Murray’s process has been slowed by the Cardinals having not officially released him yet, so this appears to be Rapoport’s way of saying that we shouldn’t expect a deal flying off the second free agency opens later today. But this has been an obvious landing spot for some time and we’re certainly expecting it to come together after Tua Tagovailoa joined the Falcons and the Colts re-signed Daniel Jones to a new contract.

Aiyuk has been on the outs with the team for at least a year now and was never going to return to San Francisco in 2026. Wagoner said the Commanders remain the favorite to land Aiyuk after his release, expected to be a post-June 1 designation. Aiyuk, 27, will cost the Niners around $13.3 million in dead money this year and $21.7 million in 2027. If he signs with Washington, the deal will surely be of the prove-it variety.

It can pay him up to $100 million. Negotiating off the transition tag, this honestly isn’t a big bump for Jones. It sounds like a lot of money because of how quickly the cap has gone up, but it puts Jones 12th among starters if he hits his incentives and 17th if he doesn’t, pending restructures for players like Matthew Stafford and cuts ahead of him for Kyler Murray. Jones enters the offseason as Indianapolis’ QB1, but rehabbing a late-season torn Achilles that will make his status for Week 1 shaky. Adam Schefter reports he’s expected to be ready to play Week 1 and may even be available in training camp, but we’re skeptical of that. Jones is best treated as a mid-range superflex QB2 in fantasy while we wait to see if he’ll be able to run full speed again.
  • NE Wide Receiver
The Patriots released Diggs this month before free agency began. Last year Diggs led the Patriots with a 20 percent target share and finished the regular season with 1,017 yards and four touchdowns. Doubs, Graf said, “can play on the outside. He can make up for a lot of the production over the middle that Stefon Diggs brought last season. He should help the offense’s red zone woes (20 of his 23 career touchdowns have come in the red zone). He can pull down deep balls, which Maye thrives at.” Doubs in 2025 led the Packers with five end zone targets and 17 inside-the-20 targets. He could have some touchdown-based upside in New England’s balanced offense in 2026. The Patriots could still acquire A.J. Brown in the coming weeks depending on the Eagles’ asking price. That move would likely make Doubs a distant WR2 in the Pats offense.
  • NFL Commissioner
The league continues to add regular season games on and around every major American holiday. The Thanksgiving week schedule has changed dramatically over the past decade, with a primetime game added to the Thursday slate and a Black Friday game tacked on for good measure in 2023. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said last year that he would like to add a second Black Friday game to the schedule.
  • JAC Wide Receiver #7
This is a good reading of the will-they, won’t-they offseason saga of Thomas potentially being traded. The Jaguars seem willing to listen on Thomas, but aren’t going to do a deal just because he’s a lower-rung part of their offense than he was in 2024. “According to the source, teams believe the Jaguars’ price for Thomas is ‘at least one premium pick,’” Shipley adds. Thomas is only halfway through his rookie contract, not even counting the fifth-year option, so it makes plenty of sense that the Jaguars would hold on to him barring some kind of ridiculous offer. Shipley’s prediction is that Thomas will play for the Jaguars in 2026, at least until the trade deadline.
  • PHI Wide Receiver #11
“The Patriots aren’t out of the Brown sweepstakes,” Graff concludes while noting that signing Romeo Doubs at least buys them a little space to not be desperate to trade for Brown. We’re not sure that actually matters from the outside. Doubs is a fine player, but he’s not A.J. Brown and there’s no store to buy other A.J. Browns from. The Patriots appear to not want to pay the price for Brown that Howie Roseman has set.
  • LV Defensive End
For now, the Raiders are standing strong on their demand for multiple first rounders for any team interested in taking the perpetually disgruntled Crosby, 28, off their hands after the Ravens backed out of a trade for Crosby on Tuesday. Russini said Wednesday that Crosby’s short-term health prospects are “positive” while concern remains about the long-term outlook for his injured knee. Crosby is reportedly rehabbing in the Raiders facility today as he awaits word on where the Raiders will deal him ahead of the 2026 season.
  • WAS Linebacker #44
It is more than Mike Reiss predicted Chaisson would get in free agency, but he had to take a one-year deal to do it. Chaisson should be a starter on the edge for the Commanders, on the other side of the ball as Odafe Oweh. The defensive line has received a major makeover this tampering period in Washington.
  • BAL Defensive End #91
Baltimore now has Maxx Crosby’s replacement roughly 12 hours after his trade fell through. Hendrickson had been holding out for a better deal to start free agency and the Crosby debacle created an opening for him. At just $28 million per year, Hendrickson isn’t quite paid like the top-tier EDGE-rushers, but he should still crack the top-10. He was injured for much of 2025 and totaled just four sacks, but his 2024 and 2023 seasons were enough to get him paid. Hendrickson tallied 17.5 sacks in both of those seasons. That was enough to lead the league two years ago. He will now be the centerpiece of first-year head coach Jesse Minter’s defense.
