ESPN’s Marc Spears reported that the Warriors expect Draymond Green to opt out of the final year of his contract and become a free agent.
Green would make close to $27.6 million next season if he were to play out his current contract, but he reportedly has other plans. This is one of the challenges that new general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. will have to deal with this summer as the Warriors look to remain in the championship conversation. According to Spears, Dunleavy has already met with Green and Stephen Curry since taking over. While the Warriors expect Green to opt out of the final season of his contract, they’ll reportedly do all that they can to re-sign him.
