Kyle Filipowski finished Sunday’s 97-87 win over Detroit with 26 points (8-of-22 FGs, 7-of-7 FTs), 11 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and three 3-pointers in 34 minutes.
After struggling during Utah’s summer league games in Salt Lake City, Filipowski looked more comfortable in Las Vegas. The role likely had something to do with that, as Walker Kessler’s absence led to the rookie being moved from power forward to center. While Filipowski did encounter some issues defensively, he has the offensive skill set needed to force mismatches on the other end. With Utah appearing to be all-in on the 2025 draft class, playing time may not be hard to come by for the rookie. And if the Jazz were to trade Lauri Markkanen, Filipowski’s fantasy ceiling would increase significantly.
  • CHI Guard #3

Josh Giddey tallied 11 points (4-of-10 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), seven rebounds, five assists and one three-pointer in Sunday’s loss to the Pelicans.
Highlights: Williamson returns, Pels beat Bulls
Zion Williamson is back from a five-game absence due to an injured thigh and scores 18 points to to help the Pelicans claim victory over the Bulls.
  • CHI Guard-Forward #13
Kevin Huerter accounted for 16 points (6-of-12 FGs), four rebounds, three steals and four three-pointers in Sunday’s loss to the Pelicans.
  • CHI Guard #0
Coby White finished Sunday’s loss to the Pelicans with 20 points (8-of-18 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), five rebounds, five assists, two steals and one three-pointer.
  • NOP Guard #3
Jordan Poole accounted for 16 points (6-of-15 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), two rebounds, four assists, one steal and two three-pointers in Sunday’s win over the Bulls.
  • NOP Forward #1
Zion Williamson tallied 18 points (7-of-15 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), six rebounds and two assists in Sunday’s win over the Bulls.
  • NOP Guard #0
Jeremiah Fears amassed 20 points (7-of-13 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), two rebounds, three assists, two steals and one three-pointer in Sunday’s win over the Bulls.
Fears recorded his seventh 20-point game of the season on Sunday, and his efficiency has improved recently. Over the past two weeks, the rookie has averaged 16.5 points on 45.7 percent shooting from the field. Turnovers have been an issue for Fears, who committed three against the Bulls, which is why he’s been more valuable in eight-cat formats and turnover-punt roster builds. The Pelicans are scheduled to play two games in Week 9, beginning with the Rockets on Thursday.
  • NOP Forward #25
Trey Murphy finished Sunday’s win over the Bulls with 20 points (8-of-14 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), 10 rebounds, two assists and two three-pointers.
Since returning from an elbow injury that sidelined him for two games, Murphy has scored at least 20 points in six straight appearances. With Zion Williamson back in the rotation, the Pelicans’ scoring was more balanced on Sunday, with six players scoring in double figures. Murphy has led the way throughout the season, and there’s no reason to believe that won’t remain the case moving forward. New Orleans doesn’t play its next game until Thursday as part of a two-game Week 9.
  • MIN Forward-Center #30
Julius Randle went off for 24 points (9-of-20 FGs, 4-of-6 FTs), nine rebounds, three assists and three steals over 36 minutes, leading the Timberwolves to a 117-103 win over the Kings.
Randle spearheaded Minnesota’s offensive effort with Anthony Edwards (foot) missing his second straight contest. He knocked down a pair of three-pointers and finished one rebound shy of a double-double in this one. The 31-year-old scoring machine has delivered fifth-round fantasy value over the past two weeks, averaging 23.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 0.5 steals over six games during that span. It’s a bust week coming up for the Timberwolves as they host the Grizzlies, Thunder and Bucks.
  • SAC Guard #17
Dennis Schröder finished with 17 points (5-of-11 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), one rebound and three assists over 25 minutes during Sunday’s loss to the Timberwolves.
Schröder returned to Sacramento’s lineup following a seven-game absence due to a hip injury. The 32-year-old veteran point guard is an afterthought in most fantasy leagues given his sporadic usage with the Kings, but he’s capable of heating up for the occasional 20-point effort. He figures to be on the move once the trade deadline rolls around, especially if Sacramento falls out of playoff contention.
  • MIN Forward #3
Jaden McDaniels amassed 21 points (7-of-19 FGs, 6-of-6 FTs), four rebounds, two assists and two steals over 37 minutes in Sunday’s win over the Kings.
McDaniels eclipsed 20 points despite going 1-for-7 from downtown by getting to the line for a season-high six free throws. The 25-year-old continues to play a significant role for Minnesota as he’s topped 17 points in four of his last six contests since December 1. He’ll continue to shoulder a significant portion of the offensive workload with Anthony Edwards (foot) on the shelf.
