Hornets coach Charles Lee said Kon Knueppel (ankle) “escaped serious injury.”
Knueppel exited early from Friday’s game, but Lee said he wanted to practice on Sunday. This should be a good indicator that he won’t miss much time. The injury report ahead of Monday’s game against the Bucks will be a better indicator of Knueppel’s status, and if he ends up missing the game, Sion James will likely start in his place.

Paul Reed (personal) is out on Thursday against the Suns.
No word yet on the reason for Reed’s absence or how long it might keep him out. With Jalen Duren (ankle) listed as probable for Thursday’s game, Reed was set to see his playing time diminish in the coming games.
Mavs to be cautious with Flagg after ankle injury
Eric Samulski explores the fantasy ripple effects of Cooper Flagg's ankle injury from Wednesday night, where he highlights Mavericks who could see increased role if the star rookie misses additional time.
  • ATL Guard #4
Luke Kennard (neck) is probable for Thursday’s game against the Trail Blazers.
Kennard played through a neck injury on Saturday and then sat out Tuesday’s game against the Lakers. He seems likely to return on Thursday after missing just one game. It will be interesting to see how the Hawks manage the playing time between Kennard and Corey Kispert.
  • MIA Guard #14
Tyler Herro (ribs, toe) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Thursday’s game against the Celtics.
Herro was initially listed as probable. His toe had kept him out for 11 games, but he has played in four of the last five since returning. It appears he’ll play in yet another one as the team manages his toe injury.
  • POR Forward #9
Jerami Grant (Achilles) is probable for Thursday’s game against the Hawks.
Grant was doubtful before Tuesday’s game and then listed as questionable on Wednesday, so he’s now trending in the right direction to finally be active. He has missed 14th games with an Achilles injury, but could return at a great time for Portland, with Deni Avdija (back) already ruled out for Thursday.
  • POR Forward #8
Deni Avdija (back) has been downgraded to out for Thursday’s game against the Hawks.
Avdija was initially listed as doubtful, so his being downgraded isn’t a huge surprise. Caleb Love should continue to play big minutes and be leaned on for offense. He’s been a borderline top 100 player over the last few weeks and can be relied on in most fantasy formats.
  • DAL Forward #32
Cooper Flagg is doubtful for Thursday’s game against the Jazz with an ankle injury.
Flagg sprained his ankle in the third quarter of Wednesday’s game against the Nuggets. After the game, head coach Jason Kidd mentioned that Flagg had tweaked his ankle in the prior game against the Nets. Flagg has only missed one game this season due to injury, but the Mavericks are likely to be cautious with their top draft pick and the future of their franchise. With Flagg likely out and P.J. Washington questionable, we could see high usage outputs for Naji Marshall and Klay Thompson.
  • UTA Center #30
Jusuf Nurkić is off the injury report on Thursday
Nurkić was a surprise DNP on Wednesday despite having played 30 minutes on Monday. He had previously missed two games with a toe injury, but the Jazz are alternating giving players days off as they try not to win too many games. With Lauri Markkanen (illness) out again on Thursday, there’s a good chance that Nurkić could return to the starting lineup, which would cut into Kyle Filipowski’s minutes.
  • UTA Forward-Center #23
Lauri Markkanen (illness) has been downgraded to out on Thursday against the Mavericks.
Markkanen also missed Wednesday’s game against the Bulls, and the Jazz have yet to win a game he misses this season. Cody Williams started against the Bulls, but it was Brice Sensabaugh who had a huge game against the Bulls and could see another strong performance on Thursday.
  • DAL Forward #25
P.J. Washington (ankle injury management) is listed as questionable for Thursday’s game against the Jazz.
Washington missed four games with an ankle injury but then was able to return on Wednesday and play 31 minutes against the Nuggets. The Mavericks may choose to sit him for the second leg of a back-to-back, which would open up more minutes for Dwight Powell and Klay Thompson.
  • DAL Guard #00
Max Christie is listed as doubtful for Thursday’s game against the Jazz with an illness.
Christie also missed Wednesday’s game against the Nuggets with the same illness. That led to extra minutes for Ryan Nembhard and Klay Thompson, who should both see additional minutes with Cooper Flagg (ankle) also doubtful for this game.
