According to the Philadelphia 76ers official X.com page, the team has signed Tacko Fall, Saint Thomas and Jameer Nelson Jr.

Fall last played in the NBA in 2022, but he’ll get another shot after playing professionally in China. Fall could make an impact as a backup big man if he sees the court, but he’ll compete with Adem Bona and Ariel Hukporti for minutes behind the oft-injured Joel Embiid. Thomas and Nelson Jr. are unlikely to see many minutes this season, barring multiple injuries up the depth chart.
Take the over on Luka-led Lakers' win total
Jay Croucher and Drew Dinsick discuss their expectations for the new-look Lakers' win total, which is set at 45.5 ahead of the new season.

While he was far from sharp on Thursday, Embiid played 24 minutes without incident against the Nets. More concerning than the 1-of-5 night from the field was his eight turnovers, but it’s just the preseason. Embiid won’t make a habit of that, especially with Tyrese Maxey and LeBron James on the floor. Most importantly, the former MVP needs to stay healthy, as the 76ers are without Adem Bona (foot) and lost Ariel Hukporti (Achilles) for the season on Monday. If Embiid can avoid the extended absences that have recurred throughout his career, he should exceed his ADP (50) by a safe margin.
  • PHI Center #55
Hukporti signed with the 76ers at the start of free agency after spending the first two years of his career with the Knicks. He was expected to provide more center depth behind Joel Embiid, but he won’t be available for this season. Adem Bona (foot) is currently out as well, but he should be the primary backup center behind Embiid, though the 76ers will likely have to make a move to bring in another big.
  • PHI Center #55
Starting for Joel Embiid, Hukporti played five minutes against his former team before leaving the game with a non-contact right leg injury. The 76ers center appeared to take an awkward step back while defending Karl-Anthony Towns, then fell to the floor and immediately grabbed the lower back area of his right leg. Hukporti required assistance to the locker room and did not return. With Adem Bona (foot) currently out, the 76ers’ center depth would take a significant hit if Hukporti misses time.
  • PHI Forward #33
Walker’s contract for the upcoming season isn’t fully guaranteed until January 10, so he still has work to do. He looked sharp in Monday’s preseason opener, shooting 3-of-5 from beyond the arc and showing more confidence in his shot than last season. Walker’s role may also grow in importance because of injuries to Philadelphia’s other rotation bigs. Adem Bona (foot) is recovering from a sprain, while Ariel Hukporti suffered a lower-right-leg injury in the first half of Monday’s game. Given starting center Joel Embiid’s injury history, Walker is someone to watch with Bona and Hukporti sidelined.
  • PHI Center #55
The 76ers will open their preseason without multiple key players, including Tyrese Maxey, LeBron James and Joel Embiid. With those expected starters unavailable, KCP, Wade and Hukporti will start. The latter may be the one to watch, as he’ll be competing with the currently injured Adem Bona for the right to back up Embiid. There isn’t much to gain from drafting Hukporti in most leagues, but Embiid’s injury history makes it possible that the former Knick will be a relevant streamer at some point during the regular season.
  • PHI Center #99
Fall will miss at least two weeks with a left hip strain, the 76ers announced Thursday. Once he’s healthy, Fall will compete with Adem Bona and Ariel Hukporti for backup big man minutes behind Joel Embiid.
  • PHI Forward #30
Bona, who is expected to compete with Ariel Hukporti for the backup center job, suffered the injury while representing Turkïye during FIBA World Cup qualifiers. The 76ers announced that he’ll be re-evaluated when training camp begins at the end of the month. While Bona’s injury won’t significantly affect his fantasy draft value, missing regular-season games would remove a potential safety net for managers who select Joel Embiid.
  • PHI Center-Forward #21
Embiid and the 76ers disappointingly saw their season end as the Knicks swept them in the second round of the NBA Playoffs. Since then, there’s been a change in leadership, with Gansey replacing Daryl Morey. In addition to acquiring Jaylen Brown from the Celtics, the 76ers signed LeBron James in free agency. Expectations going into next season will be sky-high, and it helps that Embiid can use this offseason to hone his craft instead of recovering from another injury. “This is like the first summer I think in a while that he’s been healthy, so he’s been in the gym working out,” Gansey told ESPN. “He’s been lifting weights. He’s extra motivated. He wants to play a lot of games, and he’s excited about the group we’ve built now. Even before these trades and LeBron, I think he was excited. So he’s motivated to have a good year and he’s ready to go.” When healthy, Embiid can be one of the most valuable players in fantasy basketball. However, the injury history will likely keep many managers from selecting him with a first-round pick in drafts.
  • UTA Forward-Center #42
The addition of LeBron James via free agency has opened the door for others to consider Philadelphia as a new home, even though the 76ers have limited roster space. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has agreed to a one-year deal, and there have reportedly been conversations between the team and Love’s agent. However, the 76ers have two backup centers on the roster in Adem Bona and offseason signing Ariel Hukporti. Also, the KCP signing filled Philadelphia’s standard contract slots, meaning someone would have to be moved to make room for Love. In a reserve role, the veteran forward/center is unlikely to be in a position to consistently impact fantasy basketball next season.
  • PHI Forward #30
The 76ers had until Monday to waive Bona without incurring any financial penalty, but they have reportedly decided to hold on to the former second-round pick. As a result, he’s guaranteed to make a shade under $2.3 million next season. In his second NBA season, Bona averaged 4.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 17.4 minutes per game. He’ll combine with offseason signing Ariel Hukporti to provide depth behind Joel Embiid, which makes both players non-factors in fantasy basketball.

