Neemias Queta tallied 15 points (4-of-8 FGs, 6-of-9 FTs), six rebounds, one assist, three blocks and one three-pointer in Friday’s win over the Knicks.

The Celtics’ minutes split at center is worth tracking early in this season. Queta once again came off the bench on Friday, playing as many minutes (22) as starter Mitchell Robinson (four points, four rebounds, two assists and one blocked shot). Queta still had a good night, showing why fantasy managers should not give up on him. While he may not play starters’ minutes, Queta can still offer value in a reserve role.
Black, da Silva are possible Banchero replacements
With Paolo Banchero out for 4-6 weeks with an ankle injury, Eric Samulski says that Anthony Black and Tristan da Silva could see more minutes for the Magic and be positive additions for a fantasy roster.

Neither George nor Robinson has dealt with an injury at this early juncture in the season. However, their absences from the injury report are notable, as Monday’s game is the first of two in as many nights for the Celtics. Boston hosts Brooklyn on Tuesday, and that may be a game in which George and/or Robinson get a night off for injury management reasons.

Robinson got the starting nod in his debut for the Celtics, but, as expected, he didn’t dominate the minutes. Neemias Queta played 22 minutes off the bench, and Luka Garza logged eight minutes, leaving Robinson with the other 18. It’s absolutely worth noting that Robinson injured his ankle in this game and was seen icing it after, though Joe Mazzulla downplayed the severity. If Robinson ends up missing any time, Queta will likely slide back into the starting lineup.
  • BOS Center-Forward #4
White, George and Tatum were all locks for the starting lineup, but the remaining two spots were up for grabs. Walsh will slot into the final wing spot, and Robinson will replace Neemias Queta as the starting center. Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla experimented with lineups throughout the 2025-26 campaign, and that may be the case in 2026-27.
  • BOS Center-Forward #4
After coming off the bench in his first preseason appearances as a Celtic, Robinson started on Wednesday. The 7-footer had an excellent night, not missing a shot from the field or the foul line while also blocking three shots. Neemias Queta (16 points, one rebound and one assist) still played more, logging 24 minutes to Robinson’s 17. At times, the two shared the court in a big lineup, with Queta sliding up to power forward. As long as he’s available, Robinson should get the minutes needed to provide late-round value, especially for managers punting free-throw percentage.
  • BOS Center-Forward #4
After spending the first eight seasons of his NBA career with the Knicks, Robinson moved north and signed with the Celtics in free agency. One question for the 7-footer is how much he’ll be able to play after ankle issues limited his minutes in each of his final three seasons with the Knicks. Robinson, likely to serve as Neemias Queta’s backup, expressed confidence that he’ll be able to play more after averaging 19.6 minutes per game last season. “Oh, definitely. I feel very confident in myself,” Robinson said. “I’ve been working on my body this whole summer. Figuring things out. And I’m very confident in myself right now.” If he can get his playing time into the mid-20s, that would make Robinson a viable option for fantasy managers, especially those willing to punt free-throw percentage. However, Queta’s presence does limit Robinson’s fantasy ceiling.
  • PHI Center #1
Drummond’s reported deal will be an important one for the Knicks as they look to fill the void at backup center. Drummond has played 14 seasons in the NBA, serving various roles. He’ll essentially replace Mitchell Robinson, who agreed to a deal with the Celtics, to help New York in its title defense. Drummond averaged 6.4 points and 8.4 rebounds last season with the 76ers.
  • BOS Center #88
Queta enjoyed a breakout season for Boston last year, averaging 10.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game. That was enough for him to earn a contract that will keep him around until for the remainder of the decade. The Celtics added Mitchell Robinson this summer, so Queta will likely split the minutes down low with him, though Queta should be the incumbent starter. He was a top-75 player in nine-category scoring last season in just 25.3 minutes per game, which is certainly a realistic role for him to play while splitting minutes with Robinson.
  • BOS Center-Forward #23
Robinson’s deal includes a player option in the third season. The 28-year-old center is coming off winning a championship with the Knicks as the organization’s longest-tenured player. Now Robinson will call Boston home for at least the next two season. The Celtics desperately needed help in the frontcourt and the addition of Robinson helps address that need. It’s no surprise the Knicks didn’t elect to sign Robinson given the team’s cap situation the organization’s desire to avoid the second apron. Robinson will go into the Celtic’s mid-level exception and Boston will be hard capped to the first apron.
  • NYK Center-Forward #23
Fresh off the franchise’s first NBA title in 53 years, the Knicks’ focus has turned to the roster makeup for 2026-27. While Dolan made it clear that he’s fine with writing a check to account for entering the luxury tax, that isn’t the case for the second apron. “If we could bring back the whole team, exactly as it is, why wouldn’t you? But I don’t know if we’re going to be able to, contractually,” Dolan said. “We’re willing to stretch, right. There’s certain things in the NBA that you’d have to be suicidal to do. One of them is called the second apron. Cannot go into the second apron. That’s up to Leon (Rose)...I’ll write as big of a check as possible, but I can’t write a check that goes into the second apron.” This is important because two rotation players, Mitchell Robinson and Landry Shamet, are among the Knicks who will be unrestricted free agents at the end of the month. And Jose Alvarado, who was critical in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, has a $4.5 million player option. The Knicks barely avoided the second apron this season; this task becomes even more challenging this summer.
  • NYK Center-Forward #23
Robinson returns to the injury report for Game 5 of the NBA Finals but he is available to play. The Knicks ' big man logged 13 minutes in Game 4 and grabbed five rebounds. Robinson will continue to have a similar role as New York looks to close out the series.

