Tre Mann and a 2027 Clippers second-round pick have been traded to the Wizards in exchange for Cam Whitmore as part of the Peyton Watson trade.

Mann was sent to Cleveland from Charlotte as part of the Dennis Schroder trade last week, but he’ll end up back in the Southeast division. Mann has shown flashes and could compete with Bub Carrington for the backup point guard job behind Trae Young, but with the compensation that was required for the Wizards to acquire him, it is unlikely they have big plans for him.

Days after NBA insider Marc Stein called Denver a “team to watch” on Whitmore, the former first-round pick has officially agreed to a two-way deal. A blood clot in his shoulder limited Whitmore to 21 appearances for the Wizards last season, and he has not played 60 games in any of his three NBA seasons. His rookie season was Whitmore’s most productive, as he averaged 12.3 points per game with the Rockets. The move to Denver won’t affect redraft leagues, but Whitmore could remain in play in dynasty leagues if he can turn the two-way deal into something more.
  • Whitmore, limited to 21 games last season because of deep vein thrombosis in his shoulder, was waived by the Cavaliers in August after the team acquired him in the Peyton Watson trade. Interestingly, Watson’s former team is reportedly considering the free-agent forward as training camp approaches. Whitmore has yet to carve out a consistent role in the NBA, but the former first-round pick could be worth a roll of the dice for a Nuggets team that can use added wing depth. While unlikely to be much of a factor in redraft leagues, landing a roster spot would clearly preserve what little value Whitmore has in dynasty leagues.
  • This was rumored after he was sent to Cleveland as part of the Peyton Watson trade, and now it’s official. The 2023 first-round pick will be looking for a new home after suiting up in 21 games for the Wizards last season prior to suffering a season-ending shoulder injury in December.
  • CLE Forward
Whitmore was dealt to Cleveland as part of the Peyton Watson trade, but it doesn’t seem like the Cavs are interested in keeping him around. Stretching his $5.4 million contract over a few seasons will give them more flexibility to build out this team with players that are more ready to help win now. It isn’t official yet, but it seems likely that Whitmore won’t be playing in Cleveland next season.
  • CLE Forward #1
Whitmore was added in to facilitate the Peyton Watson trade, and he’ll end up as a young depth piece in Cleveland. However, there are likely too many players in front of him on the depth chart on a team that is trying to compete in the East for him to get much of an opportunity next season.
  • CLE Guard #23
Mann is headed to Cleveland after two-plus seasons in Charlotte, where he occupied a reserve role on most nights. Appearing in 53 games in 2025-26, the former first-round pick averaged 5.5 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 12.6 minutes. With Cleveland’s backcourt being headlined by Donovan Mitchell and James Harden, Mann is unlikely to be in a position where he can offer reliable fantasy value.
  • The Cavaliers also sent cash considerations to the Hornets as part of the deal. According to various reports, the Cavaliers had been trying to offload Schröder’s contract since the NBA Draft. In this trade, they’ll save around $6 million in cap space. The Hornets will upgrade their backcourt depth here in the wake of trading LaMelo Ball to the Timberwolves. Charlotte will be Schröder’s 12th team, bringing him one away from tying Ish Smith’s record for most teams played for. The 32-year-old point guard averaged 10.8 points and 4.9 assists in 70 games last season.
  • CHA Guard #3
White was downgraded to questionable Tuesday afternoon and subsequently ruled out with left groin soreness. The 26-year-old has excelled in a bench role since coming over from the Bulls before the trade deadline. Tre Mann could see a slight boost in minutes and production with White sidelined.
  • CHA Guard #3
Tuesday’s game is the first of two in as many days for the Hornets, who visit the Celtics on Wednesday. His absence frees up rotation minutes for fellow reserve Tre Mann, who is not worth the streaming risk.
  • CHA Guard #3
It’s unclear if White will face a minutes restriction after such a lengthy layoff, but his return will likely mean fewer minutes for Tre Mann and Sion James.

Jordan Poole (ankle) is out for Monday’s game against the Grizzlies.

Poole will miss a third consecutive game with left ankle tendinopathy. Bryce McGowens has played rotation minutes off the bench recently and should continue to do so, but he’s unlikely to offer reliable fantasy value.

Trey Murphy (knee) is probable for Monday’s game against the Grizzlies.

The probable tag suggests that Murphy will ultimately be available for Monday’s game. If he can’t play, Herb Jones may remain in the starting lineup, since Dejounte Murray (personal) is available.

Dejounte Murray (personal) is not on the injury report for Monday’s game against the Grizzlies.

Murray will be available on Monday after missing the last two games for personal reasons. His return likely means that Herb Jones will head to the bench, and it may also lower Jeremiah Fears’ fantasy ceiling.

Derrick White, Jordan Walsh, Paul George, Jayson Tatum and Neemias Queta will start Sunday’s game against the Magic.

Sunday’s game is the first of two in as many days for the Celtics, who visit the Rockets on Monday. As a result, Mitchell Robinson (rest) will sit, and Queta will replace him in the starting lineup. Luka Garza should pick up additional minutes off the bench.

According to Knicks head coach Mike Brown, Jose Alvarado (ankle) participated in Sunday’s practice.

Alvarado has missed the Knicks’ last four games with a sprained ankle, resulting in Tyler Kolek entering the rotation. While he did play well in the first three games that Alvarado missed, Kolek struggled in Friday’s loss to the 76ers.

Tim Hardaway Jr. (personal) missed Heat practice on Sunday but is expected to rejoin the team in time for Monday’s game against the Lakers.

Hardaway has come off the bench in each of Miami’s first six games, averaging 6.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.0 three-pointers in 18.2 minutes. His production hasn’t been enough to merit a roster spot in fantasy leagues.

According to Bulls head coach Tiago Splitter, Nic Claxton (hamstring) fully participated in Sunday’s practice.

Acquired from the Nets in a multi-team trade this summer, Claxton strained his hamstring in early October and has been out since. However, his Bulls debut may not be far away, as he practiced on Sunday without limitations. Jalen Smith has been the starting center in Claxton’s absence, and managers may want to hold onto him until Claxton can play with no restrictions on his playing time.

Vit Krejčí finished Saturday’s win over the Jazz with five points (2-of-6 FGs), four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one three-pointer.

With Saturday’s game being Portland’s first since losing Ja Morant to a Grade 2 hamstring strain, head coach Micah Nori had to alter his rotation. One change was more playing time for Krejčí, who logged 24 minutes in the 112-90 victory. His production wasn’t enough to make him a player worth adding going into Week 3, but Krejčí should get more opportunities in the coming weeks.

Mitchell Robinson (rest) is out for Sunday’s game against the Magic.

Boston plays on Sunday and Monday, so Robinson sitting is not a major surprise. Neemias Queta is the most likely replacement in the starting lineup, and Luka Garza’s playing time is likely to increase.

Kenrich Williams finished Saturday’s loss to the Rockets with 11 points (3-of-7 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), seven rebounds, two assists and three three-pointers.

After totaling 10 points in his first two starts of the season, Williams scored 11 on Saturday. He was most valuable against the Rockets in three-pointers and rebounds, but this performance doesn’t make “Kenny Hustle” a must-add heading into Oklahoma City’s four-game Week 3. Also, with the Thunder playing two games against Cleveland to start the week, it’s fair to wonder whether head coach Mark Daigneault would consider a bigger lineup to match up with Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. If so, Williams or Jared McCain (10/4/2/1) could be headed to the bench.
