HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reports that the Mavericks are waiving Tyler Smith.
The 33rd overall pick in the 2024 draft, Smith appeared in 23 games as a rookie in Milwaukee before joining Dallas on a two-way deal last summer. The 6-foot-9 forward played 12 games for the Mavericks last season, averaging 4.7 points and 2.8 rebounds in 13.8 minutes. Smith’s exit frees up a two-way contract slot for the Mavericks, who currently have John Poulakidis and Tobi Lawal under such contracts.
