Paolo Banchero (ankle) finished Friday’s loss to the Timberwolves with 14 points (6-of-11 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), six rebounds, five assists and one steal.

Banchero and the Magic fell to 0-2 on Friday, and his right ankle injury made matters worse. While crashing for a rebound early in the third quarter, Banchero collided with teammate Jalen Suggs and tweaked his right ankle. Banchero returned after a quick trip to the locker room, but the team decided halfway through the fourth quarter to shut him down for the rest of the night. The Magic visit the Knicks on Sunday; if Banchero can’t play, Tristan da Silva is the most likely replacement in the starting lineup.

Jarrett Allen lit up the Nets with 21 points (7-of-8 FGs), eight rebounds, two steals, one block and one three-pointer on Saturday.

Allen only hit one three-pointer last season, and the last time he hit more than one in a single year was during the 2020-21 season. He got his triple out of the way early this year. Perhaps he’ll get more than that throughout the year, but managers shouldn’t expect it. However, the efficient field goal percentage, rebounds and defensive production are all things he can provide consistently, though this was certainly a high-level outing for him.

Julius Randle finished with 23 points (7-of-12 FGs, 7-of-8 FTs), six rebounds, five assists, two three-pointers and five turnovers against the Cavaliers on Saturday.

After dropping 33 points in the season opener, Randle wasn’t able to match that mark in this one, though he was still a strong source of buckets. Clearly, he’s going to get a ton of usage this season, which is why he was selected in the sixth round of fantasy drafts this season. Randle can’t be relied on for defensive stats, and the shooting efficiency won’t always be at the level it was in this game, but he should be a consistent producer of points, rebounds and assists.

Egor Dëmin contributed 22 points (5-of-10 FGs, 7-of-7 FTs), four rebounds, six assists and five three-pointers against the Cavaliers on Saturday.

After struggling in the season opener, Dëmin was more productive in this outing. He had five 20-point games during his rookie year, but he was already able to add his first one of this season just two games in. Dëmin was taken at the end of fantasy drafts this season, and while he wasn’t great against the Hornets on Wednesday, this type of performance will make him worth the late-round swing.

Michael Porter Jr. led the Nets with 28 points (10-of-18 FGs), nine rebounds, one assist, four steals and four three-pointers in a 125-121 loss to the Cavaliers on Saturday.

Even if the Nets are going to struggle again this season, Porter is certainly going to get his buckets. He’ll have a good chance to lead the Nets in scoring, even if Julius Randle is a threat to that title. He was a fantasy stud last season, but through two games, he has been even better by becoming a strong source of steals with seven so far this year. That pace won’t continue, but he may be able to hover around one per game like he did last season.

Mikel Brown Jr. finished with eight points (3-of-10 FGs), two rebounds, five assists, two steals and two three-pointers against the Cavaliers on Saturday.

Brown hasn’t seen the volume of minutes that other rookies have because he is still recovering from an ankle injury, but he was able to showcase some flashes of why the Nets took him with the No. 7 overall pick. Head coach Jordi Fernandez said before the game that Brown will sit out the second leg of this back-to-back against the Pacers on Sunday. His next chance to suit up will be in Boston on Tuesday.

Kyle Kuzma recorded 14 points (6-of-11 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), 12 rebounds and three assists in Saturday’s loss to the 76ers.

After totaling 19 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists in Milwaukee’s first two games, Kuzma recorded a double-double on Saturday. While there weren’t any defensive stats to speak of, the percentages were good, and those rostering Kuzma will take the points and rebounds. The Bucks play three games during Week 2, starting with the rival Pacers on Monday night.

Kel’el Ware produced 19 points (6-of-11 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), 13 rebounds, one assist, one steal, two blocks and two three-pointers in Saturday’s loss to the 76ers.

The past two days reminded everyone why Ware is such a frustrating player to roster in fantasy basketball. After a subpar showing in the Bucks’ loss to the Bulls on Friday, the 7-footer rebounded and produced his best effort of the season’s first week. Ware recorded a complete stat line against the 76ers, including his first double-double of the season. Meanwhile, starting center Myles Turner went scoreless, contributing just five rebounds, one assist and one block in 20 minutes. As a result, the team benched him during the fourth quarter, with Ware picking up those minutes.

Jaime Jaquez Jr. tallied 21 points (7-of-13 FGs, 5-of-7 FTs), eight rebounds, four assists and two three-pointers in Saturday’s loss to the 76ers.

Jaquez has started his first season in Milwaukee strong, scoring at least 19 points in each of his first three games. Against the 76ers, he shot over 50 percent from the field and added solid rebound and assist numbers. Jaquez has yet to record a steal or blocked shot this season, but the rebounding and offensive output have been good. Set to hit restricted free agency in the summer, Jaquez is well positioned to deliver top-100 value in category leagues.

Nate Ament accounted for one point (1-of-4 FTs), three rebounds and one steal in Saturday’s loss to the 76ers.

Ament made his official NBA debut on Saturday, and unfortunately, it didn’t go well. The rookie missed his lone field-goal attempt and shot 1-of-4 from the foul line, while also picking up five fouls in 11 minutes. Even without LeBron James, Philadelphia isn’t a good matchup for Ament at this stage in his career. But it’s something to build on, and he’ll have plenty of chances to make good on his perceived upside throughout the season.

VJ Edgecombe amassed 17 points (5-of-13 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), 12 rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block and five three-pointers in Saturday’s win over the Bucks.

On a night when Joel Embiid recorded a triple-double, Edgecombe posted his eighth career double-double. The 76ers guard shot 5-of-10 from beyond the arc, a welcome development after going 1-of-7 from deep in wins over the Knicks and Cavaliers. Given Philadelphia’s offensive firepower, Edgecombe will get plenty of catch-and-shoot opportunities, even on nights when the rotation isn’t whole. Consistently taking advantage of those chances should raise his fantasy ceiling.