Yaxel Lendeborg finished Saturday’s exhibition against the Kings with 23 points (10-of-14 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), 10 rebounds, six assists, two steals, one block and one three-pointer.

Simply put, Lendeborg was the best player on the floor during the first half of Saturday’s game. The lottery pick out of Michigan recorded 20 points, eight rebounds, three assists and one steal in 15 minutes. Performances like this show why Lendeborg can make an immediate impact, and he’s worth selecting in 12-team drafts. With the Warriors unsure when Jimmy Butler III or Moses Moody will return from their knee injuries, Lendeborg appears on track to begin his rookie campaign as a starter.

Keegan Murray notched five points (2-of-3 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs) in Saturday’s exhibition against the Warriors.

With injuries limiting him to 23 games, Murray’s 2025-26 season was a lost one. He made his first appearance of the preseason on Saturday, logging eight minutes in the first quarter before being shut down. Murray’s return pushed De’Andre Hunter (four points, three rebounds and one assist) to the bench, and that’s likely to be the small-forward rotation once the regular season begins. As long as he’s healthy, Murray can be a valuable fantasy option. Another key for him beyond staying healthy is establishing a connection with rookie point guard Darius Acuff Jr.

Darius Acuff Jr. amassed 25 points (8-of-15 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), four rebounds, eight assists and four three-pointers in Saturday’s exhibition against the Warriors.

After struggling in Thursday’s exhibition against the Lakers, Acuff was considerably better on Saturday. The lottery pick shot over 50 percent from the field and recorded a game-high eight assists. Even though it was just a preseason game, Acuff’s performance was encouraging, whether you’re a Kings fan or a fantasy manager considering drafting him in the later rounds of 12-team drafts.

Ben Simmons finished Saturday’s exhibition against the Warriors with seven points (2-of-4 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs) and one assist.

Saturday’s exhibition was Simmons’ first game action since Game 5 of the Clippers’ first-round series against the Nuggets in 2025. He started against the Warriors, played nine minutes in the first quarter, then was shut down for the night. Simmons can be a viable option in 12-team leagues, but fantasy managers should temper their expectations early on. He started against the Warriors, but that was because Domantas Sabonis didn’t play. Once the games count, Simmons is likely to come off the bench.

Al Horford tallied four points (1-of-9 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, three assists and one block in Saturday’s exhibition against the Kings.

Having turned 40 in early June, Horford’s days of fantasy relevance may be in the rearview mirror. However, with Kristaps Porziņģis sidelined again, Horford’s availability becomes even more important as the regular season approaches. He didn’t shoot well against the Kings, but his rebounding and assists were decent. Horford isn’t a must-pick in most drafts, but he’s worth monitoring on the waiver wire in deep leagues.

Simone Fontecchio amassed 14 points (4-of-12 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), one rebound and four three-pointers in Saturday’s exhibition against the Timberwolves.

Much has been made about Miami’s need for spacers, with most of the conversation focused on Klay Thompson and Tim Hardaway Jr. (and with good reason). But Fontecchio is another capable shooter, and he’s coming off a season in which he made 37.5 percent of his three-point attempts. Against the Timberwolves, he made four of seven attempts. Fontecchio offered little beyond points and three-pointers, and that’s likely to be the norm during the regular season.

Nikola Jović tallied 16 points (7-of-11 FGs, 0-of-1 FTs), six rebounds, three assists, three steals and two three-pointers in Saturday’s exhibition against the Timberwolves.

Miami sat most of its established veterans on Saturday, leading to Jović starting and taking on a bigger role on offense. He shot well and recorded a solid stat line, missing only blocks. While Jović doesn’t qualify as a must-draft player in 12-team leagues, he’ll be worth a look in deeper leagues. And Miami needs him to bounce back from a disappointing 2025-26.

Terrence Shannon Jr. recorded 19 points (8-of-16 FGs), six rebounds, four assists and three three-pointers in Saturday’s exhibition against the Heat.

Shannon started Saturday’s exhibition and played well, making half his shots and dishing out four assists. The third-year wing, who committed just one turnover, had his moments during the postseason last spring as the Timberwolves had to navigate multiple injuries. Shannon isn’t a must-draft player in 12-team redraft leagues, but the upside makes him worth considering in the final rounds.

Bones Hyland finished Saturday’s exhibition against the Heat with 23 points (6-of-9 FGs, 6-of-6 FTs), four rebounds, four assists, three steals and five three-pointers.

Neither team played most of their key veterans, so guys like Hyland had more opportunities to impress. He took advantage, shooting 5-of-6 from beyond the arc and committing no turnovers. Hyland still isn’t at the point where fantasy managers can rely on him for consistent value. However, with Mike Conley in Boston and Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles) set to miss most of the regular season, Hyland will have more opportunities to contribute.

Nick Richards produced seven points (2-of-2 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), 10 rebounds, one steal and one blocked shot in Saturday’s exhibition against the Timberwolves.

Richards scored all his points in the third quarter of Saturday’s exhibition, but the offense won’t earn him a spot on Miami’s Opening Night roster. Richards will need to prove himself most in rebounding and defense, and he did well in those areas. However, regardless of Saturday’s performance, he won’t be an option in fantasy leagues on a roster that includes Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bam Adebayo and Bobby Portis.
