Zach LaVine hits three triples, scores 22 points

Zach LaVine recorded 22 points (7-of-10 FGs, 5-of-7 FTs), three rebounds, three assists and three three-pointers in Tuesday’s loss to the Spurs.

LaVine has scored at least 22 points in each of Sacramento’s first four games, and against the Spurs, he made 70 percent of his shots from the field. With this being a contract year for LaVine, the question is whether a strong first half of the season will put him on the radar of contending teams heading into the February trade deadline. If so, joining a team with meaningful basketball to play in March could preserve LaVine’s fantasy value.

Lakers head coach JJ Redick said Monday that Adou Thiero (knee) is ramping up his workouts and could return to game action by week’s end.

Thiero dealt with knee swelling at the end of preseason and has been unavailable since. That could change this week, as the second-year wing has recently ramped up his workout intensity. While this won’t affect fantasy basketball, Thiero’s return will add athleticism on the wing for the Lakers.

Brandon Williams (quad) has been ruled out against the Suns on Monday.

Williams will be unavailable on the second night of this back-to-back. He has been a reliable source of offense for the Warriors this season as the backup point guard. Gary Payton II and Will Richard should take on extra minutes in his absence.

Darius Garland, Gradey Dick, Kris Dunn, Kobe Sanders and Brook Lopez will start Monday’s game against the Raptors.

The Clippers are down three starters for Monday’s game, with Rui Hachimura, Derrick Jones Jr. and Isaiah Jackson unavailable. They’ve been replaced in the lineup by Gradey, Sanders and Lopez. Of the three, Lopez may be the safest option for fantasy managers.

Fred VanVleet, Amen Thompson, Kevin Durant, Jabari Smith Jr. and Alperen Şengün will start Monday’s game against the Celtics.

VanVleet is back after sitting out Saturday’s win over the Thunder. As a result, Marcus Smart will head back to his customary bench role.

Alpha Diallo (wrist) is available for Monday’s game against the Trail Blazers.

Diallo is back after a four-game absence. While his return adds wing depth for the Nuggets, it’s unlikely to affect fantasy basketball because Diallo will come off the bench.

Derrick White, Hugo González, Baylor Scheierman, Jayson Tatum and Neemias Queta will start Monday’s game against the Rockets.

Paul George (rest) is out, opening a spot in the starting lineup. Scheierman will fill the resulting void. Also notable is Queta getting another start, despite Mitchell Robinson being available after sitting out Sunday’s win over the Magic.

Cooper Flagg, Max Christie, Caleb Martin, PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford will start Monday’s game against the Kings.

The Mavericks won’t have Kyrie Irving for Monday’s game, which opens a spot in the starting lineup. Martin will fill the void, which raises his fantasy ceiling. However, that isn’t enough to make him a worthwhile streamer in most leagues, since there are 15 games on Monday’s schedule.

Brayden Burries, Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kyle Kuzma and Myles Turner will start against the Timberwolves on Monday.

Burries will get the first start of his career, with Ryan Rollins heading to the bench. There isn’t any injury reason for Rollins to head to the bench, so this could be a permanent move, which would bode well for Burries’ value.

Kelly Oubre Jr. (knee) has been ruled out against the Hawks on Monday.

Oubre was never on the injury report, but he has been ruled out, with the update coming after the scheduled tipoff time. That will leave the Pacers with just six available players, which means those six will average out to 40 minutes of playing time.

LaMelo Ball (wrist) is available for Monday’s game against the Bucks.

Despite a right wrist contusion, Ball is available to play on Monday. He’ll take on his usual role as the starting point guard, and the Timberwolves will need a more efficient Ball as they continue without Anthony Edwards (knee). He’s joined in the starting lineup by Ayo Dosunmu, Jaden McDaniels, Jonathan Kuminga and Rudy Gobert. Gobert’s return pushes Joan Beringer to the bench.