Cason Wallace (shoulder) is out for Monday’s game against the Suns.

Wallace left Sunday’s game with a shoulder injury and didn’t return. He’ll subsequently miss Monday’s game against the Bucks. Ajay Mitchell is certainly a candidate for more minutes and potentially a starting spot with Wallace sidelined.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports Jalen Suggs (knee) will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Suggs was diagnosed with a mild bone bruise in his right knee, according to Charania. He’ll be re-evaluated in two weeks. Suggs hyperextended his right knee and was helped to the locker room during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Knicks. This is seems to be good news for Suggs, who appears to have avoided a more serious injury.

Chet Holmgren (knee) is out for Monday’s game against the Suns.

Holmgren is dealing with right patellar tendonitis. Isaiah Hartenstein stepped up with 12 points and 12 rebounds in the win over the Clippers Sunday while Holmgren had a relatively quiet game with 10 points and four rebounds. Hartenstein should see even more usage with Holmgren out Monday against the Suns.

T.J. McConnell (hamstring) is out for Monday’s game against the Bucks.

McConnell is still yet to appear in a game due to a hamstring injury. With McConnell out and Andrew Nembhard questionable (neck), Quenton Jackson could see some more minutes off the bench.

Ivica Zubac (ankle) is out for Monday’s game against the Bucks.

No surprise here as Zubac played only seven minutes after injuring his ankle in Sunday’s win over the Nets and was seen leaving the arena on crutches. The good news is the x-rays were negative and Zubac appears to have avoided a long-term injury. Jay Huff should get the start in Zubac’s absence and is worth streaming.

Aaron Nesmith (hamstring) is probable for Monday’s game against the Bucks.

Nesmith is likely to play Monday given his probable tag and he could even remain in the starting lineup. Still, he’s an unexciting player for fantasy purposes.

Andrew Nembhard (neck) is questionable for Monday’s game against the Bucks.

Nembhard is averaging 16 points, 5.7 assists and 1.0 steals after three games, but is listed as questionable Monday with a neck injury. If he’s ultimately ruled out, Kelly Oubre Jr. could move into the starting lineup and potentially be worth streaming.

Caleb Martin (thumb) is out for Monday’s game against the Heat.

No surprise here unfortunately as Martin is yet to appear in a game this season thanks to a sprained right thumb. His continued absence doesn’t impact fantasy basketball, however.

Cooper Flagg (shoulder) was upgraded to probable for Monday’s game against the Heat.

Flagg made it through shootaround and was upgraded to probable for Monday’s game against the Heat. All signs point to the 19-year-old forward returning after a one-game absence. Flagg should be started in all fantasy formats as the week begins.

Marcus Smart (forearm) is out for Monday’s game against the Hawks.

Smart is set to miss his second game in a row with a forearm injury. Bogdan Bogdanovic saw more minutes in Smart’s absence Saturday against the Hawks, but isn’t worth streaming in most fantasy leagues anyway.
