career-high scoring.

Rockets waived JD Davison.

Davison signed a standard contract with the Rockets last season after starting the year on a two-way deal. He averaged 7.8 minutes in 28 appearances for the Rockets.
LeBron James

76ers head coach Nick Nurse said during a recent interview that LeBron James will initiate offense for the team next season.

While Tyrese Maxey will continue to take on a prominent playmaking role for the 76ers, LeBron’s arrival gives the team another option to trust in that regard. “He is an offense creator,” Nurse said, according to NBC Sports Philadelphia. “He is certainly a guy that will bring the ball up the floor and try to create for himself and others. He is really good for others.” After averaging at least eight assists each of the prior two seasons, James’ average dipped slightly to 7.2 per game in 2025-26. With the offensive weapons in Philadelphia’s starting lineup, he could experience an increase in that category next season, which should help his fantasy value.
Jalen Pickett

HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reports that the Clippers signed Jalen Pickett to a two-way contract.

The 32nd overall pick in the 2023 draft, Pickett spent his first three NBA seasons with the Nuggets. In 126 appearances over three seasons, the 6-foot-2 guard averaged 4.0 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 0.8 three-pointers in 12.7 minutes per game. Given the options at point guard on the Clippers’ roster who currently hold standard contracts, Pickett’s chances of impacting fantasy basketball next season are slim.
Cole Anthony

Melbourne United signed Cole Anthony.

The 15th overall pick in the 2020 draft, Anthony spent his first five seasons in Orlando before moving to Milwaukee ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. The 6-foot-2 guard appeared in 35 games for the Bucks before being traded to Phoenix at the February deadline, with the Suns waiving him at the end of the month. Anthony’s move to Australia won’t affect redraft leagues, but dynasty league managers rostering him can afford to move on.
Andre Jackson

TOR Guard #44

Raptors signed Andre Jackson Jr. to an Exhibit 10 contract.

The 36th overall pick in the 2023 draft, Jackson spent his first three NBA seasons in Milwaukee. While there were occasional moments when his athleticism was on display, the former UConn wing could not lock down consistent rotation minutes with the Bucks. In Toronto, he’ll compete for one of the team’s final roster spots when training camp opens in late September.
Mohamed Diawara

Mohamed Diawara (finger) has resumed on-court workouts and is expected to be ready to go when training camp opens in September.

Diawara, who had his moments during the 2025-26 regular season before falling out of the rotation for the team’s title run, injured his left ring finger during Summer League. While he did need to undergo surgery, the wing has already returned to the court and is expected to be fully ready when the Knicks open training camp in late September. There should once again be opportunities for Diawara to contribute during the regular season, but he is not a player to select in redraft leagues.
Trey Jemison

TOR Center #50

NBA insider Chris Haynes reports that the Raptors have signed Trey Jemison to a two-way contract.

Jemison has played for five different NBA teams in his three seasons, most recently spending the 2025-26 campaign with the Knicks on a two-way deal. The 6-foot-11 center appeared in 13 NBA games for the champs, averaging 6.3 minutes per game. While Toronto has experienced success in using its G League affiliate to develop players, Jemison is unlikely to be in a position to impact fantasy basketball next season.
